Tak for videoen. :) The adaptability of the stock, and quick to use scope mounts are indeed clever progress to classic gun design. As for improved accuracy, new anti rust metal coatings etc, well there perhaps the real progress and need for that progress vs the price paid can be more debated. Anyways, interesting rifle and thank you for showing it. :) Skitt Jakt også til dig! PS. for calibers to add, a good misized 6.5 and 7mm cartridge might be good additions, say one of 6.5 Creedmore/6.5x55 /260 rem and 7mm08//7x57. That or something in the heavy end, so it can become a safari rifle. Something from 375 and up.
Ullberg Just plain hunting videos. Or more gear videos. Maybe some stalking tips. Or a video about a hunt and then how you process and cook the animal. ;)
I saw this rifle and loved it on the spot. However als a new and thus beginning hunter it's probably better to begin with something else. What rifle(s) and caliber(s) would you advise to start out with in Scandinavia?
Great rifle guys,Would be good to see it in 25.06 or 22.250. I own a .223 in all stainless Pro Varmint and Absolutely Love it,with Sako ammo it shoot under 6mm groups at 100mts.Could not be happier,Unless I get myself a monobloc 25.06 for Christmas. Cheers to all at Steyr and have a Happy Christmas.
@@ullberg1610 I have an amazing pro Varmint Stainless Fluted so I think I would like the versatile 25.06 for it great knock down power and high accuracy. Cheer to all at Steyr. Regards Rod.
If I had the $$$ to buy one of these I wish they would like to get one in the 376 Steyr.. i am falling in love with that caliber from a Handloaders side of things
The trend in Europe is towards shorter barrels. The new Norma Silencer ammo is perfect since you can achieve high speeds without unnecessarily high pressures. Check it out!

I'm UK-based. The Swede is perfect for Europe (up to but not including Boar) and Africa (up to but not including Eland, Zebra, Buffalo). Monobloc accuracy in a 6.5x55 SE would be fantastic, alongside 2020-planned Monobloc in 7x64 (the Boar minimum, and for Gemsbok at distance). No need at all for 30-06, it's too much gun for most and then not enough for the rest...I doubt 9.3x62 or 404 Jefferey would benefit at all from being Monobloc.
@@therobinroos I'm with ya. I have used the .30-06 my entire life and it is more than gun enough, like you say, for what I hunt. Generally boar tend to stop and I get an exit wound on roe deer - exactly what I want! Gonna be interesting to see what happens next for the Monoblox though.
This no rifle you lie around on the range plinking. Ammo prices in sweden makes it a bit of a bad idea anyhow. But modern rifles have 8000+ rounds with hunting accuracy. Its no bench rest rifle, so demands on precision is not the same. But yeah its expensive, but barrel replacement on even a rem 700 in sweden costs probably closer to $2000, considering barrel material and work for a smith. So suddenly a drop in barrel is no bad deal, considering this wont need to be headspaced.
sumaker 211 absolutely! That’s on the cards - I wanted to start off with a video on some of the specs of the rifle to then move in to a range review when I have time. Thanks for commenting!
@@daleandersen9579 Noo not even close, but it just gives you that little extra. There are more boar shot than moose since 2017 though, which might explain the popularity.

Underrated Chanel you have.
Thanks a lot man - really appreciate it!
280 Ackley Improved and/or 7mm WSM. The 280AI is a remarkable cartridge, very easy shooting and mild recoil.
28 Nosler would be a great addition to complement this rifle for long range shooting
Oh yeah thats a great round. Do you use 28 Nosler yourself?
Tak for videoen. :)

Awesome, keep the videos coming!
Kaiser Karl Heinrich III thanks a lot buddy! Do you have any suggestions for topics?

Cost of rifle?
Nice rig. Sweet scope too.
I love this gun... 2 problems ...... 1) why are the barrel lengths so short ??? 2) No 6.5 ?

300 wm, 338 lapua magnum, 7mm rem magnum, 300 rum, 7mm rum, all with 26" fluted barrel

Rod Pollard the initial release is obviously for larger calibers. If there was one varmint caliber released which one would you want? .223?

Awesome, technology speaks for itself ☝🏼 would be cool if they would have a HP(high power cart) 22. variant 🤗
Yes it does. It really is a nice rifle. Looking forward to the evolution of this system
Great review and clip! Just one area of improvement would be a better microphone for recording your videos.
Would like to see 25-06
I'm still waiting for Steyr to do a traditional hunting stock in either wood... in a varmint caliber with a heavy barrel!!
Have you seen the wooden stock they just released? Looks slick!
fantastic video thank you
Thank you! Appreciate that

Kostar bara 52.000 haha.
338 lapua or winchester would be kinda cool
They have just released .300 WM - I know its not a 338 but something at least!
Why is the barrel so short?

6.5x55 SE
Robin Roos needed for the Scandinavian market I think!

.300 win mag. And i’d buy one tomorrow
Maybe (hopefully!) one day!
So when the barrel is worn out you'll be buying a whole new rifle?
The receiver is just milled to the barrel, so you replace both. Similarly you can have the same rifle but change calibers as you please

Like ur video but would probably be more helpful to show results of its accuracy . Thanks.

Hi Ullberg, still no video for the accuracy of the monoblock and is it worthy please ? Regards.
6.5 PRc! Not sure why there isn't anything smaller then 270 Win! European rifle with mostly American antique calibers!!
Dayne Anderson good question! I guess Europeans are shifting towards larger calibers in part due to wild boar..? I’ll check out the 6.5 PRc
@@ullberg1610 That's funny! Europe has been using 6.5 on moose for years, are the pigs bigger than moose?

How much ?
I think it retails between 4-5000 euros depending on where you are. Check out your local retailer!
I think it is bad cheek weld situation
