How to make minions better 1. Buff damage without aspects as well as damage REDUCTION along with health 2. Give us aspects that don't just give us more, or increase attack speed. (The mages summoning a blizzard aspect is great, more like that) 3. Consolidation of minions to a single bar and all follow a cooldown similar to golem so you don't have to button mash to summon them. Replace summon with engage instead. 4. Allow skeletons and bone golem to benefit from bone skill damage modifiers A couple things I think would be interesting is either a skill or aspect that allows skeletons to also get bone storm, as well similar to witch doctor poison darts, have them fire off a core skill or something with X reduced damage? I also think bringing back simulacrum and have it benefit as minion would be ideal as well
On my idea with simulacrum, there is a blood, bone, and minion ultimate, and aside from aspects making 2 of them shadow damage, simulacrum could pose as a shadow ultimate similar to the Rogues but you know, for necromancer
I really hope they do something to buff minions. having to go so ham on paragon to make them somewhat viable feels absolutely terrible. I also feel like turning Army of the Dead into a darkness skill would help with it being useable, because at least it'd help ramp up the shadowblight. they can increase the corpse drop chance too to be higher or guaranteed if on bosses at least. Bonestorm is just too good to pick between the other 2 lol

I've been getting some amazing survivability/damage out of a build using skeletons to make corpse mages to freeze/vulnerable, and I use blood surge an corpse tendrils with corpse explosion (blighted) and the unique hands that make the corpse explosion home in on enemies
you can replace corpse explosion with shadow mist and equip mist trigger explosion aspect. you dont have to put corpse explosion on the skill bar to trigger it. this way you have more luckhit proc and more survival. basically a minion/shadowmist hybrid build. i personally replacing corpse exlosion with sever.

This is the latest and now best MINION build, the literal meta best Necro build is the most recent shadow one we did here: ua-cam.com/video/dBt0bystFaI/v-deo.html
Yeah I tried to play my own way but caved and transformed into this build last night. Safe to say it’s like your wasting your time playing anything other than meta. Thanks for the great guild 🎉
I like the build and have been running Shadowblight/minion since day 1 for my 79 Necro, but i so not understand the focus on crit for a dot build that only benefits from crit with direct hits from Blight, Bonestorm, and the minion, who only get 30% crit. I feel like lucky hit, attack speed, and dot/dark damage is the way to go. I'd be happy be told otherwise though if someone has data. Either way, love the game and thr channel. Been watching since MHW.
I have a very similar build but I opted out of blight for blood mist (shadow + explosive) and is honestly amazing. Only negative is that you have no single target damage :( against mobs you can fight and kill for ages but against one (expecially suppressors) it’s a pain
Its my first minion build and the one I leveled with.. the problem is you sacrifice minions and get a bunch of points and make yourself tanky and more shadow dmg... so theres no point unless you really like minions..
Correct. I started with minions but you have to spend a lot of skill and paragon points to buff each individual minion and then they take two skill slots. You’re left way too vulnerable considering they don’t even aggro enough.
Lol! Right after I started watching this vid, I found the aspect that gave cold mages the blizzard passive, I tested out Cold over my Shadow Mages and there's just much more damage coming from the Cold mages with the added benefit of slowing and adding vulnerable to targets. I'm still trying to piece together what works for a Summoner Necro and I'm going to start pulling from this build over the one I've been using, they are quite similar but this one seems to use curses more.
Strongly agree 5 slots with minions filling up to 2 of them is BS. 5 slots in general are BS but some builds are so hard like a basic necro with minions. You aren't playing a necro without minions, no argument. You are playing something else, but don't call it a necromancer if it's basic isn't summoning some kind of helpers.
Honestly i made a crazy summoner build with army of the dead and decrepify They are unkillable every 10-12 seconds for 12 seconds , and everything’s hitting hard.
Thanks so much for this. I'm glad you're working on this build. Summonancer has always been my favorite since Diablo II, and I hope Blizzard buffs this spec.
Hi i like you build and im trying to build a similiar one aswell. unfortunately it will take me a while to get there (only lvl 61) but i have some questions about your decisions here. 1. first of all i totally agree with you that minion nec needs way to many perks to even get going (like wasting 2 slots for mages and warriors). i understand that bonestorm with the barrier perk is probably just to strong to not take it for the endgame but is shadow bonestorm really that worth? or wouldnt be the "howl from below" a better dps increase and a nice quallity of live change? 2. why dont you take necrotic carapace or atleast put one point in crippiling darkness? i felt like the stun even at 1s is quite valuable 3. i assume you dont take the blizzard perk for your mages because tendrils just scales better in the late game? 4. is it even worth taking coldmages without blizzard and wouldnt be the essence generation be better since you will put vuln on all enemies pretty much permanent with nearly zero CD on tendrils? i know that shadow mages seem kinda bugged at the moment but maybe they will fix it
I'm only level 52 or so but I've been doing this build and it's working really well for me. I feel like if you don't have an army of skeletons, you should just play a mage or something else.
