The Mercedes and the Bugatti are the type of thing they should be doing with this. Imagine all the historic racers from more than 100 years of racing history they could do in this level of detail. Like even if they did the Lotus 49 coming out this year in this style but didn't have a driver and instead had the red interior and a detailed engine...
The Bugatti is amazing. That era of racing is way too rarely done in 1/64. I'll be getting a few to customize. And I didn't know the Aventador window came off either!! I won't be getting all the Elite64 releases, especially at those Mattel prices, but some are truly gems in the 1/64 world.
Great review John 👍👍👏👏👏 If these elite 64 cars are going for more detail they dont compare to the old black box cars. Personally I like the old 100% black box cars, much more detail and a lot less expense.
The issue with the Audi was the lack of detail. They could have given it a beutiful interior or something to make it fit in with the other highly detailed line. Now I don’t hate the car as I definitely like Audis and have 2 of these I’m just disappointed they dropped the ball imo
A set of very exquisite Hot Wheels castings filled with brilliant details on every model you've shown. My own personal favourite is the Mercedes-Benz 300 SL. Their all very "ELITE" models indeed!!!!
I think some diecast brands should make some more vintage race cars like the Alfa Romeo 8C 2300, Bentley 3 Litre, Auto Union Type C(which was an Audi), Mercedes-Benz W128 and W154.
@@HotWheelsMan_Philippines cuz they wont sell as well as skylines, silvias, NSXs, RX7s, JDMs, Muscle, super/hyper cars. Vintage racing cars is kind of a niche market.
Very off topic but I hope one day they make a premium line of fantasy castings like the limited grip, super tsunami, 24/Seven etc. The more so realistic fantasy models
The Elite 64 blue Lambo from last year looks very similar to the Mini Gt's castings. I put it next to one of the Mini Gt's Lambo and it looks identical.
Elite64 is hotwheels version of true 1:64 , they don't exaggerate details like they do on every other car so it is a lot like other diecast manufacturers
Hot wheels is like the Apple of 1/64 diecast. Crystal headlights, accurate and better looking wheels, and tampo placement, all of these things that are being labeld as exclusive by hw, when mini gt, tarmac works, and tomica limited vintage have been doing that
The Aventador loses some points because the engine cover/rear windshield doesnt have paint on the outer section of it and that makes the glass look huge. Mustang takes my number 1 spot, but the 280ZX is arriving soon so that could change.
The problem I have with the Audi is the front end is too tall/bulky, makes it look more like an SUV. I wasn't interested in any of these, noooow I might have to get the Porsche.
These look so amazing, quite a level beyond Premium... But they are QUITE pricey, since they aren't avalabile locally. For a price of one of these I could get two Mini GTs and have some cash left over, also 5x faster
I slept on the Mercedes and I regret it… only other Elite 64 I’ve bought was the Land Rover. I might buy the Bugatti, the wheels kind suck. Need an elite 64 VW T2 pickup.
Anyone complaining that $20 is too expensive for that Bugatti cause its small should give a go at designing some stuff and see how it goes, especially when its on that small of a scale.
I would agree if companies like Tarmac Works, MINI GT or similar companies wouldn't be on the market for last few years offering, IMHO, better models for much smaller price. Without having budget of Mattel.
Hate I missed out on the 300SL, and I won't pay scalper prices. I started with the Defender 90, which is a bit of a disappointment vs some of HW's competitors. Next was the 928 Safari, which is a work of art, imo.
If you hate scalper prices, then you're in luck cuz there are multiple Buy It Now listings on eBay right now for only $20 which is the same price as it was retail.
@@SeanThomasCSS Thanks. But, I just looked and couldn't find a single one at $20 with, or without shipping. Best I could find was $25 and $5 more to ship. But, that is within $0.57 of what it would have cost as a single purchase from RLC if their $6.95 flat rate shipping and tax is considered. Tempting.
oh come on hot wheels you have a bigger team, materials, designers etc. You can do a better job, even surpass Mini GT, Tarmac and other brands if you put your mind to it, but you are still determined to stay in your comfort zone and give us the same thing every time.
13:30 this Audi is the one where I'll agree with folks that collect MiniGT and such, that this was more of a "what's the point?" release. The Mustang, Land Rover and Porsche are awesome, IMO. They have that HW style to them while being quite nice as sort of replicas. The Gullwing is awesome other than some of the paint details being meh. The Lambo is nice just not for me.
I like the Audi, but when you think Hot Wheels, do you think GRAY SEDAN? I think that's what people didn't like about it, plus no opening parts or anything else interesting about it.
They should do some trucks like the obs ford f150 lightning or like a dodge ram srt10 or maybe even something more newer like a f250 or a Chevy 2500 bison
Indeed the overall shape and portion is abit weird on the RS7, especially the front lights where the real car should have a sleek, and flatter shape. Also the wheels are not, at least looks sporty as the real car, probably because the the tyres a bit too thick. To be honest, the real car doesn't have such an obvious wide body portion as the elite 64 one, rather, it's the car itself is wide.
I am HUGE Audi fan and did not get the RS5. Something about it just isn't right. To add to it, I know Nardo Grey is a popular color but I don't like it. Not a fan... sooo. I wish I liked it but I don't. Hope to see more Audi, more well-made.
design parameters, minimal and delicate details. But they insist on reusing molds and continuing in their same comfort zone and we all know that Mini GT, Tarmac and other more expensive brands are gaining more ground.@@truenoae8689
@@truenoae8689modern HW are out of scale, their design is always a toy like, they leave essential details such as mirrors, their tyres are way too thick and even premiums still have this tradition when one set of them are bigger than the other, their wheels are never accurate and etc. Basically all of that are specific choices by Mattel that makes HW stand out, but also cant compete with the new wave of Brands like MiniGT, Tarmac, Pop Race, CM Model and many other

The Porsche is number 7 and the Datsun is number 9. What is going to be number 8? Any sneaks?
The RS7 kinda sorta looks like an R8 from the front
Why do they skip a number or two then work backwards?? Would be nice if they had packaging that you can open without destroying the card!
Weight of a paper clip made me lol
Matchbox does a better job at doing the Audis especially the R8 in the five packs they have😊
