I'm a party artist and my other mates have always been comprised of at least one other artist. I don't get asked to draw much cause our characters are so personal. That said, the fiance is DM and he wants me to draw all hit NPCs lol. I've promised him this one elf for years now. I'm not especially reliable though so that's probably why I don't get asked to do their art :/ but the other artists in the group have always been better than I. That said, I have improved like crazy this past year and a half.

Rob put his character sheet on screen and all I could see was his +2 in intelligence, +3 in persuasion and +4 in deception. Absolutely monstrous. I'm hoping we'll get to see the non-directly violent 2ee in this one-shot.
It was a gamble that I didn't need to use combat at all as I had 0 combat proficiencies and a -1 in str. The thought process is that Carpathian spent his life debating theology and convincing others to follow the one true God Asalla.
I put this on the announcement video that is now private/deleted, but I'll also leave it here; It'd be really strongly appreciated if you multi-streamed to both UA-cam and Twitch, as some of us have issues (ranging from minor complaints to it literally not working) with Twitch. I personally won't be keeping track of Twitch at all, but I'd be thrilled to join the streams from UA-cam!

So from a legal standpoint, as a Twitch partner, he cannot multistream even if he wanted to. Personally, I don’t think it’s possessive to ask for exclusivity before signing a contract with someone. That person is essentially going to be a face of your brand, and is going to be one of the faces your advertisers look at when deciding if your website is suitable to buy ads on, it’s fair to think that they wouldn’t want that person to go off and stream on every platform they can because then if the advertiser likes that streamer but not the platform they’re on they’ll just go to one of the other websites they stream on.
Around 2 and a half years ago after a fairly traumatic series of events, I quit playing d&d. I had been playing twice a week at that point and it left a void in my heart and mind. This video, listening to the story and how the people interacted helped heal that part of me. So thank you so much for making these videos and bringing back this channel.
I love Dave immediately jumping into the jealous guy role the second Jazza mentioned Art and Orion were close. The reaction to Orion’s form and the overprotectiveness is just adorable.

My thoughts during this video went like this: Sees 2 hour time and gets put off. Thinks il give it half an hour and see what it's all about. Gets sucked into jazzas world building. Hears robs creepy carpathian voice and thinks that's brill. Gets super confused by the dice meanings and thinks maybe I should of watched the cogent explanation before this one. Continues to get drawn in by the story development. Gets all invested and emotionally attached to the characters. Realises I've spent over two hours watching something I have no clue about and thoroughly enjoyed every second of it. Craves more. Comments for the algorithm. Subs immediately. 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Well done by all. Checking out Cogent now, after seeing how it worked quite smoothly and quickly for your group. Maybe it’s just how well you ran this scenario (gotta love players willing to let their character die), but I liked the focus on narrative and character roleplay without system complexity getting in the way.
This was SO awesome!! I am so invested in this story! I love all of the characters and the entire backstory you've created, I wish it didn't have to end..! Everyone played so well too! Thank you Jazza, but also Rob, Dave and Jen for making these characters come to life! This is real quality content, and you can tell that a lot of love and heart went into this.
ive never played a table top rpg before but was always interested. last night i spent a good amount of time watching "ogre confident" and "blood brothers". im hooked, and pretty excited for this channel.
I used to play Vampire: The Mascarade, and I miss it a lot. I've been following Jazza's channel for a couple of months and UCD2 got me interested in whatching this video. I thought I would just watch a little bit. I jus noticed I'm 42 minutes in. Good job, Jazza & Co. This is amazing.
Had to watch this in segments in the last weeks because it's so long, but I finally finished it and I was in tears at the end! Which is a big thing, because I love roleplaying (and I'm a LARPer too) but I'm usually one that can't get into the podcasted sessions, I always lose concentration. COGENT probably helps, it's such a smooth way of playing. I loved it and I'm now going to binge all the new videos too. Great content, as usual!

Listening to this and watching the UCD2 motivated me to start working on the world building for own campaign. I had been putting it off, because I've been busy with studying for mid-terms and not wanting to start on my process (which can take a month and a half, if I'm not careful). So, I have my first two NPCs drawn and the story is starting to come together.
You should turn this into a short novel writing the story based on how you played it out during the video. This could also be done as a visual novel as well. And either way this would be such a cool thing to make especially if there is a part two because the story would continue and go on until you feel it’s gotten a satisfying ending. Because to me I love the drawing aspect that inspired this but I love the story that is being born out of it.

