Once a critic said of Australian Cate Blanchett's riveting performance in "our The Talented Mr. Ripley" that "she seems more American than the Americans." Mr. Strong, born in England, seems to fit that description to the extent that he is so regionally American and also compels as well.

I saw this…boring…cold alienating. I love M. Strong, so was disappointed.
