  • We at Südzucker Sugar Division Foster Biodiversity
Rooted in agriculture, we are closely connected to farmers and the origin of its beets. The Südzucker Sugar Division focuses on four sustainability impact areas: Sustainable Farming, Foster Biodiversity, Emission Reduction, and Conscious Consumption.
To enhance biodiversity, Südzucker aims to increase the number and area of flower strips in all its growing countries. At their experimental farm in Kirschgartshausen near Mannheim, Germany, Südzucker collaborates with the Institute for Agroecology and Biodiversity to monitor the effects of flower strips on pollinators, beneficial insects, and pests. Geert Van Aelst, Head of Sustainability, emphasizes research and innovation, exploring seed mix variations and maintenance strategies to drive biodiversity.
