I took mines apart just as you showed, but was scared to fully indulge in water to clean it! needless to say its still making noise, went to lowes, bought another one and something said revisit trying to fix yours and found your youtube tutorial! I cant wait to pull mines back down to clean it properly with water /alcohol, dry and lube it up to retry it! Thanks for this...I see a lowes refund in my future LOL....
Thank you for posting this! I have the same one and the fan isn't working. Now I know how to get in there and see what might be happening. I wish you had shown a bit more of the box for the vent fan. I can't know for sure until I get it open, but it appears mine might not have a proper vent or even a metal box cover through the attic!
That will work if you don't rent and you own your house but this thing hasn't been cleaned in years and somebody was smoking in the bathroom so there was a thick tar on all the plastic

I clean mine yearly. But never with alcohol and water. Just dry with a toothbrush, and it works fine.
