"Nazis on Crystal meth" sound like a grunge rock neo nazi band. XD Joking aside, there were all sorts of things the Nazi's and the military did in the war to try and boost their prowess. The best example is Pervitin, a precursor to modern crystal meth. During the offensive that would break through the Somme, all the German Tank Crew, Driving Personal, and pilots were on this stuff. It was designed to make sure they would be awake for at least 2 days straight during combat operations. This is one of the reasons why the troops movements were so swift and aggressive beyond French expectations. Even after the Allies had captured plans to the entire german operation, they didn't expect troops to pull off such a manoeuvre. How could thousands of troops pass such rough areas so fast without rest and forcing a noticeable build up and still be battle ready? A lot of heavy drugs, that's how.
@@islaymassive1530 I believe it was common on the Allied side as well. Pilots, and soldiers in the field were given drugs to help them stay awake during long flights/periods in battle.
"Panzerschokolade" and Schokakola are 2 different things. The first one contained amounts of drugs, the second one not. (you can buy the seecond one still today in its original form or in a milk chocolade form, they just have a way higher caffein value than normal chocolade)

After he got arrested by the Americans, they took of his morphine and put him on a diet. Many Nazi officials said that they didn't saw him looking so good in ages after that, and he recovered his eloquence so much that even Churchill though he would ruin the Nuremberg trials so he wanted him shot.
Many Opiate addicts get fat and that’s what happened to him . He was weaned off of morphine before his trial and he slimmed down nicely, he got his groove back and regained his sharp wittiness. Of all of the Nazis on trial Goring was the most engaging and entertaining accordingly to the translators , he was most likely able to make an authentic friendship with one who retrieved his cyanide capsule from amongst his personal effects . He was probably the most colorful and entertaining Nazi but his Opiate addiction blotted that all out .
@@oceanhome2023 Although not in fact an aristocrat he was the only leading Nazi comfortable in high society. He was also popular with soldiers - a German POW was asked why pictures of Goering were often more numerous in German barracks and soldier accommodation than pictures of Hitler - the POW said they followed Hitler who was over them, but like most German servicemen Goering liked wine, women and his 'graft' and German soldiers found him easier to identify with.
@@skoopsro7656 They never defined what they meant by it, however - Robert Ley came closest to a definition when he said socialism was "the relationship between the men in the trenches" of WW1. He also told German workers they would be real socialists when they got rid of their "distasteful" class solidarity. In other words, what Nazis called socialism bore little resemblance to what most people mean by the term. "National" took precedence over "socialist", both in word order and in reality. The Night of the Long Knives also killed off most leading Nazis like Gregor Strasser who actually believed in something that might be called socialism, and this was a major reason generals and big business approved of the action.

I first realized the extent of the drug use by Nazi Germany very recently, namely via documentaries on the American Heroes Channel. I knew Hitler was "rather medicated" shall we say but things like the use of meth by dive bombers and the troops during blitzkrieg warfare really cast a new light on early German victories, and to my knowledge I had not seen this connection made to this extent previously. I am glad you guys are covering this as well.

