@@mickster1780 meh, what about their greatest hits or something. Dogs is the only good song on Animals and The Wall has 2 good songs on it. Doing 5.1 mixes of music instead of Atmos mixes in 2022 is just stupid.
@@CoolhandLukeSkywalkr disagree of everything you said, but it is your opinion. Will never buy a Atmos setup. 5.1 is enough. And The Wall has much more than only 2 good songs, and so does Animals. Both those albums are flawless from start to finish. And this is my opinion, but I have to say you haven't got any clue of what is good music.
Regardless of individual preferences, all pink floyd albums deserve to be released in 5.1, as it's also true that they also deserve Atmos tracks (and I'm talking about that as I'm only equipped in 5.1), since the Atmos can be played in Dolby True HD. I nearly dropped down dead in shock when I saw they were also putting out a standalone blu ray yesterday 😊😊😊. That is something I love to see and about time too. But oddly enough I've actually plunged for the box set on this release and pre-ordered it yesterday on Amazon for £57 which is not bad. I was originally expecting it to be around the £80 mark. The only reason I am laying out the extra bucks is that recently I brought a new media unit to store my other 12-inch box sets and it's looking a bit bare. So this will sit nicely in it with my WYWH and DSTOTM Immersion box sets.
Hopefully the 5.1 of The Wall will be coming soon as well since it’s been done a while. However, my Floyd holy grail would be The Final Cut in 5.1. That album was made for surround!
@@lifeinsurround I’m hoping this means they are planning to reissue all the Jethro Tull albums at some point. I got into this hobby more recently so I’m missing about half of the Jethro Tull albums. Stand up is definitely on my want list.

I only use two speakers. Amused to death is great remixed on two speakers so my favourite album ever animals should be interesting. Every change I will notice.
This is great! Preordered. Also, Rhino releasing Thick as a Brick 50th with Steve Wilson 5.1 mixes, I missed the 40th release and can now complete that collection for now.
I preordered the Blu-ray..I really wanted the SACD to have some kind of continuity between my DSOTM and WYWH albums (I own them both in SACD) but I can't find any infos here in Italy...even the official site and Facebook page states that the SACD would be available but on the official store there is literally NO sign of it...how strange, seems they don't want to sell that format at all..
Hi dear Mike I guess it is good news. Will look forward to your review..... I am on the fence on whether I will invest... . However I am high on the new Porcupine Tree Closure Continuation. Will you be doing an analysis of the 2Cd/bluray set.. I am sure the immaculate production by Steven Wilson will give a feast for the senses. @@lifeinsurround hi, I got the super deluxe 3 cd 1 bluray set for 89.00 Canadian... or 57 pounds from the Amazon uk (marketplace). The album is excellent and the three bonus cuts are even better. A great album from a great band.
This has me so chuffed i hope they don`t let us down i read Sept 16th for the release. Not sure if that was on QQ or Hoffman PPL had screenshots of those delivery dates Does SACD have the quad mix? Glad you made it back from your tour of duty bro
I think that they also should/should have included a complete show from the "Animals" tour, and maybe made that available both with the souped-up version of the album and separately. My two cents.
Hi , looking for advice , i generally play cds as my main source & my high end equipment is based on cds but do appreciate surround with favourite bands …. such as Pink Floyd . Im looking at purchasing the CD & Blu ray version or the SACD as both options are about the same price , which option would you recommend? Thanks , Leigh .
For lots of reasons, I recommend Blu-ray over SACD. Unless you have an SACD player, and a system that plays DSD, natively, with no conversions, then, SACD might possibly be your best option. But blu-ray is my choice for this one.
Exciting isn't it? In Europe the blu ray is announced for September 16, and the limited edition is muuuuuch cheaper (but still useless in my opinion) around 60$!
A no brainer buy for me, I have been waiting for years!
Both the SACD Sept release and the entire deluxe set on order for October. Looking forward! Keep at it!
I'm excited too!
According to people on the Steve Hoffman Forum, James Guthrie announced in a May interview that he has finished the 5.1 mix of The Wall!
I'd prefer The Wall over Animals.
Bring. It. ON.
