I don't know where the original song is from but it's called Ochame Kinou and this version is by Teto, although Lon did have a version, which this is credited as incorrectly I think, but I don't know which came first.

It is currently 2:35 in the AM. I remember hearing this song blasting from the computer lab back in high school but never looked further into it. Now that I have, it feels like I found something I dropped a ways back.
Whenever I listen to this or a older version of it I get a strange mix of sadness, nostalgia, and anemoia nostalgia. I was 9 when this video would have been uploaded so I wasn't young enough to not remember stuff but wasn't old enough to fully interact with the internet in a meaningful way as I tended to very closely stick to stuff I knew (Godzilla/kaiju, minecraft, dinosaurs, and stuff I can't remember but 9 year old me would) and even then I was just a passive observer. I know there was still bad stuff about the internet back then but it didn't seem as prominent and massive as it is now. I miss the style of that era and how it was just people and thier genuine interests. No culture war bs, or atlest not as prominent, no AI and silicon valley bullshit, no over abundance of corporation influence, and no mainstream assholes being dicks. Just people doing thier own thing. I'm most likely seeing things through rose tinted glasses and not having the full picture but I just miss that time period and slightly envy those who were old enough and/or less timid to interact in a meaningful way.
