I read up on it, and titanium dioxide is also used as food coloring (E number is E171), although most of its usage is in paints, varnishes, paper and plastic. It's also used in skin care products as thickener and sunscreen. The inhalation of its nanoparticles might cause cancer, but this was only observed in people working in dusty environments. Human studies showed no assosiation between exposure to TiO2 and increased cancer risk. The EU has banned the usage of it in foods in febuary this year. I understand if people would like to avoid this compound, but personally, I don't see any problem with it being in tampons. Just wanted to make sure people don't immediately assume the worst.
I bet you would have a problem though if someone smoked a cigarette around you. I got cancer of the uterus, so , who knows, this may have been what caused it.

Anecdotal, but I stopped using tampons for menstrual cups and washable pads strictly because I did the math and my period cost about $250-$300 a year to finance. "It's banned almost everywhere." - In the EU it is banned exactly since ten days ago, August 07th, 2022. And not for being actually harmful but as a precaution, as it *can't be ruled out* that it _might_ be carcinogenic.

Here’s the thing. The titanium dioxide will NOT be absorbed in the body, in fact the brand he showed L. has less then 0.01% in their ingredients. In fact, they use it in the STRING! It will NOT effect your reproductive health, and it won’t make your period heavier. The reason your period seems heavier with tampons is because after they absorb what they can hold they essentially block the continuation of your flow. This warning is basically useless, you can still use your normal pads and or tampons, I know I will. Please ladies do your research. It took 2 seconds on google to find out that this won’t have any effect on your body. We come in contact with higher doses of titanium dioxide in products other then our pads and tampons such as candy, coffee creamer, baking and cake decorations, white sauces, gum, cheese, toothpaste and so much more. If you’re worried about it in your tampon then boy are you going to be worried when you find out all the common FOOD it’s in.
It shouldn't be in any of the products that we eat, drink, put on our skin or inside our vaginas. Companies can and do make quality products that aren't full of harmful ingredients. It's not really dangerous though and is considered extremely safe when not ingested. It's been banned only in certain areas on the globe only as a food additive and is still widely used to give a brighter white color to other materials such as porcelain.
Why would you want it inside your body, where it is literally soaking in your bodily fluids, and could be absorbed into your vagina, uterus or anywhere else?

Tampons and pads being white helps noticing if your discharge changed color tho.

When you see the brand you use in the example: welp, fuc-
A lot of these do damage over time too....so at least now you know! ❤️ You should also avoid wearing polyesters, and definitely rayon and if you can get rid of all PVC possible (lead and cadmium... etc). PVC is in my car but if I at least limit other exposure it helps.
A lot of masks are actually made of microplastics like polyester and "suddenly" studies are showing that many people are having breathing problems due to microplastics in their lungs and blood. And they try to say it's from the landfills.....not what literally has been right on people's faces this whole time..and some silicones are toxic and in beauty products and soaps etc.

If you’re worried about it in your tampon then boy are you going to be worried when you find out all the common FOOD it’s in.
It shouldn't be in any of the products that we eat, drink, put on our skin or inside our vaginas. Companies can and do make quality products that aren't full of harmful ingredients. THANK YOU KING😭✋🏼
Thanks for the heads up Bob. Wished I known this back in the 70s.
Never used tampons in my life and I am 35 , I don’t know how and I don’t think I would like it anyway. The simple the better, I just use organic pads and drop few drops of essential oil to help ease the cramps …. 😎
Several years ago -seems every few years -we see reports like this which is very informative. Women have died from toxic poisoning from tampons. Thank u for information
That has nothing to do with what is in the tampons, but the mecanism of how tampons work: plugging up causing the blood to interact whit the bacteria in the vagina causing toxic shock of not changin them often enough. There is titanium oxide in bandaids, but they don't interact with wound, nevermind the bleding that is happening in your uterus, that bleeds out of your uterus...the tampon is in your vaginal canal, nowhete near the source of bleeding
Toxic shock syndrome is caused by a toxin producing bacteria not the tampon itself.

