- Mariia Mangupli, a Krymchak Jew who was born in Kerch in 1912 and was living there during the war years, recounts the fate of a Jewish boy and a woman with her three children before and during the mass shooting at the Bagerovo anti-tank trench on December 29, 1941 of about 600 Ashkenazi Jews who had been found by the Germans in hiding. She notes how both [the woman and the boy] of them survived the shooting and how they were later saved by the Red Army troops.
