Hi! I'm a new viewer from New Zealand. I plan on making some paneer and have seen a lot of recipes. Your's looks good because I don't want to make too much at first. I'd like to know if this paneer can be lightly fried before I add it to a curry? Thanks.

I've not had much luck with frying home made stuff. I'm assuming because my paneer isn't being drained/ squeezed enough.
Store bought fries much easier but i'm still experimenting with home made so maybe i'll get the hang of it.

The bonus of the way you’ve made this cheese is it’s vegetarian made

Thanks very much for the tip of two plates with a heavy weight on top. I used a pile of text books in a paper shopping bag. Worked a treat. Made paneer before but the pressing technique is crucial. Thx again.

I see how all your videos relate to a food source for us, handy while there’s a pandemic & going to supermarkets is getting more troublesome

Also, can bottled lemon or lime juice be used?

      Any acid works so yes.
edit: apparently it's a good idea to wash the curds with water to get rid of any of the taste of whatever acid you're using but i've never bothered.

Wow, I love this. Thank you. Is there any use for the whey?

Hey Sauvryn! There are a few uses for the whey such as using it for sauerkraut - although it tends to be very strong compared a whey that formed from rennet, or you can use it for fermenting grains to give to poultry or other grain eating pets, and you can just drink it, its full of nutrients that don't get caught by the curds - it's a bit of an acquired taste though!

Ive heard that the Swiss flavour and sweeten it (and then sometimes carbonate it) to make a drink. Personally I prefer wine but each to their own.
