Klonoa 2 is the sequel to the PS1 original Klonoa: Door to Phantomile. It's a super addictive, and fun 2.5D platformer that, while it doesn't do anything new, is refined as games of this type get. You've seen everything this game has to offer before, but Klonoa 2 holds on to the best elements of the genre. This is a must play for fans of 2D platformers. -

Not gonna lie, I feel a little bit of joy in my soul every time I hear that "Wahoo!"
Joseph FUCKING SAME.
Me too, buddy.
I'll drink to that!
Ah, nostalgia.
Also Pennaz91.
I need it as a text tone
Thumbs up if you had this game in your demo disc.
filipeflower broooo lol I had it
JD STUNNA Good times.
Yes I Remember but it's been a while since I played it ahh the memories
filipeflower i owned the game...
This game is my first and life
I had this game when I was 5. It was so long ago that I thought I had just imagined it. 12 long years and I finally know the title. I can't cope with the nostalgia right now...
+Avalarr haha same omg
+Avalarr are we all the same person, cuz this literally happened to me as well...i had the japanese version, so it took even longer since i didn't speak japanese.
same here
I played it with my cousin in Lebanon and I found it by going to /r/ps2 and finding the post on the sidebar with hidden gem games. Then I found it and I can finally finish the game I never finished. It was so much fun
I had the demo as a kid and I played this water level all the time. Completely forgot about it
The fact that nobody talks about this game baffles me. Just the sound design alone is better than some whole modern triple A games.
Welp, now we got chance to get Klonoa 2 BIIIG, since it will get remake
This game was so underrated
91 Metacritic Score and 9.1 User score..
Well Klonoa is my favorite Goat. But it was universally loved despite it’s poor sales.
@@lucasandrescosta391 i think the poster means the sales were terrible.
It's really sad to see that almost nobody is interested in this kind of game anymore. Not that it was famous when it came out for that matter. It was my very first game on the PS2 and I distinctly remember how I wasn't interested in trying it at first for some reason, but as soon as I did I was instantly hooked. The music, colors, and graphics are amazing in this game and have really held up quite well even to this day in my opinion.
Unfortunately, I suppose that we'll never ever see a sequel :(
What I really don't get is why Nintendo hasn't picked it up, because it really fits their style. Maybe it's because it originates from their old competitor.
dude the console war of the 90's is over
the least Namco could do is like a co-op like thing with Nintendo heck maybe put Mario in it
If i remember my childhood games i will play it no matter how it is
You know there is a sequel in the Wii right ?
@@chrisr529 Rather a PS1 (Door to Phantomile) remake, even though this PS1 game and Lunate's Veil are the best, and Namco wasn't developer of Klonoa for Wii.
Lunatea’s Veil’s remake and very much the series’ future was completely dependent to the Door to Phantomile’s remake on the Wii, and despite the fact critics DID enjoy and praised the game for the most part, the game flopped because it was veeeeery vaguely marketed at all, Bandai NAMCO very much didn’t support the game properly and just left the game in its own luck, kind of like Wario Land Shake It actually, but problem with Klonoa is that unlike Wario (at the time) he’s obscure as heck, so a lot of people just skipped the game because they didn’t know it existed.
And to be fair (sadly) Bandai Namco only marketed the first and second game, any other game that came out (excepting Klonoa Heroes) just got released like those direct to video Disney sequels, and all didn’t sell well because of that, the first one wasn’t released in a nice time so it didn’t sell nearly as wonderfully as it could’ve, but got a pretty good fan base, the sequel got released along PlayStation 2 legends that very much overshadowed Lunatea’s Veil, but the fan base was still there so sure, more games, but from there on, the series went down and down, with Heroes being the first attempt to revive the series, it even was featured in Namco X Capcom and all, but didn’t get the localization and ended up not helping one bit with that obscurity, then there was a webcomic that got canceled eventually and left with a cliffhanger, and the Wiimake was the final nail to the coffin...
