I love that the show describes Batman differently depending on each child's imagation, it's a clever excuse to explore multiple different styles of the same character with different power sets etc. I haven't seen the show and this is just my belief from the Amv itself. Though one thing always remains it's that batman always protects the children over chasing after the villain. I think the Villian is also clever too, a blank character that has slight monster characteriscs and who's powers can change dramicatlly depending on the circumstance, a place holder for the child's brain as a way to show how they were never scared of the villain but in admiration of Batman. This Idea is a far more far fetched and probably wrong assertion but under the guise that each one of the children are telling their stories to the child at the very end who saves batman it would make sense they forget the various villains and resolve to a form of confirmation bias in the story's of their friends.

Yeah this was the first in an anthology and at the start it was from other characters perspectives so for the first two Batman varied drastically but this stylistic view was something I fell In love we know he’s flesh and bone but Gotham they don’t one day he could be fighting alongside gods the next against a mugger the very next getting his spine shattered and reappearing in under a month
That moment when you realize, Batman wasn't supernatural or sci-fy, but a regular dude in a bat costume.

Its crazy how kids brain works. I remember watching this when I was younger, being scared of son scenes, liking the animation but only understanding 30% of what was actually happening. Its crazy because of how engaged kids can get because of a cartoon they don't even understand is playing

Yeah I’m sort of disappointed we haven’t gotten a show or film from the perspective of Gotham citizens like this more often
i was like 9 or 10 when i saw this animation, i was terrified when each child described batman as a monster hero. i was like his monster dude just escape when you see him. until i saw him in the last scene. his just a man. a simple man with so much work and can bleed and injure. and get saved by a fan of himself? and then just go back pick the criminal,say thank you and disappear? bro i loved the idea of this animation. that was when my fav character become batman.

If memory serves me right it’s apart of the Gotham knight anthology that was meant to be set in the Nolan verse in different styles and such with Konroy doing some voice work

It's call Batman: Gotham knight (2008) and this was the first segment of this anthology film. It consisting of 6 stories with different anime art styles and takes place between Batman begins and the dark knight. Featuring the late great Kevin Conroy. You can probably find easily on blu-ray/DVD or catch it streaming on MAX (if that's an option for you) hope this helped 👍
what the fuck is with the first batman, the anime should be called batman's multiverse dark heroes or what since we are entitled to several batmans one after the other with the first one having the ability of shadows, the 2 th we would have said dracula bats vampire hybrid form and the last batman robot, at this level this anime turned my brain on this is batman weird 🤯
This was not some weird alternative universe versions of batman. This was the kids telling their tales of when they saw batman. This was how their young minds saw the bats.
