Thanks for this tutorial I have been looking for what to sew for my birthday and I saw this. If you want the rushed your full length please what measurements will you take for the down part?
That means if my skirt length is 42 I should make it 48? Or since my full length is 59 I should just double it to be 118? Please I'm confused I just want to know for full length how many inches to take Please don't be upset I want to sew it today
Thanks alot for this tutorial..... I'm a bit confused about the channel u created for the elastic, please the channel u created for the elastic, did u do it only on the front side or both the front and back ..
I really appreciate you for your top notch tutorials, I don't regret subscribing to your channel. Pardon me please, i still want to get it right. Im i suppose to add some extra inches when taking the body circumference to give kind of ease, or use my accurate measurements? Also, assuming my length is 50 how many extra inches should i add for the ruch? Thank you
The final length of my skirt was 43” because I used a 27” long elastic. For a knee length dress, cut the gown length to be full length (e.g. 60”) and then use 25” elastic. So to reduce the length of the gown, just reduce the length of the elastic.
Thanks for the detailed tutorial.. Please when you say length of 60 does it me that the waist from one inch to 60 inch or the 60 inch length is minus the half length of the dress for example 60 minus half length of 16 inch making the skirt part 44 then I will use 25 inch elastic?
Thanks ma I really like your tutorial, please ma you made use of your 1and half side allowance and in half inche to insert your elastic casing right?you didn't sew it on the body of the dress right that's were am Abit confused, thanks
Nice dress and thank you Silem for this class. Please did you sew down the allowance for rushing on both sides of the allowance or you moved all to one side and sewed? Secondly, can i use a strechy fabic for this style? Thanks and GOD bless you for a swift response.
Thanks for sharing dear, please that tiny hold, did you put it on the allowance or on the 1/2 you sew. Secondly, you said the down part should not be like a pencil skirt, how many inches should the down part be. Thanks

You’re welcome! Yes, reduce the length of your elastic bit by bit until you get the desired ruching and length. You should hem your dress before inserting the elastic. It’s easier that way
Thank you very much ma, please just one more question pls🙏do I need to increase my gown length because of the runch? How many inches should I add to the Normal length.

The dress cannot be penciled and ruched at the same time. Divide your desired skirt length by 2 and use that length for your elastic. But make sure your skirt is double your desired size before inserting the elastic

Thanks alot for this tutorial..... I'm a bit confused about the channel u created for the elastic, please the channel u created for the elastic, did u do it only on the front side or both the front and back ..

Thank you! Use your accurate body measurements and add allowance like I did in the video. Add at least 20” to your length to create the ruched effect
Great tutorial. Please can you explain the mathematics I did not get it. What's the final length for yours thanks
The final length of my skirt was 43” because I used a 27” long elastic.

You’re welcome! The full dress length was 61” before ruching.
Very nice... Pls wot material did you use?
Thank you. I used duchess satin
Beautiful ❤ please if i make the gown longer than your own is possible to open slit at the down part of the skirt?
What I mean my client need the back down of the gown opening is it possible to slik back after ruching
You can put a slit at the back, but you have to gather and sew the ruching down on both sides of the slit.
@@TheSILEM thank you ma'am that means I will only gather the both hips side I will not gather the zip side?
@etiemanaakra5080 the hips are already gathered because of the elastic and ruching. It’s the zip side you have to gather.
@@TheSILEM God bless you
Thank you ma for this toturial ma.
Please which side of the dress did you place your label.

Does it have slit
It doesn’t

Hi,first to comment, hi the silem❤
Hi Carine 🥰
Nice dress and thank you Silem for this class. Please did you sew down the allowance for rushing on both sides of the allowance or you moved all to one side and sewed? Secondly, can i use a strechy fabic for this style? Thanks and GOD bless you for a swift response.
You’re welcome! I sewed the allowance to one side. Yes, you can use a stretchy fabric
I'm very grateful and impressed for the swift response. Blessings!
Very interesting video please what if I want the gown to be a full gown down to my ankle how do I go with the measurements n elastic
If you want the dress to be 60” long, measure your fabric to be double that length and insert an elastic that is 35” long
Thanks so much our star 🥰
Thanks for sharing dear, please that tiny hold, did you put it on the allowance or on the 1/2 you sew.
Secondly, you said the down part should not be like a pencil skirt, how many inches should the down part be. Thanks
You’re welcome! I don’t understand the first question you asked. For the down part of the dress, it’s the same circumference with the hip
Please can I use paradise silk fabric for this?
Also can 3 yard be okay to make this?
I don’t know what fabric that is. Yes, 3 yards would be fine.
