What a heart warming moment for those two.
This was a super video. It was so nice to see baby Kintaro with dad Momo just looking at each other until Momo gave Kintaro a little swipe in the head. Although didn't bother Kintaro he just moved a bit and continued playing.😂 He has the best personality, of any of the gorillas. He just goes with the flow and it seems to try to keep everybody happy, especially Genki. He has grown up so much since this video.
The little one is showing off in front of dad so cute😊
It's amazing how the baby gorilla acts like a baby but can climb like a parkour expert. Always does this thing to my brain. For them, climbing and hanging are as natural as walking.
I love seeing Kintaro run with his little legs he's the cutest little fella!!! Scalpers past like a little bug!!! Lol😘😘

That look kintaro gives dad at the 2:33 mark was pure innocence. I love how fast his little limbs move. He is such a sweet boy.
If I had one wish to make, it would be to hold him and play with him for a few minutes.
Momo wants to play, but he's never handled a baby Kintaro size. Remember, Gentaro didn't start rough play with Mono until he was 2, and he was bigger than His baby brother. His swipe was a nudge, but Momo doesn't know his strength. He tried twice ,but the last one sent Kintaro sliding across the floor. Momo wasn't aggressive, as you can see he was studying Kintaro, and even baby was under him.
The keepers are so lucky as they can easily touch our little baby Kintaro 😍

О, вот теперь я поняла, за что получил Кентаро от папочки! Малой карабкался на решетку и два раза оттуда падал. Когда собрался опять залезть на решетку, подошёл папа и малыш не решался залезть , а когда все таки попытался снова карабкаться, то тут же и получил в лобешник. И по праву!

Looks like that’s the corner they received treats at in the beginning of the video. The little one is just learning boundaries with dad and food, because I think dad thought it was his turn next for treats. Know harm was done, it’s as if baby wasn’t even affected by dads actions.

I can imagine humans gaulking at them and being loud, does a number on them and can stress them.. So I imagine the father can feel a bit testy at times.. I the humans are loud as well

Have you ever seen Momotaro hit his chest in dominance or hit the glass because some visitor disrespects him?
I asked that question years ago. I’ve never seen Momotaro beat his chest. He’s a gentle gorilla except when it comes to food.
I have never seen him do that either.

I’m by far no gorilla expert! But... Momotaru is a very good father!
There is such a role to be played by him! He is protecter, ruler ect. He commands respect! We saw him many times, go after Gentaro, when G grabbed baby Kintaro and took off! He watches over his little family troop constantly. His big thing, that he will NOT tolerate, is about his food! He eats first and only when he walks away, can the others approach! If he is looking through those bars, Hopi g for some food from the zookeeper, he won’t allow Kintaro to be in fro t of him. That little shove he gave him was NOTHING! It would be like us patting our baby’s back! He is massive! Consider that...
He HAS had some interaction with his baby son and has been gentle and loving. Please don’t judge him by this one video. Gorillas will always look meaner, bigger and badder, to us humans! Dad looks majestic and formidable! He would defend that family to his death! Love the part of the video at around 2 min, when Dad lets Gentaro think he is holding daddy’s arm down! Dad kinda smiles... it’s just so sweet! Kintaro has nothing to fear from this father! He too, will soon wrestle with dad!

Kintaro is the 1st baby gorilla either one sees. Gentaro was raised by the zoo keepers. So neither one knows how fragile a baby is. They are learning. Both have been a little too rough with Kintaro.
Gisel Simon : simply not true. Gentaro was given back to Genki at a young age and was very much raised by G and M. There is video, which BTW, I POSTED 👆🏻that shows Momotaru wrestling with Gentaro and G was young enough to still have his “ fluff!”

Ahhhhh Robin... please read my reply below to Dustin H. Momotaru is a good dad! Watch the video I posted in my reply, of dad wrestling baby Gentaro in 2016. I’m no expert... but I’ve saw so much good in Momotaru and I guess I just hate to see him misjudged... 😑
Momotaro's dad died when he was a baby. He doesn't know much about being a silverback except what comes naturally. Even then it is hit and miss. Genki had to teach him how to mate as he had no clue. I think he wants to play with Kintaro but doesn't realize that he can't play with him yet like he does with Gentaro.

It may take a few tries but it’ll happen. What did she do? Draw him a picture or what?
