I remember going to see This Is Spinal Tap in a movie theater where one of my best friends, his girlfriend, and a mutual friend of the three of us were the only four patrons in the theater. The best thing about the experience was that my buddy and I totally got what was going on and were laughing ourselves out of our seats the whole movie, while his girl, and the mutual friend kept looking back and forth from us to the screen, then to each other and shaking their heads, completely baffled at how we could find something so completely humorous that they genuinely and absolutely did not get. "Stupidest movie, ever!", proclaimed Tom, the mutual friend. That he and my buddy's girlfriend couldn't find a single thing to laugh at the entire movie was the greatest part--It was like having a private joke that was almost an hour and a half long!
This is my favorite comedy movie. Every scene is amazing. I like how the pretty blond model girlfriend turned manager is on the stage with a tamborine like Linda McCartney.
In fairness to Linda, she could at least play some keyboards but yeah, definitely got the job because her actually talented and famous partner. Just like the dreaded *coughs* Yoko Ono *coughs*
@@michaellrakes5521 Even though Linda (Eastman) McCartney wasn't a very good musician, singer, she was a very good wife and mother. Paul McCartney second wife was a real Bi*$7#
@@michaellrakes5521 I think that's why Paul did it. it was "Well if John can replace me with his untalented wife, I can replace him with my much nicer but untalented wife."
That one guy is the most polite heckler of all time. No shouting, no booing, no throwing drinks... Just quietly sitting with a "thumbs down" gesture.
Yes! Silent, but complete disapproval!
I do that sometimes to bands or buskers that really suck...I thank this film for inspiration
He's not mad, he's just disappointed.
I love how he trys to deflect it to derek.. “he wrote this” LmAO!!!
He was referring to Derek's improvised bass solo....😂
@@JohnBock-nq9lr he was referring to the song, which is one of Tap's finest.
I always love hearing early floyd
Classic "girlfriend on tambourine" motif.
Like the IT Crowd when Jen destroys Sweet Billy Pilgrim
center stage too
FUCKIN YOKO
To be honest Jazz Oydessy starts off decent
Yeah…the Sketches of Spain style motif like Miles Davis…then free jazz 😂
They could of gotten 10 albums out of that at least
@@FreeBrunoPowroznikNot only that, they could have done it as well, just with better grammar.
"We're not going to perform a free-form jazz odyssey for the first time, in front of a Festival crowd"!
As a native of Stockton, CA, this was my hometown's proudest moment.
I'm in Tehachapi, not too far behind you..hahaha
There really is no better parody of the world of Rock Music--this is it.

i really think they had something w/ "jazz odyssey".
Best parody of rock & roll I have ever seen

You know you're in trouble when you're playing free bass jaz

This is so true. I've been through with bands.
Such a fine line between clever and stupid.
They really put Stonehenge on the map.
They are not about to perform a jazz exploration in front of a festival crowd.
They weren't about to... but they did. Derek's dream fulfilled.
Nigel wrote this
"a festival crowd" hahahah kills me every time
I told them a thousand times, put spinal tap first and puppet show last 😂
If I told them once, I told them 1000 times…Spinal Tap first, puppet show last.
Puppet Show and Spinal Tap😂😂
Nigel really held the band together
This is where I fall asleep.
The best of British. ❤
reminds me of 'LUCID 5' going back to Huntington College!!
People should envy us
I’d envy us.
MAGIC MOUNTAIN!
Sadly, they just tore down that theater. I saw some cool shows there back in the 80s and 90s.
You know things have gone awry when the puppet show has top billing.
They did get a bigger dressing room than the puppets.
I envy us!
Guitar Center Approved
In stockton ca. Really shows how rock bottom they hit
Second-billed to a puppet show, no less!
But they have a bigger dressing room than the puppets.
@@flyjarrett Tough call on which act gets more groupies, though.
wonder if New Direction got their name from this 🤔
Hahaha 😂 jazz odyssey

C’mon man don’t do deep purple like that. 🤣
Derek Smalls… he wrote this. Oh the accusation.😂
