It's offensive to compare being vegan with being gay
Gourmet Rib Eye Steak
Ingredients (for 2 servings)
1 ribeye steak, preferably USDA Prime, 2-inch (5 cm) thick
salt, to taste
pepper, to taste
3 tablespoons canola oil
3 tablespoons butter
3 cloves garlic, peeled and smashed
2 sprigs fresh rosemary
3 sprigs fresh thyme
Preparation
1. Preheat oven to 200°F (95°C).
2. Generously season all sides of the steak with salt and pepper.
3. Transfer to a wire rack on top of a baking sheet, then bake for about 45 minutes to an hour until the internal temperature reads about 125°F (51° C) for medium-rare. Adjust the bake time based on if you like your steak more rare or more well-done.
4. Heat the canola oil in a pan over high heat until smoking.
5. Sear the steak for 30 seconds on the first side, then flip.
6. Add the butter, garlic, rosemary, and thyme, and swirl around the pan.
7. Transfer the garlic and herbs on top of the steak and baste the steak with the butter using a large spoon.
8. Baste for about 30 seconds, then flip and baste the other side for about 15 seconds.
9. Turn the steak on its side and cook to render off any excess fat.
10. Rest the steak on a cutting board or wire rack for about 10 minutes. Slicing the steak before the resting period has finished will result in a lot of the juices leaking out, which may not be desirable.
11. Slice the steak into ½ -inch (1 cm) strips, then fan out the slices and serve.
12. Enjoy.

As someone who is part of the lgbtq+, even with parents who i knew would support i was scared to come out? Why? Because i was scared they wouldnt. I was scared they'd say it was a phase, say i wasn't who i am. Of course that didnt happen, but they still refer to me as she and stuff. I understand why, because they're used to using that for me. My experience being me, being lgbtq+, its been okay. But there's people who's parents will disown them, hurt them, even k1ll them just for not fitting in with the cishet societal norms. Being vegan is just a dietary choice. Being vegan is a choice. Being lgbtq+ is not.
My mom calls my sibling, who goes by they/them, by she/her, and called “her” an “it” one time as a power move. Her mom and my therapist says my sibling is going through a phase. And that’s mild in comparison to what others deal with. At least they have a roof over their head.

I am a bi vegan, and I don’t think this is quite a fair comparison. I’ll say, for the majority, it’s harder and more risky to come out as gay, bi, etc than it is to tell someone you don’t support the unnecessary slaughter or exploitation of billions of smart animals. Unfortunately most humans care less about animal abuse than having a different sexual orientation. People who have a different orientation or idenity are brutally bullied even to the point of suicide, so they are far more affected. I don’t think cows are killing themselves… yet. Humans are animals, so instead of comparing, shouldn’t we show compassion to both? You could start by not comparing the two. It’s not even close to the same.

In other countries, it is illegal to be gay. You could be put in jail, fined, or killed. Even in America you could be disowned, assaulted, or killed. Or told you're going to hell, sent to therapy, pressured into "changing". There's really no comparison. Just noting that when you eat corn or beans or whatever, your actually "harming" animals. Let this be an example. When farmers, you know farm with their tractors and all, that they are actually running over animals sometimes? YES ANIMALS! This includes rabbits (bunnys), Snakes, Coyotes, Nesting birds, Mice, etc. Farmers accidently do it but even if they were to see it most of them won't swerve out of the way. It might very well be because all homosexual people I know don't try take some sort of moral high ground and tell me how being hetero, or what ever else is a bad thing. They respect who I am and I respect who they are. Your VEGAN positioning is not about you making your life choices and living with it, but rather you trying to shame, belittle, bully vegetarians, omnivores into adopting your dietary life choices.

My brother is bisexual leaning towards gay, and he gets verbally and physically abused because of this. Don’t try to compare your silly little vegan party saying that it’s hard. And before you say “I am verbally abused” it’s only because you put that on yourself. Most vegans don’t try to lure people into their cult of not hurting animals, but you are something else. Ingredients
2 tomahawk ribeyes (approximately 2.5 lb each)
¼ cup extra-virgin olive oil
1 shallot minced
1 stick unsalted butter softened
3 cloves of garlic minced
basic steak dry rub (recipe follows)
special tools: one extension rack
Basic Steak Dry Rub
2 tbsp. hot smoked paprika
2 tbsp. light brown sugar
3 tbsp. kosher salt
3 tsp. cracked black pepper
2 tsp. ground thyme
1 tsp. ground rosemary
1 tsp. chili powder

FOOD PREP
First, in a small bowl, thoroughly mix your basic steak dry rub ingredients.
Next, in a small sauté pan, add the olive oil and heat until smoking. Add 1 minced shallot and 3 cloves of minced garlic and cook over low heat, allowing the garlic and shallots to cook in the hot oil until fragrant. Place 2 (approximately 2 ½ lb. each) tomahawk ribeyes into a large baking dish. Using a mesh strainer, pour the garlic shallot olive oil over the steaks.
Then, In a small bowl, blend together 1 stick of unsalted butter softened, shallots and garlic and set aside.
Finally, rub the steaks with the flavored oil and season liberally with basic steak dry rub seasoning.

Fuel: We recommend Kingsford® Original Charcoal Briquets and 3 or 4 Kingsford® BBQ Smoking Chunks on top of the ashed-over briquets for a deep, smoky flavor.
Method: Two-Zone Method
Temp: 350°F to 375°F

THE COOK
Place the grate on the grill and add an extension rack to the grill, and cover until ready to use.
When you’re at temp, put cooking oil on a folded paper towel. Grab the oiled paper towel with long-handled tongs and oil the grate thoroughly.
Place steaks on the extension rack as far away from the heat as possible, cover and allow to smoke for 8 to 10 minutes.
Remove the steaks and the extension rack from the grill.
Return the steaks to the grill over high heat and grill 3 to 4 minutes per side for medium rare.
Once the steaks have reached doneness, remove, plate, and top with the garlic-shallot butter. Rest the steaks 10 minutes before serving.

Are there rude terms to refer to vegans? No. Coming out as gay to someone could be very hard or very easy depending on the person and the relationship you have with them, yes. But, if you grew up in a place where being gay(I’m using this as an umbrella term) was frowned upon, saying something as simple as “I’m gay” can be the hardest thing somebody would ever do.
