Man, those prices were great. I'll have to keep checking. Maybe a trip to a surplus store.... Army surplus world has them for 21 plus $10 for shipping...
Thanks for the video. Are you suppose to wear the level 1 and level 2 together? Wear the level 2 over level 1 or are they both not related to each other? Thanks!
They can be worn together as a system or independently depending on the weather conditions. There are several other levels. Level 3 is a Fleece, Level 4 is a Windbreaker, Level 5 is a Softshell, Level 6 is a Goretex Shell Level 7 is a Primaloft Parka (There are also bottoms/pants for the other levels as well) I believe the level 4 is the only exemption where it only has a jacket but no pants. For the Genuine Issue.
@@kaisermojica4216 thanks. I’ve heard that level 1, 2 and 3 are a great system that keeps you warm in the winter then some kind of shell for wind, rain, snow protection. Seems like the level 1 is a looser fit than the level 2. If that’s the case, how’s the fit wearing the level 1 under level 2 together?
@@MarcP5267 I thought I mentioned this in the Video I first bought Level 1 in Large and they were big but the price was really good so I just kept them. The Level II I sized down to a Medium. I later bought something similar to the Level III which is the Polartec Fleece and that fits like an XL and then I bought a Level 4 Wind Jacket in Large and that fit pretty snug like a Patagonia Houdini or an Arc’teryx Squamish. I will be posting videos of those soon.
@@kaisermojica4216 ok thanks! I’m looking to buy a couple level 1’s and level 2’s and something similar to the level 3. I’m 6’ 3” with a long torso and longer arms. XL regular for the most part don’t really fit me good because most of the time too baggy. I’ve found that Large tall / long fit me the best but also depends on the brand. For instance Carhartt relaxed fit Large tall fit me very well. I’m going to try and find level 1 and level 2 in a large tall. Thanks!
@@MarcP5267 Best of luck, I know it can be tough to find the right fit for tall persons. I hear this can also be in issue with other gear like sleeping bags and tents as well. Would love to know how it goes with the sizes I’m sure other tall folks would as well. Thanks for watching and commenting.
some of polertec under garments are subject to fire ,an it will tell you to wear fire protective garment over them ,not sure why I just know some of mine say that actually, an I thought your video was pretty good on info ,an ya im 6'2 an like mine little longer so they go into the boot so when you tighten up your boots it also holds them in place.
Thanks for sharing, I never though of that. Longer allows to keep it in the boot. I do remember how longer sleeves with thumb loops also allow things to be placed under gloves and keeps you warmer.
You should look into firefighters baselayers; I replaced my level 1s with some I found at Goodwill of all places (huge pallet box full of new sets) that are fire retardant themselves. They run a little long as well, which is great for my boots.
There are still some USGI surplus on Amazon, just added links to the description. Sizes are limited though. I see there are also other products that are Made in Usa with same material Polartec Power Grid, and Polartec Power Dry for under $30. I just ordered one from Ebay as well there’s still a good amount there. www.amazon.com/Polartec-ECWCS-Weather-Drawers-Longjohns/dp/B00IA3ZVG2/ref=mp_s_a_1_7?dchild=1&keywords=ecwcs+level+2+usgi&qid=1634897986&qsid=130-0859234-1019434&sr=8-7&sres=B0040RWJ5S%2CB07J2RDTCD%2CB074LDP7M4%2CB00PQ4PJYC%2CB00IA3ZVG2%2CB002ZVDNVA%2CB07D9MFCBN%2CB00ABNEQFG%2CB01IIV1SNU%2CB01M15RJU2%2CB005GF1VIO%2CB0948PWR1J%2CB00V3LFF2S%2CB000XRK44C
This would otherwise hv been a decent video if you hv not thrown stuff around on the floor n just make a messy pile while showing it. Get a stand, wear the stuff n do a 360 along with better lighting.. Pls remake video w less dismissive attitute n you will get better result.. 👍
I use both of these products. Use the level 1 for hunting and fishing in cool weather in California. Level II also make excellent pajamas!
I have both, they are great budget base layers

You can get an entire set of them in a surplus store for 15 bucks

cant find chest sizing anywhere?
I sized down to a medium. I would estimate they’d be around 44 inches around the chest for the medium.
@kaisermojica4216 I'm a 40" chest, is that still a medium, normal base layers I'm a medium top,small bottom. I have a wide back.
Can’t find them on Amazon