I think they needed more cooler spells, and just more spells in general. I'm sure there's many people running the same build. I'd rather a companion than a mount. I feel they could of added more stuff in it rather than (spending skill point for 0.5+ damage attack)
There's a strong feeling, that using unique scythe actually reduces effectiveness of cooldown reduction builds as you have less dmg procs. Or mb it's just for the builds around homing corpse explosion...
So I followed this build but there is a problem. To progress along the ability path, you must put enough ability points to progress. If you actually try to follow this build it won't let you progress because you didn't put enough points to progress. It literally says, one point in reap. You need to put at least 2 points to get to the next area. Then if says three points on hewed flesh. Same problem. Needs enough invested ability points to progress along the tree.
I really hope they add load-outs. Not going to bother switching back to minions if they improve them, just because I don't want to redo my skills/paragon board/gear again
I really wish there was a way to have the golem and the other skeletons on the same hotkey maybe sacrificing the golem AOE attack or something to balance it
6:40 Are you saying Inspiring Leader is bugged? Because it's supposed to be the player, not the minions, that need to stay healthy, which you do with your bone storm shield.
So you have a best minion build right, and then you spend time improving it, so now time has past and you have a newer and better build making it the new best. Hard concept I know.
6:50 That is.. either he cannot read or I cannot read.. He said "Your minnions must be healthy" I read "After YOU have been healthy" ... minions can be almost dead, but you have to be healthy.
I just don’t care for corpse abilities since I already need to use them to keep my minions healed and buffed. Also the targeting on console is terrible so when I did use corpse explosion it wouldn’t even always pop the right one.
CE I agree with but absolutely use tendrils. A pull that can either heal you or make all the enemies hit with trendies vulnerable is to good to pass up. Also it doesn’t consume the corpse so you can still rez a minion from it
Howww..... Howww the hell did you came up with the same idea, i spent a week how to integrate minios on my shadow build and now is on video and i just tested it yesterday XD. Even the paragon board its the same
been running this without tnedrils and with golem but with coldheart/blizzard aspect and will likely change my paragon board order to yours. and aspect of void to gather them up and gloves were running sekllies unique
does your lucky hit % count for your minions? like if you have a 50% lucky hit rate do your minions trigger it at that rate or is it only for the skills you cast ?
Have you thought about not using the mist and using the the corpse tendrils aspect which boost the crit chance and the crit damage as dots don’t benefit the shadow damage. And using the bone golem which taunts (better position) as well as providing corpse for booms.
I wonder if you can do a darkness/cold build using frostburn gloves, pentinet greaves (i think these are the boots that leave the cold trail but not 100% sure), and bloodless scream (the two handed scythe unique)
@@HG-ff5tuyou Just have to Finish the WT4 Dungeon. Lvl 70 is just a wierd ingame recommendation. I did it with crap Gear in lvl 63 and a Shadow build. Just try it If you feel rdy. But lvl 70 is much to high and wasted time
Would be cool if there was a aspect to summon your minions including the golem using corpse explosion we we an do damage, summon our minions, and gain essence
Quick question if anyone has some input. If we are leaning into Bone Storm for its damage reduction and crit damage AND sacrificing our golem would it be worth swapping out maybe the Skele warrior aspect with the aspect that extends Bone Storm by quite a bit? You lose 2 warriors but gain damage reduction and crit damage for an additional 8 seconds (maybe 6 seconds can’t remember) you could also possibly try to add the 25% sacrifice bonus aspect to get another 15% from golem. Just spit balling here and none of this may work. Also has anyone tested 3 boards vs 4 boards on paragon? Meaning, we often see builds with very few things selected. Usually a “quickest path to glyph and legendary”. The reason I ask, the 2 minion boards substantially boost your minions by crazy amounts in both damage and survivability. If you filled out all the rare nodes on both boards your minions are insane. Just seems like we are trying to find a balance between strong minions AND a strong us when maybe it might be better to focus on one or the other???? On the flip side, if you wanted to run just golem, the golem glyph and golem glyph board make him a god. Especially when running bone golem and he taunts everything, corpse tendrils hits almost the whole group and CE clears everything out. I run a bone build with golem and it’s by far the best thing since sliced bread. He is such a tank and my blood orbs heal him. Yes plz I’ll nuke behind golem all day.
