The one thing that makes these videos so interesting and enjoyable is the fact that you've included the history of your finds. Keep making these videos and I look forward to watching them as you post them.
You should sell mystery candles! How fun would that be?! You could hide one of your found treasures inside the candles you make and sell them as mystery candles! Love your videos and art work!
"I have this woman's head!!!!" lmao
Lol! x
It's awesome to see a young person so excited about finding antique bottles. Nice finds.
It's wonderful to see a young lady who isn't afraid to get her hands dirty. I'm loving how you are able to re-purpose things. With everything made of plastic now its nice to see you saving glass bottles and pottery. Who knows how long those places will be around for anyone to dig. :)
I think the red bar you've found is actually a bar of sealing wax, that was used to seal letters and parcels. It was melt on the paper and sometimes a seal was pressed on it.
No stranger than any other Mudlarkers , Beachcombers and collectors of bits and pieces each with a history of their own, and a story to be told
Thank you for showing us all the beautiful things you find!. I love your voice!, Is very sweet!.
The amount of manhrs to clean the bottles but the outcome is priceless. Hats off to you ladies.
Young lady you are not odd at all. You are a beautiful inspiration. Keep saving history as much as you can. Here's to many more wonderful adventures.
Fascinating that so much buried information can still be retieved from our recent past and brought back to life
You're not strange, I grew up doing this and still love it. I love watching your channel, your voice is very sweet and soothing by the way. I can't video my voice because I find it irritating to listen too lol
When both of you said goodbye I just had to smile. And I said God bless them thank you both beautiful ladies I enjoy your videos
Your videos are relaxing. Music, scenery and your soothing voice make for very enjoyable videos. Keep em coming. 🙂🙏🧡
I could listen to you for hours and hours.
Oh how lovely the glass is when cleaned up. Especially the bubbly wavy glass. The candlestick and candles are wonderful and all the finishing touches of packaging, labels etc is too. You and your mom sure are a great team together. I love that.
It's pretty cool you found a bottle from here in Canada. I just wish it was from Newfoundland. Your videos are so relaxing with the beautiful music. I loved the guitar work in that one! The ink jars and candles turned out amazing! I like when the wax runs down the bottles as well. I also love it when you do the history of the companies that made those old bottles. You lovely ladies are an inspiration to all. I hope you have a very Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year.
Your so interesting I could listen to you talk all day from morning to sun set.
Your ink bottle candles are absolutely fabulous! Love watching your adventures :) All best from British Columbia Canada
That cream jar with the lady on is gorgeous
I giggled out loud at work when you found that cod bottle. It’s fun just watching you have fun!! I’m a mudlark at heart! Thanks from S Florida!
I love you girls. I love watching the things you pick up and the way you appreciate them. Thanks. Ladies. Come again anytime.!
It doesn't surprise me a bit that you're wearing your grandads coat and it's very fetching on you too. So fun to watch you and how excited you are. My days on the Fife coast were doing much the same thing and I know everyone thought me daft but I loved touching all the dishes and bits of things that others touched before me, long before me. Lovely wee finds and love that you use them to create for your etsy shop.
As I am a old school sign painter 👩🎨 and actually design advertising I have to say that the design of the label is top notch! Wonderful job on the candles as well as the ad. Brilliant just simply beautiful 🤩🤩🤩
I absolutely love the relationship that you two have. Best friends and family. That's what family is about. Keep up with the videos. You'll be a big name on UA-cam in no time.
They already are!!!
@sofaking wetoddid It's not the point of the 13K subs. It's the point of how little time they've done it. I like these ladies and the content they show on their channel. I hope some day they get their 100K plaque and see where it goes from there.
11:15 Beware the mudlark line that should never be crossed; where one goes from a Smeagol to a Gollum. lol
You and mum make me smile. You both are always so excited to find the simplest things. You two make gorgeous jewelry. I love your channel. The music is reminiscent of our mountain music. Greetings from the U.S.A.