I truly enjoyed this. As someone who has played a lot of the table top games out there, I have to say I like the way your system plays. It seems to run very smoothly. And the story telling was top notch!
I don't think we get an actual reason for the Fall, just what Signus thinks caused it. So I made stuff up. Obviously spoilers are involved. #UCD2 Empusa was not darkened when she met Signus. None were, yet. Their union was beautiful, and it brought Asala great joy as Empusa grew great with child. But the pregnancy was taking much strength from Empusa, and soon she became so ill she was bedridden, barely able to eat. Signus prayed to Asala for his future child and was brought peace, for his child would live. He prayed for his wife, but was only brought emptiness, for Asala did not answer. He knew what that meant. Determined to not lose his love, he commanded the mortals to pray for Empusa. The mortals trusted him, but it was not enough. Her illness became greater, and time was growing short. As the first act of heresy, but done for love, he commanded the mortals to pray _to_ Empusa. She grew stronger, but it was not enough. Signus struggled in desperation to find a way for his love to live, and came to a thought. Strength is in faith, so what is faith? Faith is trust, to give up control to another, to give one's time and mind, sacrificed for a cause. What was the most precious thing one could give, to show the most faith? A life. As the second act of heresy, done in desperation, Signus commanded a sacrifice from the mortals. This brought strength to Empusa, but it also changed her, darkened her. She, and others who followed her path, began to demand more sacrifices, of children and blood, for the power it brought was intoxicating strong. And then the child was born, and Signus realized his treachery. The child had been twisted by his mothers dark faith, an affront to Asala. He knew what had to be done. To atone for his sins, and to rid the world of what he created, he approached the edge of Immortas. As the third and final act of heresy, done in fear and desperation, he would kill the abomination he had unknowingly created. But before he could loose his hand over the edge, he felt great fear and anger from Asala, and then his glory fell as she fled. She had been growing weaker recently, as more and more seraphim claimed her faith for themselves. Soon she would be overthrown. Signus's sacrifice would bring her great power, she reasoned, but realized what would happen. She knew now that she was destined to fall for the temptation of that dark power, for she could not resist it forever. She saw balance in the boy, and so she took the power from all but him, and waited. When the time came, as the boy faced off against his mother, she gave him her faith. He would know balance, and could resist what she could not. She gave him her knowledge and power, and she became no more.
I feel like jazza had it in for gabe there near the end. I very much want a part 2 but not without (even a badly injured ) gabe he was like the best character
it's my first time listening to that kind of content and it is fucking amazing ahah damn I can't wait for the next one it's like reading a book that takes life by it's self with the amalgam of the characters who are discovering it with us. and the core of the story is so well done it's beautiful thanks guys! :)
I remember jazzas video making the character Orion a while ago and I'm just found this video. This was so wonderful and I loved it. Thank you all so much.
Man, I love Jazza as a narrator. Brilliantly effective use of destiny rolls, and those rolls seemed to help or harm the PCs proportionally to the result of the roll. Amazing play by Rob, Dave, and Jen as well. I hope this gets explored more in another one-shot someday.
That was a fun listen I turned it on because I thought it would be good background noise while I was completing a task then I was going to finish my audio book. And I got hooked on this had to finish it. I'd like a part 2
Just wrapped up a masters of fine art, watched your art content for years.. I'm not a table top guy but damn this video was one of my favorite things you've ever made.. That or the wendigo character, badass. Awesome stuff can't wait for the next campaign. P. S. Best voice acting away goes to Rob.
While watching, my wife was listening. I explained Cogent concept. She thought we should play a marvel universe with the kids. Now we are engaged in acts of heroism against child abuse and corruption. I thank Shadversity and Jazza for making something I can get even my 5 year old involved in. From alpha till the end my family are grateful.
I don't know about anyone else but I thought "the Fall" would've happened hundreds of years prior, before Jazza said that it was only 20 years prior, it sounded like it would've been 100s of years prior based on the way he described it. Just my opinion
I really enjoyed this. What I like most about dnd like campaigns is the story and the character building not so much the fighting and this being all story is pretty amazing ot feels like there reading a script to a movie. More story based campaigns its amazing and gives me the writing vibes

This game was so epic! It felt like I was watching a movie. (Spoilers) I loved it so much when Gabe shouted "THE SERAPHIM HAVE RETURNED!" And I was so sad when Orion was holding Gabe in his arms as he was dying. And then Ampusa said "GIVE ME YOUR WIIIINGS!" Man, this channel is awesome! Keep it up!
Oh wow, this is so much fun to watch/ listen to. You guys are awesome. You could sell audio of this as an audio drama. It kinda pushed me to practice more gesture and figure drawing because i couldnt help but think that this would make a really cool graphic novel.

I don't think that'd work. I'm not a streamer, but from what I hear, Twitch is a bit... possessive, for lack of a better term, of their partners.

