Loved the presentation, I really enjoyed it and learned quite a bit. Thank you so much..I did talk to Ed rwo weeks ago and ordered my antenna, will be ordering more next month.
The Ed Fong Antenna is working better when it comes to coverage and hitting the repeaters. In fact we're reaching three repeaters now instead of just one. Receiving Simplex traffic from all over including Sea World Area and even Disney. I'm very surprised that it works so well. Highly recommend
I have the GMRS base and Roll up 2m 7cm they are both 100% perfect I used the Rig experts stick pro antenna analyzer. I am going to add the roll up GMRS antenna as well.
Would have liked to also see comparison db of signal to UHF in a VHF 1/4 wave mobile. How bad does fake dual band problem effect mobile radios? I love my ed fong jpoles, but I'm hot going to mount one on my car.
I set up a combination 2 meter, 70 centimeter, MURS, GMRS/FRS, antenna for an operator. He seems happy. I used this design with a few small modifications in lengths.
Just ordered one of the Tri-Band antennas last week, UPS says it will be here Monday, so it was INCREDIBLE to run across this video! Thank you!! (Only been a ham for about two weeks now... KQ4GAG.)
How do you like it? Been a ham 26 years-but make most of my antennas. Thinking about buying this one. I do run the HF version of the J-pole, which is an end-fed 1/2-wave. It's great, for most of the reasons this one is--multiband, efficient, cheap to make, lightning safety. I had a big tree exploded by lighting less then 100' of my 1/2-wave wire, my radio was on. The strike exploded my fence charger, but didn't affect my radios at all. One was on a copper j-pole and the HF was on the Half-wave, both are grounded, dead-short and this makes them less able to pick up stray voltages.
I live in NYC and I have hard time found the 200 PSI, But thanks Mr Fong throw me a lifesaver… 👍

We're getting ready to test it compared to the Jpole Copper Antenna.
Great video, I learnt alot. Ed is very clever and I want to buy some of his antennas but not sure on postage to Australia. I'll need to look into it.
I got me one of the EF poles,..ED is such a nice guy.

Those antennas work great....

fantastic antenna thanks
Thanks for this.
In my area (Norway) our 70cm repeater is 434mhz. If I want to tune for this I need a longer stub - correct?
It is unlikely Ed will see your question. Please contact Ed via email. His address is edison_fong@hotmail.com