Never knew this, thank you for sharing!
There is no evidence that titanium dioxide is dangerous unless it's inhaled. Don't get your medical advice from a TikTok or UA-cam short.
“Banned almost everywhere but the US”
Oh thank god
It is not banned like he said. They just don't put it in their food. LoL
I was holding on to my chair real tight because I was hoping that the seven generation one was on the good list lol thank heavens it is!! 😂💕
He’s literally spreading misinformation. This isn’t true at all (they may contain titanium dioxide but they it doesn’t cause cancer or anything)
not me watching this while wearing one of the toxic brands… i’m so sorry coochie i’ll do better i promise :(
I threw out mine and now I have to buy new ones by the end of the month or I’m screwed. Luckily I have the honeypot ones and noticed immediately I was in less pain than I normally was

I'm 50 and I never used a tampon and don't ever plan to. I lie, I did once in my 30s and I cried and said nope not for me. We're supposed to be 1 of the greatest countries but the things they allow to be put into things we consume are crazy. Smh anything for a buck even at the price of their citizens. I think as women we need to fight against things like this.
“look for something that doesn’t have titanium dioxIDE-“
When I started buying Organyx, my cramps stopped and much less bleeding. I didn't even realize why.
I had the same experience when I quit using them too..
That’s crazy. I’m starting to question my whole life
@@robinvaldez seriously! I hate wearing pads but when I do there is a noticeable difference in my cramps and the amount I bleed. Probably because there isn’t something plugging my up and my body is able to release the waste naturally!
Same! I love that brand! So I glad I switched
Some women reported they had miscarriages becoz of this ingredient too. I just saw those videos recently
Interesting Bobby, I never paid much attention on this! Thank you! 🤔🫶🏼✌🏼
This just showed up randomly on my feed, and I shared this with three women in my life, he just changed there life, so thank you very much
Bro, he's wrong. Read the comments
You were never taught to not believe everything you read on the internet, and now you're affecting others with your gullibility. That's shameful, not something to brag about.
Thank you for breaking this down & giving us the healthier options💕 I'm shocked.
For 2 of the nearly 3 decades I’ve been having my aunt visit me, I would ALWAYS say “I CANT use tampons. They make me bleed like a stuck hog. (I’m 5 foot tall, and MAYBE 100 lbs soaking wet, and everyone says I *shouldn’t* have a heavy flow.) Now I know why. I’m not crazy. It’s the ingredients. Been using a cup for around a decade and noticed a 50% drop in the flow amount and also shortened by 2-3 days when I do have it. (iud birth control so period is wonky)
I bleed SO much less since I stopped using tampons and disposable pads, I put it down to hormonal changes but I'm not sure.
I love my cup!
Cups are such money savers!
Titanium dioxide isn't dangerous, people are just fear mongering, a quick google search brings up article after ariticle of OBGYNs disapproving this
Wow! I literally just switched to this brand a few months ago thinking it was a better choice than ob. Thanks for this video!! Just in time for me. I appreciate you Bobby!!
Same. And literally ran out yesterday. Guess what I won’t be buying!
Same here. Time for the switch. Thanks Bobby!
Ladies just think for a second🙄, this dude is just screamimg buzzwords, no tampon that is in your vaginal canal is going to effect the bleading that is happening in your uterus that comes through the cervix🙄
@@gilliantaylorr7854 The babypowder that caused cancer had asbestos in it!. The toxic shock affect is not from what is in the tampons, but from how they work: it is not applied directly to the bleed, but plugging up , so the blood and uterine lining is 1) in a warm wet enviroment 2) reacting with the bacterial flora of the vagina 3) not changing the tampons often enough and washing out. 1+2+3 = toxic shock, not effing titanium oxide. A scary word does'nt meand it causes harm 🙄 . Chloride is a toxin, Sodium Chloride is just salt. This dude is just a grifter like everybody else pushing stuff on youtube. 2-3 years ago he told a brand of protein powder was the only thing he used until he started selling his own, and then the earlier brand was the devil aswell

I love how people misinterpret science for views. Titanium dioxide is safe. S-a-f-e.
It's not a derivative of paint: it's a natural mineral that is used in paint.
The increased bleeding was only observed in *mice* who were *fed* massive amount of it. If you ate a few bowls of sand you'd probably feel pretty ill too.
TiO2 was tested for carcinogenity multiple times, and never had any sort of influence on cancer rates.
Titanium dioxide is the safest sunscreen we have nowadays. That "mineral sunscreen" you use? The mineral is titanium dioxide. That really nice makeup with great coverage? Probably titanium dioxide too. The walls of your house? Same thing. Your white bed linen? Same thing. That titanium piercing you got? The surface of it turned to titanium oxides which is what prevents it from rusting. Got a titanium prosthetic? That same layer of oxides is what makes it much more biocompatible.
Stop the fear-mongering. Just because an ingredient is slightly hard to pronounce that doesn't make it dangerous. Next thing we know, someone will be touting the dangers of dihydrogen monoxide.
Idk man. When I switched to organic cotton pad I had less pain and less blood and I know others who have the same experience