Listening to this and watching the UCD2 motivated me to start working on the world building for own campaign. I had been putting it off, because I've been busy with studying for mid-terms and not wanting to start on my process (which can take a month and a half, if I'm not careful). So, I have my first two NPCs drawn and the story is starting to come together.
The amount of story ideas that entered my brain was unreal. Thank you and would love to see more content like this!
You should turn this into a short novel writing the story based on how you played it out during the video. This could also be done as a visual novel as well. And either way this would be such a cool thing to make especially if there is a part two because the story would continue and go on until you feel it’s gotten a satisfying ending. Because to me I love the drawing aspect that inspired this but I love the story that is being born out of it.

I truly enjoyed this. As someone who has played a lot of the table top games out there, I have to say I like the way your system plays. It seems to run very smoothly. And the story telling was top notch!
"Carpathian" - Oh, I live at foothills of Carpathian mountains.
I don't think we get an actual reason for the Fall, just what Signus thinks caused it. So I made stuff up. Obviously spoilers are involved. #UCD2
Empusa was not darkened when she met Signus. None were, yet. Their union was beautiful, and it brought Asala great joy as Empusa grew great with child. But the pregnancy was taking much strength from Empusa, and soon she became so ill she was bedridden, barely able to eat. Signus prayed to Asala for his future child and was brought peace, for his child would live. He prayed for his wife, but was only brought emptiness, for Asala did not answer. He knew what that meant.
Determined to not lose his love, he commanded the mortals to pray for Empusa. The mortals trusted him, but it was not enough. Her illness became greater, and time was growing short. As the first act of heresy, but done for love, he commanded the mortals to pray _to_ Empusa. She grew stronger, but it was not enough.
Signus struggled in desperation to find a way for his love to live, and came to a thought. Strength is in faith, so what is faith? Faith is trust, to give up control to another, to give one's time and mind, sacrificed for a cause. What was the most precious thing one could give, to show the most faith? A life.
As the second act of heresy, done in desperation, Signus commanded a sacrifice from the mortals. This brought strength to Empusa, but it also changed her, darkened her. She, and others who followed her path, began to demand more sacrifices, of children and blood, for the power it brought was intoxicating strong.
And then the child was born, and Signus realized his treachery. The child had been twisted by his mothers dark faith, an affront to Asala. He knew what had to be done.
To atone for his sins, and to rid the world of what he created, he approached the edge of Immortas. As the third and final act of heresy, done in fear and desperation, he would kill the abomination he had unknowingly created. But before he could loose his hand over the edge, he felt great fear and anger from Asala, and then his glory fell as she fled.
She had been growing weaker recently, as more and more seraphim claimed her faith for themselves. Soon she would be overthrown. Signus's sacrifice would bring her great power, she reasoned, but realized what would happen. She knew now that she was destined to fall for the temptation of that dark power, for she could not resist it forever. She saw balance in the boy, and so she took the power from all but him, and waited.
When the time came, as the boy faced off against his mother, she gave him her faith. He would know balance, and could resist what she could not. She gave him her knowledge and power, and she became no more.

I feel like jazza had it in for gabe there near the end. I very much want a part 2 but not without (even a badly injured ) gabe he was like the best character
it's my first time listening to that kind of content and it is fucking amazing ahah damn I can't wait for the next one it's like reading a book that takes life by it's self with the amalgam of the characters who are discovering it with us. and the core of the story is so well done it's beautiful thanks guys! :)

I remember jazzas video making the character Orion a while ago and I'm just found this video. This was so wonderful and I loved it. Thank you all so much.
Man, I love Jazza as a narrator. Brilliantly effective use of destiny rolls, and those rolls seemed to help or harm the PCs proportionally to the result of the roll. Amazing play by Rob, Dave, and Jen as well. I hope this gets explored more in another one-shot someday.

That was a fun listen I turned it on because I thought it would be good background noise while I was completing a task then I was going to finish my audio book. And I got hooked on this had to finish it. I'd like a part 2

While watching, my wife was listening. I explained Cogent concept. She thought we should play a marvel universe with the kids. Now we are engaged in acts of heroism against child abuse and corruption. I thank Shadversity and Jazza for making something I can get even my 5 year old involved in. From alpha till the end my family are grateful.

I don't know about anyone else but I thought "the Fall" would've happened hundreds of years prior, before Jazza said that it was only 20 years prior, it sounded like it would've been 100s of years prior based on the way he described it. Just my opinion

I really enjoyed this. What I like most about dnd like campaigns is the story and the character building not so much the fighting and this being all story is pretty amazing ot feels like there reading a script to a movie. More story based campaigns its amazing and gives me the writing vibes

This game was so epic! It felt like I was watching a movie. (Spoilers) I loved it so much when Gabe shouted "THE SERAPHIM HAVE RETURNED!" And I was so sad when Orion was holding Gabe in his arms as he was dying. And then Ampusa said "GIVE ME YOUR WIIIINGS!" Man, this channel is awesome! Keep it up!
