A mornings solo wanderings around one of the markets in Basra (2 actually)
i had time to kill in the morning before meeting my local friends, so i decided to go check out the markets alone, as are most of the Markets ive been to in Iraq , this one was huge and never ending and sold everything! the hotel guy had said it had old things but i think there was miscommunication hahha!
The policeman was funny! "very very good"!! lol ...super nice guy! everyone was very nice and always so friendly , i know not many speak english but thats ok...we can still communicate...the little girl that came up to me was a little gem ! i took the train to Baghdad that night... i have lots more videos to post and have found someone that will do the arabic subtitles for me! so they will be coming soon!

I don't think in these open places you will feel any unsafe, but the issue is with lack of "English" skills for the majority of people in these places, if you had a guide with you, i guess it could even better, so sweet to see this little kid speaks best English of all hahaha!!! Also i could see that many of the people are surprised to see a foreigner alone with no translator or guide goes around in the markets.
I suggest all the new visitors to Iraq to has an Iraqi guide 1. translation.
2. A guidance to the important places and malls and shopping places.

A lot of Iraqi people can't speek English because of the English language in Iraq was in the last 20 years is not a important and official lesson in the Iraqi schools.
But I confirm that the next 10 years will be different.

Basra is the most welcoming city in Iraq haha they even treat people from Baghdad like they're guests. The most hospitable people in Iraq.