I got to know the series thanks to a Nintendo Power Magazine that just had few blocks talking about the game with screenshots and positive reviews about it. But god I did have to do some deep research in order to find the name of the series, and I thank that action to this very day. Still waiting for Klonoa news, they’re actually kind of monthly, but veeeeery blurred, and the series gets referenced occasionally, as well as the movie they teased a long ago (but got ultimately canceled), Klonoa is still there.
Wow, I always thought this game wasn't that popular it's good to see other people enjoyed it as well me. I swear none of my friends had ever heard of this.
Oh my god... I almost cried. I was 6 when I started to play this gane. After 10 years I finally found the name of this game. I remembered my old PS2. Wow.
Also been trying to remember this for years now. Thank God for Dunkey.
Joseph Doyle Exactly this. I remembered the bit with the pendulum for so many years but couldn't work out the game.
major fucking nostalgia when he showed this i remember it so well even tho i forgot
Same! Thank you Dunkey for reminding me of this game :)
Joseph Doyle which video?
My childhood in one game
My first ps2 game, my parents also picked me up jampack 2000 I believe. Had a bunch of demos on there
(:
my late teens in one game ( wait.. is that weird? )
I used to play this game when I was like 5 on a demo cd for the ps2 and I never new what the name was... years later I finally find it and I'm trying not to laugh about how nostalgic it feels!!!
Jampack!! I think it was the 2001 edition!!!
Rachel Rae YES that was what it was!!!!
+Knox Same. Mine came with "Dark Cloud", "Airblade", "WWF Smackdown"and "World Rally Championship". I've just started looking up the games, the nostalgia is mad! :)
+Chip MC Same here :D
+Chip MC same here the smackdown and this were fucking amazing xD
Aw man, this game is so awesome. The last time I played this was like 2001-ish and I was still in high school...
Such awesome memories! PS2 really had some amazing games.
I finally found this game after like ten years! I remember playing the demo all the time. This isn't available on my ps3 and I'm so sad but Door to Phantomile is.
Čudi me da je neko s naših prostora uopšte znao za Klonou, inače fantastičan serijal.
I loved this game... in every stage I was playing I took at least 5 minutes admiring how amazing this game is... congratulations to Namco. This game is so wonderful.
Damn i used to love this
*1 Decade later
I wish I could play this game again
"while high"
It took me like 12 years to find this... words cant describe my happiness.
ITS BEEN 10 YEARS I KEEP THINKING ABOUT THIS GAME AND NEVER REMEMBER THE NAME IT WAS JUST BLURRED MEMORIES FROM MY CHILDHOOD NOW I FOUND IT I WANT TO CRY
Games like the Klonoa series are like...polished colored jewels when you hold them up to light. ^_^ It's sad that games like these are so underrated while the ugly games get all the publicity. -_-
One of the first PS2 games I got back in 2003 when I was 5, feels like yesterday for real. Such a fun and beautiful game.
BEST GAME EVER. I WISH I COULD PLAY IT AGAIN. LAST TIME I PLAYED IT WHEN I WAS 8-10 YO NOW I'M 19.='(
You'are 24 now. XD
@@agni.3682 *Lmao* Yes I'm, I totally forgot about this comment I made *lol* it's so weird looking back at it, Also I wanna say that my wish came true i got to play it again! 😌♥️
soundtrack got me in my feelings
Used to play this over and over again!!!! Great game.
One of the first games I ever played when I was 6 years old. Sony need to get this on PS4 I'd buy it in a heartbeat
Oh my god I miss this game so much! I used to play it all the time. I need to buy it again.
I thought i made this game up in my mind. Holy shit what a nostalgia trip
This game is absolutely perfect! The characters are so charming and fun. The level design is easy enough but also challenging enough, plus there are extra challenging bonuses, too, if the player wants to go after them. And most importantly, for me anyways, the story is great! And the music is amazing as well! Oh, and I love the way the camera angles change throughout the levels. That is absolutely perfect, too!
I've never played either Klanoa games and as a PlayStation collector I'm not sure how this passed me by. I'm going to buy them right now.
When I was seven I remember my mother allowed me to rent this game from a video store for a week. I was joyed when that same video store abruptly closed and never cared to get back its rentals, so I got to keep it. Good times.
