Knipex pliers are THEE best in my opinion. I own every electrical tool they make, water pump pliers from 4" up to 22" and their snap ring pliers. Had one failure on a set of crimpers and they were replaced under warranty. I'm an industrial maintenance technician and my tools feed my family. They're not cheap.....but nothing good ever seems to be. Took delivery of my 1st tractor 2 days ago. 2023 BX23s and have been binge watching ur videos between service calls. Looking forward to Saturday, cant wait to try it out.
Best set of snap ring pliers I've found is Irwin. They have the interchangeable pins, but the whole end of it swaps out. Pretty solid construction, I've never had any issues. with them.
I broke the same piece on my BX25 and Davis Equipment came through for me. I rewatched the intro 3 times thinking, “ There’s no way that’s Davis, but it looks just like it!” Then you said it! Love the channel and content!
I think I've seen every BX video out there and 2 thoughts, 1) Peeks Peak is the best! 2) the ONLY 2 Lift Arm failures ive heard of, are BOTH near Davis Equipment, they helped, but why only there, something in the water? ...😎
If I learned anything from you and Brian from Piney Grove, is that repair in all those toys, better you do your best for them to be done by you. It adds up quickly. Glad you fixed it.
Your best bet for snap ring pliers is to get a complete set with fixed tips. I bought a Snap On set more than 20 years ago and they still work trouble free to this day.
Any part you do not put anti-seize on you will inevitably have to take apart in the future with lots grief - Any part you put anti-seize on will probably never have to be taken off again - such is life! The Honda dealer assure me that if I purchased the most expensive snowblower they offered it would never snow - I did not take him up on that offer but every so often in January I wish I had.🙂
Thank you for this video Lucas. I have wondered if the bouncing of the mower deck as I am running around the yard on my 2380 could have any negative effects. Ours may be the updated version as we bought it in 22 but I'll have to check it out. Thanks for breaking yours so I hopefully don't break mine! 😅👍
I did the B2601 right out of the starting gate and never regretted it. Could have gotten by with the BX except for the ground clearance and loader lift capacity. - BX is an exceptional machine for smaller acreage and a forest with already established trails. All Kabota products are expensive this year!
BIG QUESTION: Would 'parking' the MMM at the "TOP" dial setting have protected/ avoided, the bouncing stresses on that 3p lift arm? BTW this channel is the single best for real life hard working, for what breaks, why and repairs. I am using mine hard as well, 60 hrs in 3 weeks, clearing forest.
If I remember right, the dealer seemed to think the stress would still be there even with it locked to TOP, but I am just not certain. I will try to get under there and look it over and see if I can figure it out. Thanks for the comment!
i tore up a 3 pt quick hitch with my offset rear blade. I bent the whole top link hook due partially to bushing issues. But I also had it in a major bind digging trenches in hard ground with the rear blade offset fully. Felt like an idiot. BUT also recognized I was putting major side and offset loads on the kit and needed to go slower and take less of a bite. Been there....
2:08 Imma gonna guess what, 'Probably caused our problem'... was mowing a boulder, brush hogging trails with the mower deck? ;) Just a preliminary guess before continuing on with the video...
@@PeeksPeakHobbyHomestead Yeah, well ya know, I am just jealous as I don't have a mid-mount mower on my tractor, so.... yeah, I am a little butt hurt. LOL
Easy enough to fix for ya. If u want a really good pare of snap-ring tool is snap on or Mac tools yes there are a lot of $$ but built to last and will not break on u i hate snap ring tools always brake them till i got snap on ones
Nice repair! Instead of one pair with removable tips, I got a 4 pack of snap ring pliers from Lowes, Craftsman brand. Two inner pliers and two outer ring pliers. They've been solid!
That is what I’m going to look for. I didn’t know Lowe’s had a Craftsman set. With a lifetime warranty, that seems like the way to go. Thanks for sharing.
Everything is so tightly fitting that it doesn’t leave much room to work in there.
*Keep on tractoring!*
It is tight for sure! Glad we got it fixed so we can get back to work! 👊

Right on! Yeah, Davis is the best! Small world.

Snap rings sole purpose in life is to double amount of time to do a repair! Good fix. Tractor Hard! 🚜💪!
Truth.
Lucas: more good info. I do not have the mid mower mount, but I will check my part today. Take care and stay safe.
Thanks for watching!

It would and I’m hard on equipment. Lol

I think you are right.
We use proto snap ring pliers here at work and not the ones with the removable tips, They always break.
Proto, I’ll check into those. Thanks!
a set of icons from harbor freight is a strong looking set in stead of changing the pins there's a deferent pair of pliers for what you need
Good info and a great video, Lucas. And I agree 100% on the s*#tyness of most snap ring pliers...total crap!😖
Thanks, Chris. I’ll find some decent snap ring pliers eventually. Lol
I think we all have a love/hate relationship with anti-seize.😂
Right?! 😂

I would have used grease because that's all I have 😆.

That’s kind of what I do! Lol. I work it hard and share how it goes. 🤷🏼♂️😂
I have ATD fixed points set I'm happy with. Snapon trucks stops by Tuesday I will get a price check for you :)
Lol. I glanced at eBay. Seems like I can get a snap on set for around $160… I haven’t decided which route to go get.
@@PeeksPeakHobbyHomestead If you need a bigger tool box he had a $45000.00 one on his truck Tuesday .
I really like my Icon snap ring pliers from Harbor Freight.
I’ve heard Icon tools are pretty solid. Thanks for the suggestion!
I ended up trading in my trusty BX for a new B-2601. It’s a bigger more robust unit which should alleviate these issues. Loving it so far!
Glad to hear that! I may head down that same road eventually…

Can you get me the link of the mmm deck adjustment? I saw your comment on a short, but couldnt get it to link. Nice tutorial here!

I am willing to invest. I will check on getting a set of those. Thank you for sharing! 👊
You can take that one can of anti seize and paint a barn
Do you have the part number for ordering it? I have to replace one for a friend.
I just called my local dealer and they ordered it for me.
