Earl gives me vibes of Red Foreman's demeanor.

50% Red, 50% young Clint Eastwood.

Yeah, the MHI books are lots of high-testosterone fun, sometimes referred to as "gun-porn." Much of the humor comes from flipping stereotypes. Instead of the "stripper with a heart of gold," Holly is the "stripper who is a major bad-ass and smart as hell." The "wise and old" Elves are instead Trailer park trash. The Orcs turn out to be highly honorable warriors with special talents.
Larry does a great job at building out the hidden world within our world. He explains why the population is kept oblivious to the supernatural. The books continue to be fun as you learn more about the characters and their backgrounds. The Monster Hunter Memoirs books are also a lot of fun.
I don't know if you have read Jim Butcher's Dresden Files Books, but that is my favorite series of all time. Much like Correia and MHI, Jim Butcher learned how to write with his first series, so the first few Dresden books, while good, don't show his best writing.

@@guycoburn1633 the Dresden books have been on my TBR for a while. I think I might take a swing at them in 2025.

@@Dirtbaggery As much as I enjoy Larry Correia's books, I have to say that Jim Butcher's Dresden Files is my absolute favorite series. The first few are good, but by book 4, Jim really figures out how superlative writing works. However, the first few books lay the groundwork for the entire series so they should be read in order. Things that seem inconsequential come up much later in the series.
If you don't love the series by Book 7, Dead Beat, you should give up. But, you WILL love it by then -- who can't love the hero riding a zombie T-rex into battle??
The series just has a marvelous combination of mystery, action, adventure, humor and thoughtful observations about humanity. The supporting characters are wonderful and there's great world-building. Jim tells the story of how he came up with a 22-book series, to be capped off with a BAT (Big Apocalyptic Trilogy). He's added two more books, so when he's done, there will be a total of 28. He's working on Book 20, which should be out soon.
One of the books also has one of the best opening lines of any book: "The building was on fire, and it wasn't my fault."
I read all the books through 11, then I got the Audiobook for #10 (Changes) -- that made me get an Audible membership, just to get all the Audiobooks. They are read by James Marsters (Spike from Buffy and Angel, as well as Brainiac on Smallville and other good roles). Marsters IS the voice of Harry Dresden.
The only Audiobook reader who compares is Jeff Hays, the guy who performs the Dungeon Crawler Carl series (which is hilarious).

@@guycoburn1633 zombie T-Rex does sound epic, reminds me of the zombie bear and elephant from MH Vendetta.
I think one of the reasons I haven’t quite started the Dresden series is because of how big it is, but I’m slowly working through a lot of other things I wanted to read, so I might start picking away at it. I have a KU membership, but I might have to get an audible one too. There’s some books that I really like listening to, monster hunter is 1, and Horus Rising from the Horus Heresy is also one of my favs, and I have a lot of opportunity to listen to audio books.

@@Dirtbaggery Trust me, the Zombie T-Rex is far more epic, especially when you learn the origin of the line, "Polka will NEVER DIE!!" (Snicker -- just wait until you read it!)
I got into Audible when I had some eye problems (which have since been fixed). But I still have the Audible membership. By the way, Larry has some Audible exclusives free for members, the Lost Planet Homicide trilogy of novellas.

@Dirtbaggery I picked up the first one based on recommendations from MHI's FB page.
Very good, but I like Correia's MHI and Son of the Black Sword series better.
