Beautifully done. Much mahalos, this touched my heart this morning. Reminds me of my gramma, who passed a few months ago. Thank you 🙏 peace and blessings. 🕊💕
Shar - this never fails to bring tears. It is at once so sad, yet so beautiful. The boys sing it so magnificently. Kealo's hula was so lovely. There shoulda been about 50 hana hou's! Me ke aloha, Auntie Wanda
This is indeed the most beautiful, sad, loving, poiignant mele. My three brothers and Kealo gave great honor to the Queen's mele by this performance. It is simply magnificent. Mahalo for making it available for others to shre in the gift. Me ke aloha, Auntie Wanda Cleveland, OH
Yes this is indeed the song that gives us who understand Hawai'ian and the story of King Kala_kaua . It brings tears and Kealo gives such a touching beautiful hula that it brings chicken skin! My hope is to see all our beloved Hawai'ians from the past come back again in the resurrection promised by Jesus in the Bible at John 5:28,29. Kaleolani F.
this is the saddest song--but one of my favorites by the Makaha Sons--it was said that the queen had intended it to be a joyous welcoming song but on seeing the black sails of the ship rounding Diamond Head, changed some of the lyrics so that it is a lament instead

I forgot just how beautiful this song is and how beautifully Kealo expresses it through her hula.
