  • In this video we are with Toby, one of The Padel School coaches, and we are working on his backhands from the back of the court - particularly his grip.
    Enjoy this 'training lesson' style content? What shots would you like to see us working on?
    Despite being one of the first techniques you learn in padel, it is also one of the more difficult to get right.
    If you are coming from a tennis background and are trying to get this shot right, it will be worth watching to One to One Course, where we work with a student (ex tennis player) to perfect this shot: thepadelschool.thrivecart.com...

    Nice, Sandy! Always fun to see how such a small adjustment makes a big difference. 👍 Think maybe you forgot to put the links to the other videos in at the end, or my phone’s playing tricks on me.

    At 2:47, do you “open the racket face” while in standard continental grip, just by using your wrist, or do you also turn the racket handle slightly to make it more open?

    From tennis background with double hand continental grip I really struggled with padel flat onehand backhand ground stroke. No control. What really started the feeling to have control was thinking to have a open racket (Starting even in the backswing) before I hit the ball. Wished I got that advice earlier.

      Glad the advice helped you Victor, keep it up!

      What do you mean with open racket?

    • @victorosborn3348
      @victorosborn3348 Рік тому +2

      @@guillaumecannie264 the face of the racket is upwards showing the surface. It starts open in the backswing. Its also hiding the lob, short swing or flat swing more. Tennis double hand is closed.

    For right handed people:
    When I’m hitting a backhand,
    is it always a must to hold the throat of the racket (with the left hand) WHILE preparing
    for the backhand?

    Should I always hold the racket with my left hand (while hitting with the right), or there are cases to do and not do that?

    • @ThePadelSchool
      @ThePadelSchool  2 роки тому +1

      Use your left hand in ready position holding throat of the racket (for all shots) in ready position
