This might be a hot take, but I'm personally happy that Kingsley doesn't have the cape piece anymore. I have the cmf series Kingsley, and the cape is always flowing way too far away from the torso/legs and ruins the look as a result. I think the best option or at least the one I'm going to take is to take the arms/head/hat from the cmf, and combine it with the new torso and legs to have a good looking Kingsley that doesn't need the cape
Thanks for showing us all the details Holly, love the facade, not just for Harry Potter but as part of my city build too, its great to see the interiors as well! Glad you are still with us! 💖
Great job on continuing to put out quality LEGO content! This summer wave looks awesome but so expensive. I’ll definitely be evaluating each piece closely so thank you for the early detailed review! Keep on enjoying your holiday!
I really want to try modify it to a baseplate and try get it to at least from the front, be compatible with them. It's a MOD video idea for the near future
Overall it's a cool set. The exterior detailing is gorgeous, honestly impressed at how good it looks. The figures are okay. Tonks has to be my favourite, although Sirius is good. Think they dropped the ball on Kreacher's face print. Really liked how they included elements from Deathly Hallows with the piano and Regulus' room. For the bare bit with only a chair I think they could've had a sticker/print of Sirius' mother in the wall piece as that's a pretty memorable part of the house in the book. The play feature is very smooth, impressed how Lego pulled it off. But tbh I think you could almost not have it and cut the price down and then have larger interiors, so no triangular floor spaces. But as with most Lego nowadays the price is just a bit much for me so I'm going to pass on it. Great review as usual Holly, happy you showed all those cool sticker designs off properly.
i actually really love the play feature and thatspart of the draw for me woth this set. but dont get me wrong i always wait for 20% off before i buy so im looking at this with a lower price tag in mind
I think it would only look ok if you were doing a full display in a glass case or something with other sets . It would even blend into a Lego city with a Harry Potter Hogwarts section within but on it's own it just doesn't really work too well.
I really like how both the Ministry of Magic and 12 Grimmauld Place are kind of Order of the Phoenix and Deathly Hallows sets at the same time, with Grimmauld Place including the piano and Regulus Black’s room, and the Ministry including the Department of Mysteries.
I love this as a minimal space set/playset. The feature and appearance is top notch but similar to the burrow I feel like it definitely NEEDS a UCS version. it could be incredible and personally feels really iconic. Minifig wise I would have taken quality over quantity.
I wish they had Walpurga Black’s screaming portrait from the books, but they didn’t really show her in the movies. Her portrait appears in the LEGO game though.
I thought I wanted this set but It looks really small and Im not sure I'd buy it for full price. I really love the new crookshanks piece though. My favourite colour is radioactive traffic cone! Have a great time in England! 😀
Crookshanks is male actually, i think. But great review! I'm thankful you managed to get it up so quickly. Think this'll be the only set i'll get from this wave.
Great review, love the look of this and the minifigs. But I’m thinking of waiting and getting the set when it’s reduced. Hope you’re having a great holiday!
I was watching the top 10 lego sets video and I thought that maybe the D2C HOGWARTS express could be motorised for the price point its at maybe it could happen! I saw in your video that you said you wanted a remake of the old one so maybe lego's making a newer motorised hogwarts express
I recently had been wondering the same thing, it would certainly justify the price more and I think it would really add a lot fo charm and magic to the set
Don't know who decided that face printing on Kreacher was the one to go with. No mouth for starters looks very off, and the wrinkles just look too dark and angular.
I’m going to put Kreacher in front of the window, just to make it look like Universal (visited 2 weeks ago). I also think I’m going to save this for October, hoping for a GWP
So sorry to be like this but DHP1 is my favorite of the movies so I have to say this - they visit Regulus' room in Part 1, not Part 2. But you got the piano scene right and it's still a great review!
I wonder if the the weird piece on the chair could even be the sack of dead rats Sirius accidentally left there? and then Molly went and sat down on them! Haha Ugh! I do Love this set, But there’s a few things I want to change: eg even though from the front it’s the 3 buildings & looks terrific & authentic with contrasting light vs dark buildings, i want the whole building to look darker, especially seeing interior is all #12. So I’m going to swap out the white and warm colours for more dark grey and black.
Ps. What’s with all the triangle pieces in 2022 sets that cut the base play space in half? Sure for moving functions, but….Eg Sirius escape. That’s just stingy Lego!
I really like how holly is giving more negative reviews of sets since she was removed from the ambassador network. Now she doesn’t have to be threatened by being kicked out, she says that she was feeling threatened, and I’m glad that now she is expressing 100 percent her own opinion
😊oh wow holly .as U in UK you get to cee the Harry Potter set s Orly ..😊..oh it a little short an not as deep buy okay. in Lego City to go up against back of other sets .help s 😊.as sume have built simler build like this set 😊.don't think I get .any the new HP sets 😊
One of the most interesting building sets in a while. It looks a bit short but the function and interior is great, just a lot of empty space! Definitely get to Leicester Square lego store, the models are great!
Love your honest reviews Holly! Keep it up. You don’t need LAN and all that negativity that comes with it. Glad you got this set early in the uk. I look forward to seeing how you modify it. I plan to buy one first and see if I need a second one to make it a full modular but the transformation might be tricky to modify.
