Just another TIP... instead of using the sticks... I use screws and glue the felt pad to the head of the screw. The screw allows you to grip it better.. depending on the size of your hands you can use longer or shorter screws. But basically the same concept. Good Job!!
Hello from Germany! Good idea with the stamp for the eyes! So I could learn someting from You too! I didn´t paint any eyes in the past suppose now i will change it in the future. Have You seen the interesting effect in colour changing of the syrenge tips and jigs? I´m not educated in video filming is this post editing from the video because of the American flagg in the backround? Another tip from me to the lead melting video from You lead for roof top is much much easyer to melt because it contains Sn50 tin or stannum but it is much much softer. The alloy would be much easyer to make if You first melt the soft lead for roof tops and then you put some of the hardlead from the fishing net weights inside. Hard lead is an alloy of lead tin or stannum and antimony. It melts hotter but it is harder when You pour Jigs you can use soft lead only but for fishing wheights it is much more useable to use a bit harder lead specially for streamlined thin weights because they ar more stabile and don´t bend to a banana so fast. If you melt Your lead next time make Your own alloy with mixing different lead from different sources this gives a much more equal alloy and the poring is easyer. Take the roof lead first so it melts first and the molten lead gives a better heat tranfair to the stove. I use a wood fire for melting my lead this is much faster and cheaper as the electric stove. Just an safety advice do it outdoors with good ventilation maybe use an aspirator mask and another safety advice from me if Your hobby growes it will be necesarry to fill up your melting pot don´t use the round ingot form anymore the ingots are too heavy and to compact use an ingot mold wich makes an real ingot like the lee ingot mold. These ingots melt faster as the form You use and now the security tip at this the lee form of ingots is easy to handle and they are easy to put in the melting pot witout splashing any lead inside the molten lead. If one of Your ingots would fall into the molten lead splashes could burn You dramatically. The slim form from the ingots i prefere are much safer to handle. Next advice never let Your son be around you when You make Your alloys on open fire or on your stove. Heavy metals are much much more toxic when human are still growing they con cause brain deficits and cancer. If the alloy is ready and it is only in the lee melting pot it would bee ok but not too long. When the lead is molten in Your Lee pot turn the temperature down from 10 to the lowest possible teperature this will help to prevent burning the lead and it helps that less fumes will appear in the enviroment and air You are breathing! I have an absolutely strong hood with exit tube far away from me direkt above my meltig pot and and my workplace. Please do a bit more workeplace layout for You and Your health. So I hope to help You a bit with your new hobby. I pour lead for my mothers small fishing takle shop since jears and in thousands of jigs and fishing weghts a jear I hope more safe as You did for my self. Please think about my thaughts and change a bit of Your workeplace layout for Your health. Please don´t understand my thaughts wrong and stop it, just change a bit :-) Best wishes from Germany and don´t stop Your channel with good advices for anglers.