the fact that hitler was an addict of all "feel good" concoctions explains quite a bit
a wine decanter, a milk bottle, and a lava lamp. yep. looks like a chemistry lab to me. cute.
"Hitler is not a stable man"...is a understatement.
On a separate note, I have now stopped worrying and learned to love the bomb.
Yaaahoooooo!!!!!
Lawyer: "Oh, so you're a vegetarian? So was Hitler!"
Judge: "Guilty!"
lol best vid. " What could go wrong? "
Please make a sequel to this oh my god its so well done the lighting the set design fits it so perfectly the visuals its just so good.
Thankx. Good video. Reminds me of Jim Jones whose doctor constantly prescribed him Valium Mix that led to mass suicide, he had gone paranoid
I am disappointed you did not tell me about this channel Indie. After we went through the Great War together I thought we were brothers...
Just found this channel from a JRE Rabbithole. I like your narration, well done
I will add a comment to help you with the algorithm and because these videos fascinate me.
oooh i see you have a PANZERSCHOKOLADE ! can i have some of that good stuff? ;D
Indy! I haven’t seen you since the Great War, covering the sequel now no less. Good to see you again, old friend
The part of WW2 that you hardly ever hear about. This was amazing to watch and learn about.
You're welcome! Thanks!
Kids: Who was Adolf Hitler?
Me: Oh, well he was an "equal opportunity dope fiend"
Heisenberg is a German name after all. "Sag meinen Namen"
"Heisenberg"
"Du hast verdammt recht".
Another reason why modern proponents of fascism are allergic to the actual history of fascism. The behavior and very lifestyles of their idols cannot withstand daylight such as this.
I mean, gangsta rap culture looks as mild as malted milk compared to this loonery.
There is a lot of meme material in this! 😀
Never meet your heroes. And that rings true for Nazis aswell.
Theodore Morell was a Jew, and drove Hitler insane
@@UnclePutte The thing is that he wasn't insane, he was "extreme". Some things that changed with Morell's medication was that Hitler became extremely aggressive when he didn't receive his daily dose of (insert drug). I'm not saying that withdrawal and it's symptoms had anything to do with the Holocaust, I'm saying that Morell was a Jew, which is true, and that he drove Hitler insane, past his already extreme nature. It's just ironic, not saying that it was planned or a part of a conspiracy.
Edit: and yes sure he was suffering from PTSD and other similar conditions contracted from the Great War, as any soldier did, but he was not insane, twisted , not insane.
@@alexanderbilbo I mean can a man who is insane get most people of a country on his side and exploit many flaws in his country's constitution to take over?
Not gonna lie that doctor kinda rules
Wouldn’t mind him as my doctor
Amazing content
"Nazis on Crystal meth" sound like a grunge rock neo nazi band. XD
Joking aside, there were all sorts of things the Nazi's and the military did in the war to try and boost their prowess.
My grandfather was addicted to Fliegerschokolade. Not pretty :-(
What is Fligerschokolade made of?
@@islaymassive1530 Methamphetamines
@@davidgorny4766 Holy fuck thats insane
@@islaymassive1530 I believe it was common on the Allied side as well. Pilots, and soldiers in the field were given drugs to help them stay awake during long flights/periods in battle.
Pervitin und Panzer - "Scho-Ka-Kola" to keep the troops moving!
Hans! Pass the Panzerkolade!
I keep a tin handy
"Panzerschokolade" and Schokakola are 2 different things. The first one contained amounts of drugs, the second one not. (you can buy the seecond one still today in its original form or in a milk chocolade form, they just have a way higher caffein value than normal chocolade)
@@nirfz Hi , I indeed got a reproduction tin from epic militaria last Christmas , it was very good chocolate!
@@frankwhite3406 I know a sort of supermarket that sells the tins of Schokakola around where i live. (As a non coffe drinker a whole tin is a bit too much caffein for me :-) )
Takk!
Thank god I found this channel I can’t believe it took me nine months to come across its existence

Tony the Tiger? 🐯
5:41 Göring was hella handsome during ww1, what happened lol
@@oceanhome2023 He probably talked a US Army lieutenant among his guards into giving him access to the cyanide capsule he used.

TIKhistory and INDY have videos about the same topic less than 48hrs apart. Interesting.
Both videos are good but, as with most things, I suspect the truth lies somewhere in-between.
Too bad TIK thinks the Nazis were socialists/leftists.
@@TheBreadB Their economy was socialist without doubt.
@@TheBreadB you know what NAZI stands for right...National Socialist German Workers' Party ...not much room to argue they arent socialist.
* sees topic and instantly feels reminded of the song "Nazis auf Speed" by Die Krupps * .. :)
Breaking Bad reference
I found out about the Great War channel to late. The week by week
approach really gives a whole other perspective, so I follow this one as
good as I can (works out pretty well so far), and I might rewatch the
Great War from July 28 on: EVERY EPISODE, WEEK BY WEEK!
“In fact, let’s just say it how it is: Adolf Hitler was not a very stable guy.” -Indy Neidell
The understatement of the decade. 😂
8:18 A-1 sauce considered toxic?
“High Hitler” ... brilliant, keep up with puns!
For some reason, UA-cam is just plain adverse to people telling the truth about anything, including history, so of course you get demonetized. Consider the wrath of UA-cam a badge of honor.
I got my copy of "Blitzed" the week it came out and found it not only fascinating but illuminating. It's that missing piece of the puzzle of how the lightning war was able to go so far so fast. Great read and can't recommend it enough.
