The Alliance has been around for longer than the orcish Horde, though it didn't really click together until it had to, to FIGHT the Horde (AKA, the version of the Horde that came through the Dark Portal, after absolutely wrecking Draenor). So I think the both of you have good points. :U
For the Alliance was a warcry that was stated before For the Horde. The complete whitewash of the Horde during WC3 seems to have made everyone forget anything that happened before WC3.
Actually no. The Horde was first formed on Draenor some time before the genocide of the Draenei for the express purpose of that genocide by Kil'Jaeden's manipulations of the orcs. The Alliance was founded after the Dark Portal was opened the Kingdom of Stormwind was butchered and the survivors noted that the orcs would come north. There is most likely atleast a decade between these two foundings.