It’s really interesting to see a bit of a trend emerging in this wave with multiple sets having brilliant exteriors and then interiors that are a bit of a let down
I already mentioned this before, but I feel like a huge demographic with some of these new sets such as this one and “Ministry of Magic” are more the ‘collector market’ than a general adolescent appeal who may not remember some of these more niche locations from the books and films. That being the case, they really should have made these sets more elaborate and doubled the price to compensate because many of us have no problem saving up for amazing sets like ‘Diagon Alley’ and the mini-fig ‘Hogwarts Castle’. I mean I saved for a good year and and am INCREDIBLY happy with those sets!
Fun little detail with this set! In the books (and you can briefly see it in the movies), the umbrella stand in the hallway of Grimmauld Place is made from a Troll’s foot. And I love how they’ve added that for the set!
I’m really loving this new style of video. Now u r free from LAN, I feel like you are giving your real honest opinions and are actually giving the set more (deserved) criticism.
Hey Holly, since you said you’re in the UK, I’d absolutely recommend visiting the Harry Potter Studios Tour in London if you haven’t already. I’ve been a number of times, I always find something new every time I go! Hope you have a good time in the UK!
The tan bats are from Deathly Hallows part 1 when Harry goes into Sirius bedroom, there are two skeleton dragons i think handging from the ceiling and by pulling a string you could make them look like theyre flying :) Great and honest review! Really excited about these new Harry potter sets and this one will definitely be on my list for christmas! 😃 Keep up the great work and much love from sweden! ❤️❤️
Glad you're still going after LAN. They sound passive aggressive, petty, and toxic honestly. You can always tell who is trying to suck up to LAN by not calling out quality control, print issues, cheaping out on fig detail, overpriced sets, etc. Brickset has gotten a lot worse recently. Glad you're calling them out for the price v size here! Kreacher needed & deserved dual-molded legs for feet like Dobby. Just another cheap out IMO.
Holly, this video is sheer genius. I love that you found this, and you managed to do a really REALLY great review. Super thorough, now I know what I’m getting myself into.. maybe I’ll just be buying parts & extra sticker sheets- I love this set & the play feature, the figs are 50/50…. But making this a modular style build with a little more detail is definitely the way I want to go with it. Excellent job, keep up the great work!
It's kind of a sad video... I feel like in a recent video you were talking about how excited you were for this set. And that uh... seems to have not remained consistent. :( I'm sorry. I hate when something excites me and then it's disappointing. I sympathize.
At last, we finally get a Kreacher minifig! I feel like the set should have included the portrait of Sirius’ mother, I’m a little disappointed that it didn’t.
it does. It's a sticker in the room right to the dining area. The sticker shows a curtain lowered over the painting, like it is described in the books.
Someone funnily enough got their Lego pre order sent early, but there have been some popping up across Europe since they’re the only ones getting them on the 1st
I hate to ask, but I kind of have to, who is constantly farting? You can clearly hear it quite a few times in the video. Is it a joke or a stomach issue?
Nice review! I like the new sets but only buying three.. this one dumbledores office and the horntail, all the other sets looks nice but they're not worth it... like the ministry looks poorly done imo 🤷🏻♂️
I’ve built of all those so far and to me Dumbledore’s Office felt a little expensive for what you get. This and the ministry also feel a bit much but the builds were a lot better and more interesting for the money
Hi Holly, I absolutely love your videos and reviews!! I’ve always wanted a Lego Kreacher minifigure and a Twelve Grimmauld Place set!! Hopefully I’ll be able to buy this soon and add in a spare Slytherin’s Locket -from The Ministry Of Magic!!
To be fair they did such a good job on the CMF version of kingsley it makes sence they didn’t go to in depth with this version because they would be too similar
The hat on the other hand is very plain….also the bats in the bedroom are actually meant to represent the bat skeletons in deathly hallows part 1 when they were in the room! 😁
I'm surprised the anmount of stickers doesn't bother you, to me it's such a huge letdown combined with the size in comparison to what I thought it would be! Thanks for the review, I thought I'd get this one for sure before I watched this, saved me some money 🙂
Love your honest reviews, Holly! Keep up the good work. It's a cool looking set, but for the price ($120 American), it doesn't seem like a good value. The Tonks is the best looking minifigure in the set. Interesting decision by Lego to put Crookshanks in the set but not Hermione.
No way! You got this set early where did you get it?? I'm in the uk and was going to try smiths toys at the weekend, was stunned you've got this review out so soon 🥳 did you get the ministry as well? I have to have that yesterday! It looks amazing 🤩 good job 👏
Thank you for being so quick and prompt reviewing these sets. “Radioactive traffic-cone” literally had me laugh out loud when you showed Crookshanks’s not great coloring.. 😂 Going to pre-order these from Target here in the U.S. as soon as they pop-up online. Also, 100% that new Tonks aesthetic with the leg-printing is fantastic. Great job Lego!
Man can't believe they added Garfield in this set, now I might pick this set up
This might be a hot take, but I'm personally happy that Kingsley doesn't have the cape piece anymore.
Would u prefer it shorter then.
Yeah I hated that piece so annoying
That’s a very daring take indeed
That's not a hot take: that's a scalding take.
That was literally what I was going to do! But yeah the cape piece is horrible it's never staying bye the legs and gets caught up in the arms!
Would you consider doing a video seeing how compatible this set is with the modulars? I'd definitely get it if it would work well in a Lego city