Same here. I remember when I was also seven, my older brother took me to Gamestop to go buy a Ratchet and Clank game I wanted. Sadly they didn't have any copies. My brother then showed me a box for Klonoa. Since I didn't want to leave empty handed I decided to to buy this one instead. While not as action packed as Ratchet and Clank I still immediately fell in love with Klonoa 2. I still have the game to this day but unfortunately can't play it after having to give away my PS2 to my younger cousins.
GOD THIS IS REALLY NOSTALGIC TO ME!!!!
I used to love this game on my PS2 WHILE IT STILL WORKED 😭😭
I am sorry for that
This was my first PS2 games, loving the nostalgia!
One of the iconic games of my childhood, together with sonic adventure 2.
I remember for my birthday shard and tails doll got me this game in 2000
This is the perfect childhood game ever....
This is the best game ever (in my opinion)
I remember it being amazing! I might try and go track down a copy.
axel nussbaumer Just download pcsx2. It is a Ps2 emulator to pc.
I agree, and Dark Cloud
@@GamerReef pcsx2 I have problem's with it sound effect's are non existant and I can't fix it I really want to play it really disappointing
@@Kyechi Yeah I also tried playing it on pcsx2 but had the same issues. The only thing left to do is buy an old ps2 and play it there I guess
Still own my first copy of my Klonoa 2. I was sooo happy when my mother got it for me. I watched her play it first before doing so myself. Such a charming and fantastic game, too bad not many people know of it. The Wii remake was alright, but nothing compares to this one imo. :)
I love this game and i miss the old time haha 😭😁
This game brings back so much good memories. Nothing but joy.
Used to play this game when I was a kid on my PS2 I still remember the games plot unlike most recent games that I played. Those were the good old days l wish that maybe one day they will release klonoa for the ps4
The memories.
With Sony releasing classic PS2 games on PS4 hopefully this game is on the list of potential releases... I remember playing the crap out of this game back in the day and I'd love to play it again on PS4... Plus with me being a bit of a self admitted trophy whore The chance to play this game again with the addition of trophies would be awesome lol
Loved this game, but mostly used to watch my older sister play haha.
This was my first ps2 game, I was in grade 7 (2003) . Really hits the feels!
This brings me nostalgia 🙏
Loved Klonoa!! I remember playing all of the Jampack discs! Zone of The Enders is right up there with this game so is Sly Cooper and Jak and Daxter
omfg i was searching so hard for the name of this game that i forgotten years ago, tried rabbit flying with his ears collecting green diamonds but to no avail, finally i found it.
GOD can you imagine a remaster of this? It could be so gorgeous with current graphics. The vibes are just impeccable lol
Guess what :)
Here is a crazy lil' story I got for you back in the day when I was getting this game:
Long ago in California during 2001 when the PS2 was fairly new I was in the middle of purchasing Klonoa 2 at a Walmart; since I missed out on the First one other than playing a Demo of it. There was this Walmart employee (20s possibly can't remember) who scoffed at how childish this game looked by calling it a "Baby's Game." She even asked me if I am sure that I wanted to get it hahaha just to be safe. Boy was she wrong! Klonoa 2 ended up becoming one of my all time favorites on the PS2 and was the 3rd game I owned next to Dark Cloud and Twisted Metal Black at that time.
To this day I do wonder whatever became of that Walmart employee and if she got to ever look into this series of games to fully grasp what it was outside of calling it a "Baby Game." Who the heck knows...
Its kinda sad that Klonoa is the type of the series that was unfairly misunderstood (based on the cover/artwork like in my story) and was just not marketed well. It sucks because a lot of people have truly missed out on this series! That and its one of the few series I know that isn't afraid to get into emotional and somewhat darker storytelling despite looking all cute from the surface. Which I was stunned by when playing this game all the way through back in 2001 and when I did get to revisit the First game in full a few years later. If they're truly reviving the series with a re-release of these classic installments they better do it right...
I remember when i was like 4 i had the first game and i loved it. such nostalgia.
Loved this game as a kid!
Omg the memories...the Feels!!!
If namco ever made more klonoa games, I'd be happy, and if they had english dub as an option, I would see a good replacement voice or two for the main character, like Haley Joel Osment.
