Welcome to Floht Haus - a modernist escape, a 3000sf retreat, balanced over an ocean facing, cliffside lot. Hidden in the trees, floating above Howe Sound, this 3 bedroom, 2.5 bathroom home is your sanctuary. A dramatic cantilever - one of the longest in a residential building in Western Canada - floats above the landscape, defying gravity.
Magnificent floor to ceiling triple-glazed European sliding windows create a seamless transition from inside to outside and an experience like none other. Panoramic ocean and mountain views from almost every room in the house become paintings that change by the minute.
Slide open the 7’ wide by 10’ tall windows in the living room and inhale the ocean air and watch eagles soar at eye level and orcas cruise through the sound below. Frameless glass pocket doors on each side of the kitchen open to expansive decks each providing their own unique forest and ocean views.
Below, the entire ocean-facing side of the home features floor to ceiling glass, with sliders in all the bedrooms.
Clad in natural Ashlar slate and dark-stained cedar, the elegant and minimalistic exterior is mirrored on the inside with designer light fixtures, low profile fully-integrated lighting, Scavolini cabinetry with integrated Miele appliances, and a free-standing glass & stainless steel fireplace.
This architectural wonder in nature awaits.

Amazing location and mostly well done architecture. But, I'm wondering why they made the cantilevered living room a solid box with a glass wall only at the far end? That design is standard in Malibu, where every beachfront home is sandwiched between very close neighboring homes, so blocking the view of them is necessary. But, this home appears to be surrounded by beautiful nature, so I would have preferred a 3-sided glass cantilevered structure instead.
