I need to know when i checked by etabs for soft story it showed me that the percentage is ok ( i.e >70) does that mean that the situation is ok when there is no walls or such stiffiness matreials around the basement floor ( parking lot) as what i did in the model and made the check for that story ( the basement)
It is not based on %. Upper level should not be stiffer than lower floors. As per 1893, contribution of walls needs to be accounted as well by modelling as diagonal equivalent struts. If you are ignoring it and if you have modelled accurately and interpreted results correctly, you can follow ETABS