The voices are talking in a nonsense language.
There are 8 klonoa games.
my first PS2 game. a classic. :)
Me encanta Klonoa 2. No sabía que existía para PS2. Me pondré las pilas para conseguirlo y jugarlo en mi PS2.
I had dis on jampack man memories just flowing in my head
Just reminds me of my childhood 😔 would play it in the morning before going to primary school!
I love this game so much. This was one of my first games ever -and a Disney princess game-
Well back to the title screen

His video sucked ass btw...
Johnny do do do do do Johnny do do do do do
I remember k-mart had the same demo disc for years, Klonoa 2 being one of the demos. I wonder where they dumped all old kiosks consoles?? They had a 3DO on one side at one point too lol
you bring such good memories in a bad way :(
Daayyuuum ummmmmmmm this brings back soooooo many children hood memories.. I LOVE IT
Aaaah the memories :)
But the guy playing is really bugging me; isn't a longplay supposed to clear everything? You know get all the emeralds and eggs? This looks more like a failed attempt at a speedrun.
EDIT:
But at least he didn't skip the cinematics :)
Klonoa looks like Pokota from Slayers. Just saying. He's one of my favorite childhood video game characters, thank you so much!
Man I just know that Klonoa 2 exists! After a lot of years, now I want to play it
Omg I used to love this game I wish I had it
OH MY GOD! THE NOSTALGIA HIT ME IN THE FACE! I had this game when I was like 6 and I could never figure out how to switch it to english. I was so confused!
It was my first ps2 videogame. I'm feeling too nostalgic.
Siempre que lo jugaba sentia una gran emoción, recuerdo que tenia 6 o 7 y no contaba con memory card, pero aún así siempre lo jugaba y lo terminaba, sin duda uno de los mejores juegos de mi infancia :)
This is bringing back memories
2021 my 1st ps2 game and I still love it
I used to play this game as a kid. Just got it as a present when I was still a kid. And I had literally no idea what the fook was going on, but I knew, deep down this was a good game, probably a part of me understood what was happening, the rest was pure instinct. I wish I could play this again, but the game is lost to me forever.
Huge nostalgia for a game I never played.
Um dos meus jogos favoritos do ps2, que saudades desse jogo
I finally found the game I’ve been looking for. I haven’t seen this game for at least 15 years omg 😩. I’ve been trying to will the name of this game back to memory for so long but I finally found it. This is the game that got me into games.
It'a coming back on Switch
Klonoa 1 + 2 = Phantasy Reverie

This game is incredible!
Wahoo!

When I got my PS2 for the first time I had this on my demo disc and I loved it like I enjoyed this game anyways I’m surprised I remember the amusement park scene but I could never remember the name of this game now I found it and am thinking of re purchasing a PS2 it’s made my night honestly because I struggled to find this game for years
i got this on a demo and it was so addictive ^_^
I know, I was at a campsite with this... ended up pulling an all-nighter with the demo!
i wish i could go back in time to when i first played this
Hopefully this gets a release on PSN for the PS3 or PS4. It's one of my favorite games.
had it for ps2 many memories
I only played this game sometime from picking it up on a blockbuster, golden times.....
I miss this game so much
This game is mega rare now, bet loads of people wish they’d kept their old games
Love this game!!!
my childhood omg
I had this game when I was 13
who was playing this game? I Watched the longplay of Klonoa: Doorway to Phantomile and the guy playing that made sure to get everything, not get hit once, and pretty collect everything, this guy looks like a god-damn amateur compared to the one in the first game
wait. you saying that Longplay is more than one person?
7:04 Okay, yep, definitely a different guy at the controls
Thank god for emulation on the Wii U. Game is 200.00$$$$$ on EBay!! Emulation is so important to the preservation of wonderful games like this. So many memories playing this with my sister.
AHH the memories 😍
I remember this game was on the demo disc delivered in the ps2 box
I used to play this when i was 8 such memories
Damn 20 Years already Happy bday
I have this and a PS2 somewhere. I might have to get it out to have another playthrough. I think the last time I played this must have been about 5 years ago, or more.
mi infancia! :')
The best childhood :)
