I actually did (or possibly do) have a labyrinth save where I maxed out the scores for every level. I verified it everything. I can't exactly use it since it's a cloud save that would require a flash enabled browser.
When placing buildings (like whole rows of walls), it's easier to hold down Shift and just keep clicking rather than hitting the wall button repeatedly.
I admire your persistence in doing this, and would like to see more videos as you finish these up. Minor pick - it seemed like the game volume was a bit too high for your speech volume.
My kill gem was a green/yellow/red gem near the orb in traps. I never had a firing gem except for the shadow. Interesting to see the difference. My mana farm gem was the green/yellow/orange you're using at the beginning. Frequently I would have the mana farm actually kill the monsters especially early on. Traps ignore armor so I never had to worry about that. Eventually the kill gem was required to kill them. That red component really does make a huge difference. I also found that once you hit maybe gem grade 30 or so raw monsters die from any gem in a trap. Oh and the game's frame rate is higher with only traps vs a shooting gem.
@@CastleGateGaming I find that it becomes more powerful later on because it's got like 100K kills or so. I never toss my gems like you do. I always upgrade in place. That's just me though. I've never had trouble with my GYR gem in a trap killing everything. In the end I ultimately make my mana farm kill everything. I find it makes no difference what color(s) the gems are at grade 31/32 or so.
Same. It’s not quite as bad now with the optimisation put in this version but before that it was soo laggy with thousands of monsters on the field. Angering waves was terrible!
@@CastleGateGaming yeah at one point I wanted to play it, but I was afraid of the lag. But I said screw it. Then I'm like.......this isn't as bad as I remember. It wasn't until I played frostborn that I found out labyrinth got updated. I wish he would bring them all to steam with more modern controls and whatnot. The first game is virtually unplayable since you can't pause it at all. lol
@@awilliams1701 I wish the dev would do that too. I would pay for another chapter zero and labyrinth on steam if they had all the QoL patches in chasing shadows.
LMAO I've never enraged with a grade over 12 before at least not in labyrinth. I did briefly have a grade 15 enraging gem in I4 on frostborn wrath last night. First time in that save.
Check out my video explaining how to set yourself up for success using the third field in this game. Once you have all skills maxed out after just playing 6 - 7 fields this game becomes very easy. It’s an oversight from the game creator and it’s fun to exploit. After that beating beacons on fields becomes trivial. There is one specific field that has around 8 beacons that you can beat over and over again.
The Pylon fields I just had to make sure my shadow kill gem didn't hit the targets. I relied exclusively on traps. Honestly I don't think it was any more or less laggy than that firing gem you had in the end. It's been a while though. If it was laggier it wasn't that bad. It's been a while since I played this game.
yeah I was looking at some older videos of yours. I was at a point where I'm in the end game, but so early that shrines don't work. I was looking for videos of yours where you were around 200 or so and I'm like OMG I'm SOOOOOOO ahead of you in terms of mana and other things. I was using as much as I could remember.
The best thing you can do to up your strength is to ensure your talisman is humming with + all skills fragments and bonuses that net you lots of mana at the start. From there it’s just a matter of beating endurance at fields with mana shards to further up your starting mana.
@@CastleGateGaming Yeah I've used Z5 a lot. Having that 100k mana pool just laying there really helps even if I'm already starting at 70k or so. It's enough to start the mana pool, but very low level. I need like 3 times the mana, but at the same time I need the skills to gain back mana and kill things. So it's a catch 22 right now. At WL550 I'm STARTING to find that shrines are on the verge of working. So just a little more in bleeding soon should do it.
Played this a long time ago, had the premium edition and at least got all of the most rare and hardest achievements and beat the final level. I might play it again while waiting for the next game, having finished CS and FW. But is there a way to play this without using an online browser?
Yes there is. Go to the game creators website gameinabottle (just google that) and they have a section where older games are bundled together. Use the download link and get a zip file containing a portable version of flash and a copy of every game from labyrinth back to the first game they made. All full versions and all unlocked. There are two versions for labyrinth, I recommend you ignore the one with mochi in the name.

Sadly that feature is not in this version.

Thank you. I did notice that too after recording, volume is now set lower for future videos.

I ignore red because it’s super powerful until 5 mins in, then it takes away from the yellow component because it’s there.

@@awilliams1701 I’ll give those colours a try in the next video and see how they go :)
@@CastleGateGaming Just be glad that angering doesn't increase XP. Then the "max XP" runs would literally have no end. lol
@@awilliams1701 haha yeah same. It’s not like chasing shadows where it’s all about your time, patience, and supergemming ability ;)
Still play this game!
It’s just too good!
oh yeah back in the day where anger was a manual process. GOD THAT WAS HORRIBLE!!!!!! I'm so glad there is an enraging slot now.

how did you get so any beacons destroyed before 400 games won, im still stuck at those 2 annoying amulets
