How do you figure out which shape will look like what in 3d?

I imagine the finished shape and then choose which type of 3D (Inflate, Revolve, Extrude, Plane) can make the shape.

That actually is a very good question. With practice i guess one can figure out! But i’m sure it took him many tries to achieve this!
