Me also. About five or six week ago, I walked past a music instrument shop on Manchester Oxford Road. There was a Fender Telecaster in the window. I have been playing Stranglers videos on UA-cam ever since. It is a pity that Hugh C. had a bust-up with the other members but, o. k., that's life.

Sad to report that the MAGNIFICENT Jet Black died on 6 December 2022 at the age of 84. God bless you, Jet. And THANK YOU FOR THE MUSIC. One of the greats, a true drumming talent who never missed a beat. The Guildford Stranglers would never have formed without Jets ambition and the lure of his off-licence

There are no good healthcare benefits in the USA. Richest country in the history of world can't look after its wounded soldiers properly, let alone ordinary folks.

The Stranglers Black and White is in my opinion the greatest album ever made. A collection of songs that exudes bleak war torn imagery and references the cold war to great effect. (U2 and Joy Division went on to create dark music with war torn overtones but the Stranglers did it first on Black and White). The production sought to capture death and destruction with a stark sneer of cold command and entrenched paranoia that existed in the late 1970's. A true masterpiece - never bettered.

Saw The Stranglers years ago in Battersea Park. They played tank and a freaking tank appeared behind the crowd, firing blanks but at the back of the stage they had 'flash bangs' and put them into buckets. The back of the stage caught alight, just seemed so apt at the time. Fire extinguished and the show went on. Great gig and day out, Peter Gabriel was singing too.

Saw them for (only) the fifth and sadly final time Feb 2020 thankfully C-19 was a Chinese thing at the time and let's face it with either Hugh or Baz they are hands down the best live band ever and this is the fucking best. Saw them first in Adelaide Feb 1979 and Hugh was wearing the same coat, sad those days are gone. Perhaps when the curfew is lifted we'll get to see Baz and JJ unplugged doing the sweeter Stranglers songs. Keep well fellow Strangler fans. I'd insert some sort of emoji here but I'd rather say "live long and prosper".

I was 17, too, like most of you and it was my initiation to the more demanding side of PUNK! The Organ, the Bass, the Vox of Hugh Cornwell, the Trenchcoats! and we thought Jet came directly from a parkbank. White Rattus Heroes from 1976-78. The Beginning of the best Music Area ever in Underground-Music!

Ah yes, Peter Cook on Revolver. I was a 16yr old Stranglers fan watchin' this and just loving it. Then I saw the Jam on Setting Sons tour Dec 79 and that was it. Listening to this for first time since, still sounds fuckin' great,...can recall the excitement of back then. Awesome is an overused term these days, but this, in it's true sense is Awesome !!!!
