Yes! This blew my mind. I had no idea snaps would root. Please share what else you multiply by propagation. I would love to know what other cut flowers will root this way! And of course the ones we aren’t allowed to propagate...I know some are patented. You always share great info and more info than others in a lot of cases so I appreciate your channel so much!

hi I'm curious about the seeds you said cannot be propagating. Which ones are those? I mean the patented type.

Petunias, coleus, cosmos, tomatoes, hydrangea, sedum, chrysanthemums, azaleas, zinnias, roses (remove most or all leaves for the perennials).

I hadn’t thought to do this with snapdragons, but definitely will this year. Thank you for posting this. I did have a brainwave last spring when I pinched the dahlias I had potted up. I did the same technique with the pinchings and they actually took, roots filled 4” pots quickly. I didn’t personally have space for these babies, but I grew one on in a large tub and gave a few away, and all grew into beautiful dahlias. Happened to be Cornel. I was very pleased and plan to do this again this year, but with intention and make them available at my seedling sale. Thank you again for your always friendly and informative videos 🌺

Love this! Yes, please share more about propagating and cloning. Seeds are SO expensive! Very helpful to see your tools, methods, and even the brands of seeds you use. Looking forward to more process/propagating videos😀

So true! A lot can be lost when steps are skipped and we guess our way along! I think they want to make it look easy and are afraid we don’t have the attention span to actually learn!🌸🌻🌱

Danielle, pure perfection in a 7.5 minutes video 🌸👏❣️ When you said “succession” I felt a big bonk in my head 😂 Game changer for me. I was late seeding snaps and think I’ll be able to catch up by pinching maybe half of the first seedlings and propagating them so I’ll have blooms faster. Then I’ll propagate all of the 2nd succession. You are so brilliant ⚡️💡

Brilliant! Years ago on forums this was called the “pinch-n-poke” method with mine being a lot less formal, just pinching leggy annuals w my fingers & sticking them in a new pot and making a brand new hanging basket or whatever. Impatients is what I started with, but works with a lot of plants.

I double and triple most of my flowering plants every year by using this propagation method. But for some reason, I've never ever thought of rooting snapdragon cuttings. Thank you for sharing this!
The cost of specialty seeds and plants has really increased over the years and they continue to do so every year, so this is an easy way to cut costs for the average home gardener!

This is LIFE CHANGING! 🤣😱🥰 Perfect timing, too, since I’m nearly ready to pinch my 2nd batch of snaps. The first batch has been pinched already, and I remember looking at the pinched pieces and thinking, hmm. This seems wasteful. Thank you so much for sharing this process! Such a time saver, too! 🌻

This is exactly the info I was looking for! I was hoping I could take cuttings of my now tiny baby snapdragons and wondered how long they took to root cause my growing season is quite short.
I tested it with zinnias over the winter and it works very well. Those Benary's Giant and Queen Lime seeds are EXPENSIVE!

Thank you for this video! I have been doing this with (super)petunias for the last couple years & it's just amazing how many new plants are available from the original plant!!! The stems or vines continue to grow so you can get more than one crop of cuttings from the same plant. 🌸

I had to take 3 cosmos seedlings that had shrivelled up close to the ground, I clipped them and used the codyledon leaf structure propagation. I tried it last year and learned it works. I have many snapdragons to pinch.
I have Costa's, Rockets and Potomac series. So, now I will have more!!

Thank you for all of your inspirational videos I am so happy to know of someone else whom has discovered this great idea! After losing most of my pot plants to root mealybugs this summer, ( I live in subtropical Australia) because of the flooding rains that we have been experiencing, I tried to save what was left of my new potted plants that I had just bought, by taking 'micro' cuttings of any viable stems not infected with humidity loving pests. I saved quite a few including some snapdragons, double petunias, pansies Virginia stock and quite a few others. It brought me so much joy, just to see these little survivors grow. I have no right to complain over my garden woes when so many other flood victims lost everything, including their lives.