So, if you have a moderate base of defensive attributes on your armor you don't need the bone storm barrier at all. If you're insistent on using it I highly recommend working in the 25%x damage while barrier is active aspect if possible. You'll have enough cooldown reduction to blood mist usually whenever you want and get out, and the armor aspect will cap your DR any time you're fighting to take a few hits even from jerks like the butcher. I opt for a bit more defensive stats and use blood wave with the triple wave aspect personally. It wrecks in lvl50 nightmares and I'm 90. The 3 vs 4 boards is a tough call, the socket bonuses and legendary point on the 4th board can make a massive difference in a build. The problem with picking between strong minions and strong you is even at peak power minions still aren't that strong, so you still need to have some high grade firepower at your disposal. Hopefully this is addressed jn the patch, they said mi ions would get a buff but we'll see. I enjoy running just golem as well 😂. Maxed out iron boi is a stompy monster.
@@Slim_Sumo appreciate the insight and response 😊 I agree that currently it’s tough to run minions because if you aren’t full in on making them viable then there are typically better builds to go with. Seeing a Necro in the battlefield with zero minions is so disheartening. It’s like why play a necro at all. We are nothing more than a re-skinned sorc without the survivability.
@@lukedawg2787 It makes me sad that there are no minion related uniques (yet), and no golem aspects/uniques at all except the one useless cooldown perk. 1-2% proc chance cmon. I have high hopes for an item that sacrifices your skeletons for a second golem. Every item and skill perk description that mentions golem mentions it in plural "your golems do X". I know it's just referencing the 3 golem types but hey, can hope. *I guess there's the blood surge necklace for skellies. Forgot about that.
With all due respect, a level 84 necro in a tier 35 dungeon isn't really convincing for it to be a good build. I know from the look of it that you can probably pass higher tiers without much difficulty, just saying that the bone spear build I use at level 73 can pass a tier 35 dungeon with pretty much if not higher speed than this build.
Genuine question, why are you saying a certain skill does (for example) 15% TIMES (x) crit damage or something like that. Isn’t the ‘X’ there really just to denote that the x is a variable for the percent buff and it’s not actually a 15 TIMES crit damage increase? That would be insane. The ‘X’ is there from the advanced tooltips setting
There are additive and multiplicitive damage modifiers. The (x) means it's a multiplier. Most direct modifiers are just a +-additive damage. Full example follows, base damage 100 for simplicity. Your damage is 100. You have 100%(x)+ damage, so you do 200 damage. Simple so far. Now, you have 20%+ damage to slow, this adds to the base number of 100 for 120. You also have 20%+ damage to enemies affected by shadow, which adds to the base 100 again putting your base damage at 140. Now you stack the 100%(x) on top of that and you go to 180 damage. The (x) multiplies all the damage modifiers AFTER they are applied. Hope that helps? Questions just ask. He says "times" to denote that it's a miltiplicative modifier
The blight midt from corpse explosion cant crit so the crit in bone storm is wasted for this reason i prefer going blood golem. I get the 15%dmg reduction 24/7 plus the golem crit doesnt matter
They can’t crit but they apply different shadow damage over time procs which stack shadowblight quicker and you get the juicy crits off that. Not to mention ring of mendalin can crit too. That’s where the majority of my damage comes from and I’m gritting 2m constantly with it.
The Shadowblight Capstone passive isn't a DoT and can Crit, scaling up to do insane Damage under the Blight and Decay Aspects - Blighted Corpse Explosion's job is just to trigger it as much as possible (which is also why you don't actually want to run Black River, which is using up four Corpses for just one ticking dot).
I picked the withered board and my board came up looking completely different then yours. With withered in the complete opposite corner and my glyph in a different spot. What should I be looking to pick with paragon points in this sections?
That’s interesting, I miss most of the unique items but with the bloodless scream that should work too until I get the rest. :) I tried to build something around the bloodless scream and wasn’t to happy. With this inspiration that build should get much more enjoyable. :D

IS THIS REALY A MINION BUILD? focus is on corps explo. shadow damage. first paragon board isent the minion one. i know going for minions is low dps. but this is a shadow build with minions...
That's all good if any unique did drop. I spam nightmare dungeons without any unique drops. To be honest no good things drops in the game overall. So these builds is not useful since you can't get the items for it. Same with all builds in the game. You begin to think if steamers have i better drop rate than others. In my opinion unqiues are a flaw in diablo's build system. Pretty much every meta build has atleast one unique. Alot of people have been farming for a long time and simple cannot get the unique's they want. Hence, we cannot optimally play alot of these builds wich then causes frustration. This can easily be solved but i doubt Blizzard is gonna do something about it.

