Actually it just needs some simple thinking. It's not that complicated. They just didn't see it. If I wanted them to realise it, I would make them react to the second pictures of everyone. Because everyone's second pictures from that edit looks stranger than their usual selves. And even if I didn't do that just look at Nagito's reaction: He closes his after a certain amount of time and his eyes were still closed when he was saying that they looked hopeful. And he already had his eyes closed when Fuyuhiko came on to screen.
