Hi, I fractured both of my ankles and have not been able to tumble for about 5 months now, I got injured on the constant pounding of my feet when I tumble on grass, and I lost a lot of flexibility and leg muscle, do you have any tips to help me get my power tumbling and stunts back and how to prevent further injury when I grass tumble?
Do you have anything to help with starting tumbling after injuring your wrist? I lost all my tumbling when I tore tissue in it and I would like to get it back. I can't even hold a handstand on two hands anymore /:

Hi Erica, so this is my first season as a cheerleader and at tryouts I was doing really good flying. I got some practice and the basics and all that, but I don't get any practice at practice because we're working with a competition each week and don't really have time to try new things. I've been doing these for a week now each day for maybe an hour (although a little simpler, libs and arabesques) and today we tried out doing two man stunts, and I was so excited and I thought I was so ready but I couldn't get my butt up the first time :( naturally she put one of the better girls up and she didnt get up for 3 tries and I was sad because I bet I could have done it with more than one chance. It's mostly the fact that while I'm straightening my leg and tightening, we are going up. How would you suggest that I help this? I think just straightening my leg faster would help lol. this is a problem I can find my own solution to, but idk man. this was kind of more of a rant than a question sorry lol. I just really don't want to be spotting for the whole season ya feel

get a new couch is my advice to you haha one tip is that never bend your knees. If you feel one side higher than the other either tap your leg to tell them to lower it or lean. If you bend your knees they will not be locked and you will fall.

Can you do a straight ride without caving? That’s important to master that first before trying the full down. Don’t worry about bending for your bases to catch you, that’ll naturally happen
Erica Lin it’s weird actually, because last season was my first cheer season and I was able to get a full down and my cradle very nicely but for some reason I’ve just seemed to lose it. I don’t know if it’s because I’m not used to my new bases or my muscle memory doesn’t work.

+Emily_Nicole I got the same problem. what I did was try to push my ankles the opposite way if they start to roll out. Make sure your feet are straight when you put them in your bases' hands. If it still won't work,your shoes might be the problem.
My coach said since I'm a good flyer I'd be able to do allstar even though I don't have a backhandspring. That's good but I really want to get a backhandspring quickly I have my walkovers and all I just can't get it
+Erica Lin Yay! Because I thought that I would have to be using my right leg more then my left leg and I'm so glad because my right leg isn't very good, but my left leg is phenomenal so that's great!
So all I need is more skills (to be on a higher level so they can pick me up) to lose weight and become flexible in like 2 months nothing big we can do this
+Chantal Walters don't listen to chloe pang. You're not "too" skinny.. lol. You're not too big either. You dont need to be a certain weight or height to be a flyer. im 5'5, and 95 lbs and i fly so..

My middle school cheer season is starting back up and I am in 8th grade. I've made the team every year since 6th grade and I've always been a flyer until 7th grade... the small six graders tried out and since our coach isn't really that much of a cheer coach (she doesn't know much about he importance of holding your weight and etc.) so she put the smallest girl up because of the fetus flyer trend 🙄 I've gotten to fly one or twice but i wasn't a for sure flyer 😭 hopefully this helps me 😀

It’s totally OK, I didn’t do gymnastics before starting cheer either! You’ll learn a lot of tumbling through cheer.
