Ah , when you needed to be a powerful player to do double bass , he can hear how he’s smacking those bass drums, I know there’s faster nowadays but a lot of that is those horrible direct drive pedals and cheating triggers, I’m in my 40s and I can do slayer, deicide and so on but I still use chain or preferably strap drive pedals, I have custom tama speed cobra 910 pedals with custom straps and Iv gotta say Iv never had it so easy, the long boards on those pedal have made it at least 50% easier . ( still got hefty nylon beaters on though)
Triggers don't do the work for you... They amplify the sound especially at higher bpm. How exactly are they cheating? They work very well in conjunction with mics to give a great clean audible sound of faster double bass. The drummer still plays with the same intensity. Educate yourself.
Anthony Angel "cheating" cause u actually don't need to step heavy in the pedal, for example, to make a good sound, just a little touch to make a loud trigger sound, and thats for tom drums, floor drums, snare and Cymbals too, i prefer the natural sound of the drums, not that sintetic stuff, some trigger sounds are cool, but i still think the "acoustic" one is a lot better, i really dont know why today's metal bands drums sound, sounds all the same...

Man lombardo is the reason why slayer sounded different than other thrash metal bands. Absolutely legend.