OMG!!! I was late in finding this channel and I am so disappointed to have missed all the beautiful things they have made. 😥
You know when your at a store or etsy shop and they have something you feel you cant live without? You just have to buy one? Well, this is that item for me! I love hand made items! Especially with the candles! This is that one item to me! I will take 10 of them!!!!
This mum and daughter are the most beautiful young UA-cam channel and deserve kind comments and utmost respect ...it's truly amazing to see this most fantastic mum and daughter video ..well done it is just wonderful. Thank-you for your efforts and hard work .regards from *A & S .
Mom you have a beautiful daughter and you all have so much energy between you and her love you all have fun
Such a great history lesson in glass, and you are so creative and talented candles are so lovely!!!
You two are in a sort of heaven out there busy with all sorts of creative projects. Amazing really. Even the pea hens seem very interested and curious at the end.
Found your channel not long ago. I love how enthusiastic you guys are!!! I have some old bottles I keep in my china cabinet
Most beautiful woman in all the Isles. Period. You do such wonderful work. Keep it up.
Love the labels, your candles, ingenious, oh, yeah, etsy
Woot! You are finally wearing gloves. Proud of you😊
You speak so well!
Your excitement over your finds is adorable! If only everyone could approach their work with such joy - what a world it would be! Thanks for sharing your enthusiasm and your finds. ❤️
Anyone who hasn't been thrilled to find buried treasure and felt their heart beating quickly probably can't relate to you digging around in an old dump! I can though and its vicariously exciting! How fun! Merry Christmas to you from Canada! Hope you continue to make these adventurous videos in the future.
The candles were a terrific idea. The labels are so professional
This question may have been asked many times already but here goes anyway. "How many years in the future will it be when a young mudlark and her mum find an old discarded stone "Candle jar" made by some long gone Northern Mudlarks?
I know it's kinda randomly asking but does anyone know of a good site to watch newly released series online?
@Ronald Zain I would suggest FlixZone. You can find it on google :)
@Ronald Zain i use flixzone. You can find it by googling =)
I want that fresh cream bottle! You could make a candle out of that with a vanilla smell 😊 oh wait you did make candles out of the bottles...it was at the end. Yeah!!
The Italians may arm wrestle you for title of best glass workers in the world. Especially those who were shipped to the island of Moreno and never allowed off with their secrets. That’s prob where your trade bead came from. You are delightful and I’m so glad I found your channel. Stay safe out there you 2. The smile face creeped me out. Watch too many Brit scary shows. Love what you did with the ink wells.
love your creative skills. The candlesticks are brilliant.
They are so clean and new looking again, glad they all can have a "second" life :) Dug up by a pretty girl's dainty hands ;)
That's so lovely of you to say x
Thanks. I meant it ;)
That old jar lid is from the same area my ancestors came from! They started in Moravia and made their way to Bohemia as time went on. It's amazing to think you're holding something that was made during the portion of history my family was there. I love these videos and how you always find bits of information to share. It's easy to get lost in.
One man's trash is another man's treasure.
You two bring so much joy every time you find your treasures. Love watching and am learning so much. I'm so happy to have found your channel. Thank you!! ❤️
That makes us so happy! Thank you xx
Your excitement is infectious 😀
Really wish that Alex showed us her collection of bottlestoppers!

You ARE a Strange and WONDERFUL creature!! And magical & creative & perfectly delightful! I am SO, so happy to have found your videos! You two have made my life better in ways you can't imagine! Thank you! Women after my own heart, I am also absolutely bonkers crazy for stuff I find in the mud and sand. Other people's trash is my favorite treasure. Thank you, thank you!💕🌺🌼🌸💕
Alex
You make me smile with your enthusiasm when you find an un-broken bottle. Simple love the Northern Mudlarks. From your fan in North Carolina U.S.A..
Digging for history is not strange... lol - I'm jealous!
