For 10 years now, I've been periodically returning to this channel, hoping against hope there would be another aether music upload. I loved the aether music. It touched a part of me I didn't know existed, and still to this day hasn't been touched by any other artist. I stopped caring about the aether mod long ago, but the music is still in my heart.
Of course, Emile won't ever make any more music. He's moved on now. He's gone and made a PHD of Neurosymbolic learning out of himself. He's in the high society now. He has no time for music anymore.
I suppose that's why this song sounds so sad to me. It sounds like a heartfelt farewell, although probably no one realized it at the time. It's a farewell to Emile, as well as a farewell to the kid I was in 2013. Farewell to all the hopes and dreams I held on to back then. Like Emile, I have an entirely new set of hopes and dreams now, but a part of me will always stubbornly hope for the fulfillment of my childhood fantasies, just as I continue to hope for more Aether music.

@@EmilevanKrieken You have no idea. Think of your childhood passion. Now think about what you heard, saw, and smelled at the time. Think of the pure sorrow and joy at the same time that you experience when you think of those things. Think of the most nostalgic part of your childhood. Your music had that effect on thousands of children, including me. I feel a sense of longing for a place that doesn't exist. It's all because of you. You have touched the lives of me and others for real. I think you should be proud of that.

this music is literally opposite to dead voxel. if listen carefully, sounds just more peacefully and friendly. like it!
Ok, I know this video is old... but this may be one of my favorite ambient songs ever, especially in the second half. In the first half it sets a mood, a simple chord progression is repeated yet despite that is is incredibly relaxing. The second half introduces the melody, which is just quite beutiful. Very flowing and natural. The heartbeat comes in and puts a beat to that melody, eventually leading to the drums. All this builds to a perfect conclusion, and doesnt leave you wanting more of the song, just of everything else. Its kind of hard to explain what I mean by this, so I wont try. Anyway, thank you for this, its astonishingly beutiful.

I hope I'm not the only one who still returns to listen to the ambient tracks from the OST. I imagine these songs speak to me as much as to other people on a very personal level, probably reserved for special occasions as much as the tracks from Half-Life composed by Kelly Bailey are utilised to augment the atmosphere of certain special moments, and blend in seamlessly with the environment to where you may not always remember the tune of the track, but you will always remember the moment and place where it's played. That's the same magic shared by great ambient tracks such as these. You have our eternal thanks for creating this score.

This song is just great... it makes dream of such a better world.. A paradise where everyone have a place in this world, a world of peace, friendship and love, a world as John Lennon had imagined....this music is just so beautiful it gets truly on my heart..
I played Aether for the first time about a year ago after wanting to play it for almost 8 years. The sheer, absolute feeling of joy I felt as I finally reached a childhood dream while hearing this music playing; it was an amazing feeling. Thank you, I don't think I'll ever forget about the Aether or your brilliant music.
I had the same experience of not being able to play the mod for years, but when I finally got to, I had so much fun.
