Whenever you hear someone use the "when you stand next to him.." scouting strategy, you can dismiss whatever "take" that person has.
Unfortunately this is also part of the Patriots scouting strategy, bc they have no clue what they're doing.
Maye missed 3 out of 70 throws. Daniels missed 4 out of 50. Caleb missed a few too. The media just lies and spins false narratives, as usual.

Commanders fan here. The slander with Maye is wild. Patrick Mahomes missed the same throw in his pro day and missed a few long balls. The fact that Drake was throwing bombs off-platform on a dime is bananas. I personally like the Phillip Rivers comp with Drake, but he has a bit of Mahomes in him IMO. He is a raw prospect with a ton of upside and a cannon for an arm, but people will never make that comp because of skin color, which is dumb. I hope the commanders pick him, but we'll see.
@@hvrjstn big Patriots fan here. I am so addicted to this Draft. My honest thoughts are Caleb is going to be a bust I believe. Drake and Jaden I believe are both going to be elite quarterbacks in this league and Washington and New England fans are going to be very happy for the next 10+ years with our quarterbacks. I know you guys have the first pick, but if you take Drake or Jean Aiden, I don’t think you can go wrong either way. They are both going to be elite. Also, I am not going to be shocked if Chicago takes Drake or Jaden first.
@@hvrjstn I personally see a lot of Josh Allen and Ben Roethlisberger in Drake. Very hard to tackle and we always keep the drive going.
Riddick has a good eye; correct on Mahomes, Stroud, Wilson etc. well before drafts.

RG3 played in the Big 12. Daniels dominated the SEC with back to back 1k rushing seasons. NFL scouts always overplay their hands
Daniels played in the big 12 for 4 years and only average maybe slightly above for those years
Jayden rush for over 1k yards one time and passed for over 3k yards one time! Stop the🧢! His numbers were mediocre to average in the pac12 where defense doesn’t even exist. He Was bailed out by a good scheme, 2 first round WRs, and a high ranking pass blocking o line at LSU!😂
Not Daniels fault but the SEC wasn't really that good this year. Only Alabama and Missouri were top 25 defenses.

During Caleb’s pro day his dad was in the stands, not on the field. The Bears also said they had the visit setup with Caleb either the first week or second week of April.
Caleb is good for they Bears for the short term and will make them a playoff contending team, but as soon as his rookie contract is over, he will be out of Chicago if they don't offer him the highest paid QB contract in history
Side arm throwers struggle to throw over the middle because their release point is lower than the height of their offensive lineman. It's like trying to shoot over an opponent in basketball, shooting granny style. Penix has to shoot down the alley between his lineman to get a clear throw.

Everyone said the same thing about Lamar. He's holding up decently certainly alot better than Luck and RG3 did. People seem to forget that Lamar was tiny in Louisville.

So Maye or any QB not being able to run an offense, if not good for him, is worrying. If you're a good QB, you should be able to learn and be good in all types of systems. If you needed a tailored system then your not a good QB and football IQ isnt good which = bust.

Generally like AB, but some strange comments about Drake Maye comparisons. AB said that Maye's arm strength and size compare to Joe Burrow, and that in all things he's a tick below Josh Allen. Since Joe Burrow's arm strength is about a half day's worth of a grandfather clock's ticks below Josh Allen's, what is AB saying? Burrow and Allen are both terrific NFL quarterbacks, but they play quite differently. Obviously, Maye's arm is much stronger than Burrow's.

Washington was pretty much without their starting RB they ran for 46 yards , Michigan was by far the best Defense they faced, maybe best In college this year. JJ only completed 10 Passes Michigan ran for 303 yards and 4 TD’s Washington’s Defense was bad Ewers, Williams,Nix everyone had a throwing party on them. The past 2 years Pennix has been the best QB in College Football

Hopefully draft Daniels. I'm a Washington fan and don't get the Maye hype. I give form, progressions, and obviously rushing edge to Daniels. Maye is overhyped. I could see Bo Nix and Penix being better pros than Maye. If hes great at anything, I don't see it.

If you don't put at least a solid OL for any QB in the NFL your QB will struggle especially a rookie.

