  • The new album, "The Music of John Lewis," is a tribute to the late jazz composer and pianist. Lewis was a mentor to Wynton Marsalis, the album's executive producer. Marsalis and "Late Show" bandleader Jon Batiste, who plays in the album, joins "CBS This Morning" to discuss Lewis' impact on jazz and President Trump's proposed budget cuts to the National Endowment for the Arts.

Fantastic music at the lincoln center with some of the best players all around, shame their budget is being cut since they really captivate the history of jazz and attract youngsters like myself. Props to Batiste for his great music too and for being my favorite show in late night, tied with John Oliver for my favorite show all around. Keep up the good work guys, don't let the budget and general judgment by people of standards like Trump's discourage you.

I did NOT like how Gail disregarded Mr Wynton in this interview, often addressing him in 3rd person. And she did not address him as Wynton. I could feel Wynton and Jon’s vibe and they clearly felt more comfortable with Charlie and the other journalist. That’s why they never really gave her eye contact. They are REAL and authentic! Gail is superficial truly has no respect for accomplished black men!
