I used a video capture adapter - one end has the RCA cables to connect to VCR out, and the other end is a USB plug. It came with software to let me capture the video on my PC. The one I used was the VC500 video capture from Diamond Multimedia. If you have any Late Night it would be great to see them!
Back when Dave was really funny.....wish I didn't erase all of those tapes of the NBC show, I would record over previous nights show the next night to save tape. He seemed to lose his wit when he switched networks. Like two different people.
Unfortunately NBC kept the rights to a lot of the regular gags him and Merrill came up with back then. She explained that when she came as a guest on the CBS show.
@stevations I used to do the same thing to save VHS tapes (tape over episodes)... Luckily I saved a few, but there are still a bunch that I'm kicking myself for erasing..!
@stevations bullshit. look at his early shows on CBS. those might be his best. he never tried harder than in those episodes and it rarelyu came out bad. its like he had something to prove. prove he was still the same dave as in NBC, prove he could handle 11:OO, try to be big chin. after the heart surgery and his son, plus the age and getting married, he doesnt have the same energy but hes still the king of late night
love dave miss him
Yeah, truly fine props. And he even looks a little bored and impatient (classic Dave). Love the old writing and delivery.

I like it for sure! BUT WILL IT FLOAT?
1:29 - Mookie Wilson was not a Yankee. That's a Dan Pasqua water-pik.
I have a ton of tapes still left over. What do you use to get them from VHS to the computer?
