Your plot looks like mine! Lots of jobs to do when the weather improves. I loved seeing it because this is real!!! Please give us more videos!! We all love seeing your homestead. Happy New Year Stephanie and family x
I love how, amidst all the storm damage, there are many pockets of edibles dotted around. And how you know every inch of your garden and its inhabitants. Brambles encroaching uninvited, sunny gravel areas perfect for new planters, lost purple sprouting broccoli, asparagus in a crisis of development and so on. Happy gardening.
Yes, it is very much that there's something to repair almost everywhere I look just now. Snow forecast for today which will at least hide all of the jobs for me!!
What an amazing amount of food! I know many folks had it worse but you did get well and truly whacked. Don't be sorry about reality, no need at all to apologize. I am looking forward to watching all the changes you will be making and all the food you are and will be growing. Thanks for sharing! Marjorie New Jersey, US
Lots to look forward this Spring! Wishing you a very Happy New Year, and more sunny days ahead. Can relate to your wind storms here across the pond in Nova Scotia, Canada 🇨🇦
Lots of food there, Steph. Really interesting to hear about your plans for the year! One of your cats was desperate to be on camera 😂 Happy New Year! I hope you get some cold crisp weather🤞
I really enjoy your other social media posts. So a full walk round post storms is lovely. Thank you. I'm in sw Wales so also had a lot of wind and rain. And more rain when others are having snow. I find it refreshing seeing a slightly more realistic garden. Wishing you a happy new year.
@stephaniehaffertyhomesteading ahh would love ducks. We only have a semi detached garden. And neighbours complain if you so much as have a firepit. I am scaling back plans to just maintaining and a small seating area near the house for a cuppa. I don't feel big plans would work. I rehomed a glass house so hopefully get some use from that as earlier start. Hope we get a few dry days soon.
@@GardenMyselfHappy I lived in a semi before I moved here in 2021, but it was rural so the neighbours were used to ducks, chickens etc. Did get complaints about other things from one side, including trees
I'm in Oregon. I always enjoy your garden. Don't apologize for how your garden is. I love seeing your tours and your garden is a real garden with a real gardener. I too struggle with how much chop and drop and leaves to allow on the ground to protect it in the winter, but not create slug habitat. I covered a large bed with leaves, but I will have to rake them back as soon as it warms. I will probably just put them in the compost.
It's tricky isn't it? One thing I am thinking of doing is mulching with what I can, and then when I need to use the bed, raking it up and giving it to the ducks in their pen. They'll enjoy it, especially if there are any slugs. Will be interesting finding out how it goes.

Thank you Jenny and Happy New Year
enjoyed seeing a 'real' plot of land at this time of year. It's encouraged me to pop over to my allotment to get a few things done 🙂
I am so glad it was encouraging
Wonderful garden and I can see you are going to be busy, thank you so much for showing us!
Thank you - and yes, lots to do
Thanks for the tour...the amount of food you have in your garden at this time of year is truly inspiring! Greetings from North Wales!
Thanks Simon. Much appreciated

Thanks Annie, what a lovely way of describing it all

Accounting for the damage yet looking for the bright spots. 💚
Fighting 💪 while working WITH nature.
Thank you, what an uplifting way of describing it

Thank you Marjorie. Yes, we have been very battered here. Looking forward to sharing the updates this year
No apologies needed , its a living garden and beautiful in its own way :)
Thank you. I think it is lovely - if a bit squashed just now

Thank you and Happy New Year
There are so many storms these days 🌬💨 Good that you have a wood burner. Happy New Year 🎉🎆🎊 and all the best for 2025 🎇
Happy New Year! Yes, the woodburner is a real necessity when living somewhere rural

Well spotted! Thank you and yes, we've had some cold weather now thankfully and hopefully more over the next week.

Hello almost neighbour! Miserable weather here today. I was all excited about the snow but we've had wind and rain instead.
Happy new year
@@stephaniehaffertyhomesteading we are close I think. 😊 I'm really hoping we don't have as wet a year. Fingers crossed.
@@GardenMyselfHappy It can not possibly be as wet as 2024. I do hope not!
My ducks are happy but the cats seem to be blaming me for the weather

Thank you - Happy New Year
Great tour, thanks my Timperley Early is also waking up. Which wood chipper would you recommend? 🙂🪵
I use an electric shredder, it is made by Stihl, because an electric one best suits my needs and also my ears - they are quieter than the petrol ones.
@stephaniehaffertyhomesteading brilliant I like the sound of that. Thanks
