The only real difference between them, other than who's superior in what area, is that the Joker's a coward in open combat and standoffs, while Batman couldn't give less of a fuck if he sold everyone else's before showing up, just to make sure there were none in the room.
This series has been so surprisingly cathartic for my PTSD (diagnosed by a qualified psychiatrist) and Narcissistic Abuse Recovery. I can watch my anger issues portrayed by Harley and feel heard without feeling ridiculed and I can dissolve my anger issues by laughing at them.

But it's incredibly inaccurate when dealing with the character of Joker. He doesn't have any feelings for Harley whatsoever, he's a psychopath, he wouldn't care about her leaving at all. I don't mind when the writers try to make Harley seem cool, but you don't have to make the Joker act so unbelievably out of character to do that.
Joker cares for her leaving because it makes him look weak. He doesn't give a damn about Harley otherwise. He did this in the animated series, too, anytime she tried to do something that embarrassed him. He'd usually try to kill her or charm her so he'd look strong.

It’s like in one of the X-Men comics when some guy’s father died but he wasn’t sad or anything because he knew his dad was an X-Men so he figured he’d come back in a month.
