WA in Japanese means Japanese and SHI means paper (they use rice paper) Washi "masking tape" is translucent, re-positional (you can remove and re-stick and it doesn't lose its stickiness) and you can tear it easily, and most importantly, WRITE on it. The paper tape sold as Washi does not have all these qualities, and most are not as flat and smooth and delicate in appearance as genuine Washi. So you ordered the "real thing" if Washi was what you wanted.

Honestly the biggest distinction between washi tape and masking tape is that masking tape is white, and washi tape has designs on it. Some washi tapes are dodgier than others and may just basically be sticky tape with a design on it, and may seem flimsy or others may be the right consistency but super thin, but washi tape really just refers to tape with a design on it as far as anyone's concerned, so don't worry about it. If it's got something on it, it's 'washi'. It's not a specific brand is what I'm trying to say. As far as why it says 'masking tape' on the box, well it's probably a case of 'Engrish'. Where someone who doesn't necessarily know English very well tries to write something and it gets by because it's somewhere where English is not necessarily well known. Like countries like Japan where your average person off the street may know and even speak a little English, but wouldn't be able to spell a lot of the words they know, or read an entire article/page for example.

For example, a new will be seen in the beginning of the month. If it full moon, it means we have reached 15th of the month. and maybe crescent will appear in 7th or 8th of the month. To make more clear example, in Islam calendar there a month named 'Syawal' and the 1st of Syawal was on 25th July 2017 and you will see new moon on that day. If they're 15 stickers from new moon until full moon, it would be perfect!

The first Package of sticker flakes, the one that came all crumpled up, I actually ordered one and got a second one as an extra and both of them where somewhat crooked as well and (of course) I got a lot of different ones as well and they where all fine so I think it might just be the way that the floral ones are packaged in the little box... But I was able to straighten them out so some extend so maybe that'll work out for you as well
Absolutely love this video! I've recently placed a whole lot of orders on Ali express for washi tapes, stickers and stamps etc. so far, after about a month or so, about half of the stuff has arrived. I live in South Africa though, so perhaps the wait is longer down here! I have loved all the washis I've received, very good quality. If you're ever thinking about buying stamps though, I suggest reading the reviews, as a set of stamps I purchased were quite warped and don't work very well! I get all of my washi tapes from taobao ( i know if you are english speaking, you won't be able to use the site, but there are agents nowadays which might help you get them, depending on which country. Plus Taobao has already open up to international buyers!). Taobao's washi tapes are cheaper and there are people who do their own designs and sell them, they are all really pretty and affordable! Mostly cheaper than aliexpress :)
