hey! first of all i'm so glad you did this class introduction about chord melody because it's all i ever wanted to do with my uke! i'm not a great singer so i intend to get good enough at playing to let my uke sing for me. Second of all... the little moment when you stopped to say that you were proud.... i know it's just a video but it really warmed my heart. As a teacher myself i try to compliment the effort of my student to help them progress and the fact that you're doing it in this video is so perfect :) . Third, you seems so nice we kinda want to grab a pint with you and discuss ^^. Have a lovely day and thank your for your work.
Hey thanks Tyler. I'm glad this lesson just popped up and I clicked on it. Although I already knew this song, what I know was the change with the Bb chord. from the 3, 2, 1, 1 to 6, 5. And makes my playing a lot easier and smoother.
First, HUGE Thank you as this is the first time I'm starting to understand the connection between the melody and chords, and second, thank you for the encouragement shout outs at around 9:40! Yes...this feels next level and a break away from chord strumming to more undertanding of this beautiful instrument. and it's fun!!!
Thanks for all your songs & styles, I'm recovering from an open surgery on my shoulder... Tried to hold my uke in my lap and play along 😢 not gonna share on Instagram... LoL... Been playing for quite some time, so I'll catch up. Thanks again!
The most important thing is learning! This is a lovely style of music and a highly rewarding type to play on the Ukulele, so your participation is welcome and we are very happy to have you even without the sharing on instagram, it is totally fine, welcome aboard!
No, they are very very very similar melodies. Both are based just chord tones, that is why they sound so very simliar. The riff in "Somebody I Used to Know" by Goyete is very similar too.
Thank you Tyler! I hope I can get to Day 10 :) Just one question, it's ok to just let ring the third beat on measure two? I like it better with the pause than with the strum. What do you think?
Not necessarily. Can you describe why? Are you singing it? Do you just find it more fun to play? We all gravitate towards different things, some people like ketchup, some like mustard, some like C, some like F, I LOVE Eb, it is my favorite.

Excellent tutorial. I’ve been doing lots of more complicated things and missing some of the underpinnings. Thanks!
Thank you for this. You are the first person that actually teaches this.
@@maryshipman1254 happy to hear you had fun with it!
I’ve been searching for this type of lesson forever now! Thank you so much. Not all of us can sing and this is how envisioned playing ukulele.

@@roderickdhont4887 Hello friend! Thank you for participating!
Hhhiiiiiiiii
Oh no, I missed the challenge :(
I hope there is going to be another one.. :D
Yes, we do 3 to 4 a year, about every 3 or 4 months. The next one is going to tentatively start on February 1st
my guy did not just say "September 1st is finally here"
Hi Sir! 🤔🙋♀️ does it matter if i have a low g or high g ukulele to do the chord melody challenges? Thank you 😊
When you played in C, did you remove e note from c chord in first measure?
My head just exploded!!!
BOOOOOM
My family will be happy when this contest is over because I haven't shut up about it since it was announced!
Hahahahha that is awesome!
Am I doing something wrong if I keep hearing ba ba black sheep instead when i switch to C.

Uke Noob yeah! If there is no melody letting it ring is always an option, for this song or any arrangement!
Which part shall we post 😁 F key I think is the best
♡
:)
I much prefer it in C does that speak on my playing at all?
Not necessarily. Can you describe why? Are you singing it? Do you just find it more fun to play? We all gravitate towards different things, some people like ketchup, some like mustard, some like C, some like F, I LOVE Eb, it is my favorite.
I'm proud of me too (melody: hard but sexy XD) but it's thanks to you for making it easy and accessible! Xx
just uploaded my melody challenge day 1
Which key do we do for the challenge?
Either one, whatever you are more comfortable with and you only have to do one.
Tag as a story on Instagram or a post ?
Either one works, the story is easier for me to keep track of though.
I don’t see the tabs
