Congrats!!..harvesting one animal on public land is an accomplishment, but two is even more impressive.. you guys' videos are awesome, "outdoor channel" quality. Good luck to us all for the rest of the season..
Congrats on the harvest, but that shot on the first Bear was just not an ethical one with a bow. I know it easy to play Monday morning QB after the fact, but Bear was never broad side and seemed like it was a long shot with a Bow. Heck, the quartered stance would have been a hard shot with a rifle. Don't get me wrong, I know it can be done, but I personally wouldn't have taken that shot with a bow out of respect for that animal knowing that chances were greater to injure the Bear rather than a humane kill/shot. Congrats once again and all this is just my humble opinion.
You raise some great points! However, the video is somewhat deceiving - the shooter was to the right of the camera and was standing on higher ground, so his view of the bear was much better than the camera angle, and the distance was less than 60 yards. Not completely broadside, but not nearly as quartered away as the camera angle shows.
Love your videos and glad to have found your channel--subscribed. Unethical shot on first bear, unfortunately. Try not to arm the anti-hunting crowd by lobbing arrows, wounding animals, and posting on youtube. It's very unlikely to make a recovery. The more likely outcome is an infected wound and slow death.
@@courtneylang7477 Agree to disagree. The shot was moderately quartering away, less than 60 yards. Most western hunters would take that shot on any big game animal given the opportunity. The caveat is the ever-present possibility of human error, i.e. a shot that doesn’t go where you want it to. Truth is, the margin of error between a clean kill and a clean miss is a few inches, with plenty of room for error in between. We try to show viewers an accurate depiction of hunting, and to err is human. We hate to see it happen and we do our best to prevent it by practicing and being prepared, but it can still happen.
That’s what we hope too. It looks like the arrow deflected and barely penetrated, so we think the bear got along just fine. Fingers crossed 🤞 always a bad feeling as the shooter though
I'm going to be hunting D15 for archery season and last year D15 had a 5.7% success rate. I wish I could hunt other zones but this year I need to stay close to home. gonna be fun -_-
@@CacciaOutdoors D14 had a 14.2% success rate last year, which is pretty shocking tbh lol. I I have AO tags so hopefully I'll have a weekend when I can make a drive and get better chances.
Spero che Kuiu vi stia sponsorizzando ragazzi. Voglio spendere! ottimo lavoro su caccia e video! Fai un grido alla prossima fermata allo Steady Edies. Ci vediamo all'outlet Dixon?
The only way to find that info is to get out there and put boots to the ground. Success rates are low but there is a lot of ground in those 3 zones and the animals are there, you just have to put the time in to find them...😉
Terrible shots on that bear. He even said not sure about the hit... Almost facing straight away from us. Poor judgement. Should be sighted by fish and game
Disagree. Keep in mind, the video perspective is NOT the shooter's perspective, and the shooter had a much better view of vitals, and the bear was not quartering as severely as it appears in the video perspective. Fish and Game doesn't site for missed shots.
Any zone in CA can be good if you put in the time to scout it out and find the good spots. As for shotguns, you'll want to refer to the rules and regulations guidebook for that
So how far was that shot on the bear? I rewatched the video multiple times on my computer and tv just to get a better look that arrow landed short behind the bear then bounced up and hit it. Also the arrow is coming down with the back of the arrow lower than the front also explaining how it bounced off the ground and then hit the bear in the back. this means usually means that who ever set up the bow set up the knocking point too low so id get that checked out. Props to you guys for showing that everybody makes mistakes and stuff happens. Get ur bow checked and I wouldn’t be making long bombs with that bow in particular. Maybe buy less Kuiu and get a better bow lol. Great video guys!

@@CacciaOutdoors I appreciate showing the accurate depiction of what its like where sometimes you wound an animal.
Correct me if I'm wrong but did that first bear look like a cub?
No, just a small bear.
Awesome content as usual. It’s funny I see me deer on/near roads vs when I put miles in
As the saying goes, you find em where they are… could be roads, could be miles from roads
Nice work guys!! Enjoy your videos. Could make the bow season this year but I’m excited for the rifle season opener.
Thanks! Good luck during rifle season
Congrats. You guys put in the work and it pays off.
Thanks! Good luck
So you boys prefer fix blade broad heads over mechanical?
Good Gritty footage and editing of that Bear kill, nice
Thanks!
Nice job. It’s unfortunate that first bear wasn’t found. Hopefully it lost the arrow and made a recovery

Congrats on a good hunt
Thanks!

You got this. Those success rates are pretty common in CA and hunters still get it done every year

We would welcome a Kuiu sponsorship! No sponsors yet, we just like their gear
Awesome guys love it keep it up !
Awesome content! 👌🏼
Thanks!
Congrats guys! About what elevation is this?
Thanks! We were hunting a wide range of elevations, 3000’-8000’
What lb draw do you have on the bow?
Heck yea!! Been enjoying the vids! Keep em coming!!!
Thanks for watching!
going out bow hunting at d-3 to d-5, where do you think good places to look for in those zones? First time hunting there

Is this D3?
This may or may not be D3
Nice job 👏 lots of action.
Thanks! It was a fun hunt
Is d5 good?
Also do you know if I can use a shotgun for bear and deer here in California zone d5

2nd shot wonder
Is this x zone
No