Guys please don’t take this at face value. A simple google search will tell you that titanium dioxide in tampons is not dangerous and has little to no effect on reproductive health.
Thank you for using your brain. I left my own comment pointing out that the guy talking about titanium dioxide never explained how or why it's bad.
yea the internet also says red 40 is safe which we all know is a lie

Nah cause he's absolutely lying through his teeth.
@@veronicaelders4823 no amount of any carcinogen should be going inside your body even if the amount is “safe” it’s an unnecessary ingredient and classified as a carcinogen shouldn’t be there period
@@spellmanshadows5567 its only classified as a cancer causing if you breath it, which for tampons you dont
@@spellmanshadows5567 It's a naturally occurring mineral found in everything; including sunscreen. The UK Food Standards Agency and Food Standards Scotland disagreed with the EFSA, as did Canada, and it's not banned in either of those countries despite his claim.
What is banned, is it as a food additive in those countries. But it's still used in other products in Europe. Including in tampons.
It cannot be absorbed through the v/g/na, nor can it be absorbed through the skin. Even if you inhaled it in your makeup, it doesn't even reach your lungs. You'd have to be exposed to an absolutely huge amount of it, and even then, there is no supporting evidence that it is harmful.
There are so many studies that contradict his claims. He's not even talking about the correct form of titanium dioxide, but tio^2 nanoparticles. Which are completely different.
Notice how he doesn't provide any source for his claims. No studies, no doctors, no names; nothing. Because it's all fear-mongering.

He's lying to you! Do not believe this man. Titanium dioxide cannot be absorbed into you by the body.
Titanium dioxide is a natural mineral it is non-toxic. It isn't toxic to skin and is a main ingredient found in most sunscreens. Some but very few people may have an allergic reaction to titanium dioxide. You are more likely to be allergic to gold, silver, nickel, or copper.
Titanium dioxide isn't a derivative of paint - that means that it comes from paint. It is an ingredient to paint - but also soap, makeup, candles and more. Its literally made of two elements Ti and O2 - go to 10th grade chemistry.
Hi, I'm studying Biochemistry in university and just because something is made of two elements doesn't make it "not unsafe" or "not dangerous". Take Hydrochloric Acid (HCl) it's composed of only two elements (Hydrogen and Chlorine) but it is extremely dangerous in high concentrations. It can cause severe burns just from minor skin contact. There are also elements on their own that are extremely radioactive like radium. Please don't throw ignorant assumptions around like that.
@theonlynickel you're so right. This original comment needs to revisit a couple of elementary chemistry concepts.
@@theonlynickelisn't titanium dioxide in toothpaste as well?

It can also be what they are eating, especially in the states, I saw videos of women going to Europe for a couple of months and their period changed in better
Way to inform women!!!! Thank you
Of course, big companies only sell them here in America.
I thought theyre still safe to use though, i think this video has some misinformation so definitely educate yourself on this stuff without just taking everything from this video as true.
Why would you want to put ANYTHING in your body that's not organic? Like smoking, they used to encourage that shit until people started dying. Your body doesn't need anything but organic natural stuff. Anything else is just going to cause problems from minor to huge long term problems
Oh it's complete bs, the only potential problem with TiO is that it might possibly be genotoxic if ingested, that's literally it, plus that's only in regards to high levels of intake. Eating a can of soup is more dangerous than a tampon or a pad as far as TiO is concerned.
Titanium dioxide isn't dangerous, people are just fear mongering, a quick google search brings up article after ariticle of OBGYNs disapproving this.
Time to inform my mother.
Porcelain is also covered in a protective coating and is usually not out inside your body for hours at a time.
You do realize that our skin is our largest muscle and that whatever we put on it is absorbed and processed through the kidneys...that includes being exposed to Titanium Dioxide in your uterus.
Wake up.
Needed this bc I’ve been looking for brands that weren’t harmful to my cootie cat lol