I’m with 100% lives the exterior and the mini figures but I would have happily paid more for a little bit of a larger more detailed interior
I really like how both the Ministry of Magic and 12 Grimmauld Place are kind of Order of the Phoenix and Deathly Hallows sets at the same time, with Grimmauld Place including the piano and Regulus Black’s room, and the Ministry including the Department of Mysteries.
Also, Mundungus Fletcher should 100% have been in this set.
This certainly needs a double depth more modular type
Great, first, high quality review!
I love this as a minimal space set/playset. The feature and appearance is top notch but similar to the burrow I feel like it definitely NEEDS a UCS version. it could be incredible and personally feels really iconic. Minifig wise I would have taken quality over quantity.
The tan bats in Sirus' room are seen in Deathly Hallows when Harry goes in there. They're bat skeletons that move.
I wish they had Walpurga Black’s screaming portrait from the books, but they didn’t really show her in the movies. Her portrait appears in the LEGO game though.

Great review! Have a great trip! You should try a video where you impove the set. Just as an idea :)
My wallet’s going to hurt pretty bad when Lego Harry Potter season starts
Same the three sets I want first are all £115 , £90 and £80 whoops so worth it though I'll cry later 🤣
Did you get any of the other Harry Potter sets from the summer wave early? Can’t wait for your ministry of magic review!
Crookshanks is male actually, i think. But great review! I'm thankful you managed to get it up so quickly. Think this'll be the only set i'll get from this wave.

Small nitpick: Crookshanks is a boy cat :)
I. LOVE. THIS. WAVE. Definitely grabbing this set ASAP.
Those nails look handy for removing wrongly placed bricks.

Think I'm going to need to bricklink 4 of those printed ear pieces to put on the electronic Mario and Luigi figures lol

Yeahhhj Id use this with my Lego city though it’s Harry Potter 😅😅it fits the modular look 🤷🏽

I personally prefer this, it's more exciting, better overal build and much better figure selection. Also easier to display
@@HollyOnFilm alright thanks holly appreciate the response!
Can’t wait to see someone turn this into a modular
I’m someone, or I will be in a week or two
How did you get it early?

I really like how holly is giving more negative reviews of sets since she was removed from the ambassador network. Now she doesn’t have to be threatened by being kicked out, she says that she was feeling threatened, and I’m glad that now she is expressing 100 percent her own opinion
Not so much more negative as it is more honest 🤣
It is slightly too small for such a big building in the movies. Literally half an inch would make a world of a difference.
Deathly Hallows Part 1 you mean.
I'd love to see someone try to buy two and improve it
That’s exactly what I plan to do, as well as rebuild it into a modular style street
It doesn’t seem worth the price to me. Thanks for the honest review 👍
Yeah that “ear” print doesn’t really look pg tbh……
I would see Sirius Mum
How’d you get this early
I am happy this set came out however it is a little disappointing - feels unfinished and rushed.,....