I've just discovered mud larking on youtube, it must be so exciting, every hunt can bring mystery treasures. I love that you both up cycle into something even more beautiful, thank you for such a lovely video
I'm only half way through this video and commenting hehe. You've done such a great job with the clean up, some look brand new. Also love the music, I don't listen to much of this genre. Really enjoying it. 😊🕵️♀️
Can't wait to buy a candle! And I'm so happy to see the peahens!
You two are just so lovely to watch and listen to! Thank you for the time and research. ❤ p.s. I just watched twice! 🤣
Liebe Mama und Tochter,
Tolle Funde. I wish you a merry Christmas.
LG Jette
Good job! One of the best mudlarking videos I have seen.
Wow, wow, wow , HOW I WISH I CAN COME WITH YOU. I LOVE YOUR ADVENTURE!!!
You two are so eloquent in all the things you do! Love how you tell the stories on some of your finds. Amazing!!
Your photography, video, collections, crafts and jewelry are very well done.
I was thinking... If u get yourself a high speed rotary tool with diamond tips ( u can get inexpensive ones) you can cut and engrave glass. So... If u find a nice bottle bottom but top is broken off u can cut it even and upcycle it😊 plus the cut edge can be heated with a propane torch til it glows and that process removes sharp egdges. Hope I helped😊❤😊
Everyone in the world wants one of those candle sets now , they’re gorgeous
I'm from S.wales in the United Kingdom and back in the 1977 I was 7yrs old and we used find loads of brilliant treasures like these in a huge rubbish dump right next to my small estate and there would be lots of bottles with a marble in the neck of the bottle we used to call "Alley Bottles". We would dig them up and leave them there, OMG how stupid and ignorant were we totally love your videos especially Mother and Daughter sharing the same awesome hobby. Old treasures big or small is a part of our history and heritage, keep digging as long as you can love the channel.
Thank you so much! Sounds like you had a lot of fun as a child with the bottles! xx
@@NorthernMudlarks Yes, yes i did quite alot of fun at 7yrs old I was into fossils and that place had a abundance of large sea snails (I think), dragonflies and trees a old gentleman used to show us the safe and dangerous area's because it was a very old coal mine by a river and a very old rubbish tip, all that glorious treasure, history and my god the amount cockle shells was unbelievable. What i can remember you two ladies would have been knee deep in bottles of all sorts the place isn't completely covered but saying that there's a couple of places I know of which lightly covered. But watching you two ladies dig, does bring back good old memories and i do miss that piece of youth. So ladies don't stop digging and i love the channel awesome work.
Mellins bottle is indeed a beauty
Incredible bottles with incredible histories!!
Thank you for telling their story!
I love watching you and your mum. I love beach combing wish I could find things like that
What fantastic finds and that cream jar wow!! Beautiful those jars look like artwork on your table so pretty ! All my relatives are from New Brunswick , I was born in Canada so enjoyed that medicine bottle but how awful to be given poison!! Great history and video well done!
Y’all are so talented. Thank you so much for allowing us to follow your journey.
I love the ink bottles. They would go well with my fountain pen collection. I love what you all did with them.
I agree fountain pen collections really are incredible.
Alex in wonder land.
The candles in genuine ink bottles were amazing! You both display such fine artistry, craftmanship and attention to detail. :-)
You should take the cog bottles with the broken tops. You can buy glass cutters to cut the broken tops off and smooth them enough to make drinking glasses out of them. They would be great! I would love a couple of drinking glasses made from them!!
You could have your own show! Your voice is so perfect for teaching us all these things, I can tell its your passion. I love it 😊
Did you like history at school? Or what were you favourite subjects? 😊
Thank you once again!! ❤️
Wow, thank you!! I hated history in school haha, the way it is taught is so uninspiring. I learnt more about history from my mum during holidays, trips to castles, museums and roman forts etc. I liked art and drama most at school, I'm creative more than academic 😊 xx
@@NorthernMudlarks that's so awesome
You guys seem to be so close, like she's your best friend. That's special!
You are so good at editing!!