Penix got injured early in the Michigan game also Washington’s offense is was Perdicated on the deep ball but if you watch the Texas game the ball he through to McMillan in the endzone was into a tight window over the middle. He can make NFL throws judging him off one game is silly the people who got all wet after the Texas game are the same ones saying he is no good two weeks later after losing to Michigan.he is not perfect and has things to work on but I love his intangibles and you can not teach the kind of arm strength he has
Penix has been injured every year and has two knee surgeries. He didn’t get banged up against UM, his own quote from playing UM was that the defense confused him and he was seeing “ghosts”. Penix is one more injury away from being a waste and can’t handle tough defenses.

I think so too. Caleb also just seems like he'll be too much of a diva for it to be worth it. If somehow the Pats had the no.1 pick I'd pray we stay away from Caleb.
Daniels will be the biggest dissapointment. Smaller Justin Fields.
Yep. Caleb will peak later this year. Maye was arguably the best in NCAA and had a tough year and had a new offense and no talent around him. He had the highest PFF against power 5 teams. He's very far from his developmental ceiling. Caleb is already there. He just has to learn NFL speed and feel. If Drake becomes efficient at the NFL level he'll put up MVP numbers.
None of these guys will be playing in 10 years 😂😂😂

@@brucestanley9330 Maye is a carbon copy of Love. Even had real similar circumstances in college too. Love was awesome in 2018 (32 tds, only 6 ints, and like 6 more rush tds) but then he lost his HC/OC and 8 starters on offense and had a rough 2019. As for anticipation, its probably Love's best trait.

Except Maye also had by far the worst numbers when pressured. In fact, Maye was worse than the other to 6 in basically all categories except passes of 30+ yards, in which he was by far the best.

Daniels wouldn’t weigh in before his pro day and came in at 210 but wouldn’t run the 40. Why? Because it is junk weight and water weight and would have slowed him down. JJ did the same thing with his weight. Maye and Caleb have weighed the same all year. How is this not obvious? If Daniels was actually 210 then he would have weighed in at the combine and then validated it at his pro day.
None of them weighed in at the combine and only Michael Pinx Jr didn’t entire workout why would Jayden do all that knowing he is a top 3 pick regardless. Why pick on Jayden is the question if you don’t like his game it’s ok but to single him out is the real question the didn’t do anything but win the heisman
In honesty, I wouldn’t run if I were Daniels. It may be unlikely, but if he were to pull or worse tear a muscle in the 40, then I’m doing that having signed my NFL contract for financial protection.

He has a strong arm and throws the best deep ball of any QB in the draft. The problem is, in the NFL he will NOT have the same competitive advantage as he did and UW.
Most scouts now recognize that Penix struggles with timing and accuracy on the mid to underneath throws. Recent revelation is that the Michigan DC realized that fact in the National Championship Game, took away the deep balls by coverage (practically daring him to throw the underneath routes), and he struggled for all the world to see.

Absolutely, he's awesome to watch. His high points are better than anyone else's and he excels the most at throws that pay the bills as an NFL QB. No one should care much about running around. But he's also got a lot of off platform skill. People are just biased nowadays by the paint on the field and want to poo poo any hype for a white QB.

Look at the receivers that the quarterbacks threw to. Maye had the worst team and is only 21 years old. Daniels was throwing to two top 15 picks in this years draft. It’s Tua and Jones all over again. It’s right in front of your eyes.

The point I am making is if the Pats evaluate the top QB prospects and really like 1 guy and the other is evaluated so-so, don’t draft the so-so prospect because you need a QB. If pats really like Maye and aren’t so sure on Daniel’s, don’t force the pick. As a fan I don’t know what the front office is thinking and they may be really high on both guys, but I’m worried we are becoming one of those loser franchises were we make the flashy picks because owner wants a position while overlooking what the scouts think. May not be the case but I’m just worried with what I’ve seen. This franchise seems to be evolving into a clown show with the dynasty and Kraft trying to take the spotlight with all his quotes, to not naming Wolfe as the GM.
Maye isn’t as athletic as Josh Allen. I think Cam Newton is a better comp. Big, strong athletic with not so great accuracy.

Caleb is short and fat. Daniels is skinny with some freaky growth on his elbow. One ex GM at his pro day said Daniels came off as fake. These are huge red flags. My 8 year old son is more mature than Caleb. Daniels just looks and talks like a dummy. Neither will win over an NFL locker room.