Have a lovely day
X
Loved the idea with the candles
Young lady you are precious
God bless you and yours
It is so amazing that her head was a fit
Love the music. It sounds like music from Kentucky.
We all enjoy your treasures.
Alll those broken pottery and glass pieces could make some nice art. Maybe mosaics etc
The birds obviously find you a great source ofentertainment. Thankyou.
I absolutely love these videos. I’m from the states (Florida) and there isn’t anything cool like this in my area! These videos are so relaxing and exciting, and if I can say your accents are so pleasing! Thank you for these adventures for us people who can’t go on them!!
the huge jar bottom can also be a round window piece these originate in the 15th century but in the 19th century, this type of lead and glass type of making windows had a bit of a revival because going medieval was all the rage in the 1860s to 80s.
your videos warm my heart, especially in this cold cold weather
Thank you!
You are definitely two talented ladies. By the way
My daughter loves her sea glass neckace!!
I just found this lovely channel quite by accident, and am subbing now. Please be very careful when you go out by yourselves. Take pepper spray or something. You are such a great team. I wish my daughter and I had a relationship like yours..
Candlestick holder upcycle is brilliant..
What a lovely gift those ink bottles with your homemade candles make! You are both so talented and creative!☺️
You ladies are living my dream!
I am thrilled with your bottle finds. I love the beads you find. I love all the bricks you show us. I would be transporting them all to make a garden with.thanks for sharing your journeys through historical finds with us. Carlisle, USA
Your wonderful candles pass birdie inspection ! They will make great gifts.
Greetings from the Black Country. Sir Henry Wellcome, pictured at 24:25, must be the great philanthropist who set up the famous Wellcome Trust in 1936 and which is still going strong. It is a Charitable Trust which provides funds for research into human and animal health.
It is based in London and is one of the largest Charitable Trusts in the world. Thank you, Sir Henry, your good work goes on!
The cream jar and the stout bottle wow very nice finds and quite valuable I think
Thank you for doing so much research ~ love 💕 how each item has a story to tell !!!
Glad you like them! xx
@@NorthernMudlarks Hi Gail and Alex. I was especially interested in the history behind the green bottle from the Messrs Burroughs and Wellcome. It so happens that the Burroughs-Wellcome pharmaceutical company had [or still has] a headquarters located in Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill [otherwise also known as the RTP [Research Triangle Park] in my home state of North Carolina, which also has a town called Snow Hill. Funny how things circle around and connect with each other in unexpected ways. That cream jar was a great little find, Alex, it's so pretty! It's a pity that the dump site got filled in and you can no longer dig there. The thought of all those treasures that got destroyed in the filling in process is heartbreaking. Great find on the whole Codd bottle! That "medicine" bottle had a very disturbing history behind it. Imagine taking something that's supposed to make you feel better, only for it to be poisoning you instead. Insane!
P.S. I'm so happy to have found your channel, it's so relaxing, wholesome and refreshing in the midst of all the madness that's going on in the world these days.
I'm gobsmacked that you found, on different occasions, the head of the figurine, and then part of the body that goes with it. What are the chances of that? Astronomical.
Just a bit of advice. Those short white glazed bottles you found so many of are actually furniture polish bottles, or black polish bottles for blacking a fireplace etc. If you find any with a pouring lip then they are ink bottles! The Andrew eckfords ginger beer bottle is a quite rare bottle, very hard to come by. You are very lucky to have that dump! Best regards, Brian.
Love the candles labels. What talent. I once found a Coddington bottle with my old town's name on it Tyldesley Lancashire. Wish I still had it . Keep up the good work.
I love your videos! You find such interesting things. Will you show some of the things you have made from your found items?
Thank you!
🦚 Watched again, May 2024. 🦚
Have watched all your videos, thank you so much! 🦚 love from USA ❤👍
There's something about old bottles and crocks. They were just so well made and detailed. I'm so sorry that I never pay attention to all the old bottles when I was young, especially the blue ones, like the common Milk of Magnesium bottles. We just never suspect that it would all come to an end one day :(