3. Consolidation of minions to a single bar and all follow a cooldown similar to golem so you don't have to button mash to summon them. Replace summon with engage instead.
4. Allow skeletons and bone golem to benefit from bone skill damage modifiers
A couple things I think would be interesting is either a skill or aspect that allows skeletons to also get bone storm, as well similar to witch doctor poison darts, have them fire off a core skill or something with X reduced damage?
Bonestorm is just too good to pick between the other 2 lol
ive been using Kripps minion builds from over a month ago, they work perfectly fine. I don't know why people keep saying there aren't good minion builds. lol, The main issue people are having is getting the stupid Ring of Men. its what gate keeps this and every variation of this build. Typically people have everything else before they ever get the ring.
But corpse explosion is such an important skill here because if the damage buffs with glyphs, the synergy with items, and the essence regen
@@elzitro5386but u trigger corpse explosions with shadowmist..?
@@elzitro5386 hi,so my understanding is shadowmist pops exactly 5 corpse so every time you use shadowmist you gain the legendary glyph buff. and since our equipments have cd reduction + decrepify, shadowmist should have 0 cd. I use sever because its not dmg over time and can crit harder. plus sever dmg just got buffed.
I use those with iron maiden and decrepify
It would be nice to get a Black River, Penitent Greaves and Temerity. All I ever get is the same Bloodless sythe and Visage. Must have gotten 10 of each so far.
Jesus Christ…who has the TRUE best Necro build??? I’m getting tired of seeing these videos. It updates everyday
well this is a weakest build dont follow it
@@semperfi2988 I’m still following the first videos build doing good so far 👍🏽
This is the latest and now best MINION build, the literal meta best Necro build is the most recent shadow one we did here: ua-cam.com/video/dBt0bystFaI/v-deo.html
@@RageGamingVideos 🤔
Yeah I tried to play my own way but caved and transformed into this build last night. Safe to say it’s like your wasting your time playing anything other than meta. Thanks for the great guild 🎉
Have minions spawn on a timer and not taking a skill slot but have a skill where they can use a corpse to upgrade themselves.
Minions will eventually get a buff, I’m sticking with my guys for now.
@@txboy051 today I went for blood lance, very similar to bone spear but with better survival. Shadow /mist still the best.
After the latest patch with buffs, is it better to keep using Blight or switch to Reap or Hemorrhage?
Keen to see opinions after the recent patch which give a huge boost the the Iron Golem Slam
I've been using your previous minion build with a lot of success! Thanks for the update to it!
The “newest bestest for real this time” minion build better then everything else but not better then the next video posted tomorrow.
It says best minion build not best build in general but I know reading is hard.
@@RageGamingVideos I did say minion build buddy 😂

Thanks, switched up some of the aspects so ima dive in and see how i do.😂
Another problem is the sheer amount of talent point needed to go into a summonancer build, causing you to be squishy.
Is there a minion levelling build and the you switch to this at high levels, or do you play this build the whole time as you are getting points?
Honestly i made a crazy summoner build with army of the dead and decrepify
They are unkillable every 10-12 seconds for 12 seconds , and everything’s hitting hard.
Ah yes, the shadow corpse explosion build.
lol right? it is just corpse explosion with pets "there"
I'm using the blood surge summoner necro build and it's great
Thanks so much for this. I'm glad you're working on this build. Summonancer has always been my favorite since Diablo II, and I hope Blizzard buffs this spec.
Oh the new ultimate superior extreme power house pargon enlighten necro build
Hi i like you build and im trying to build a similiar one aswell. unfortunately it will take me a while to get there (only lvl 61)
but i have some questions about your decisions here.
1. first of all i totally agree with you that minion nec needs way to many perks to even get going (like wasting 2 slots for mages and warriors). i understand that bonestorm with the barrier perk is probably just to strong to not take it for the endgame but is shadow bonestorm really that worth? or wouldnt be the "howl from below" a better dps increase and a nice quallity of live change?
2. why dont you take necrotic carapace or atleast put one point in crippiling darkness? i felt like the stun even at 1s is quite valuable
3. i assume you dont take the blizzard perk for your mages because tendrils just scales better in the late game?
4. is it even worth taking coldmages without blizzard and wouldnt be the essence generation be better since you will put vuln on all enemies pretty much permanent with nearly zero CD on tendrils? i know that shadow mages seem kinda bugged at the moment but maybe they will fix it
Inspiring Leader is an auto-include passive on any Necro build. You misread it. The minions do not have to be healthy at all.
I.agree.with.this.cold/shadow.build.for.minions.I've.thought.about.this.as.well.I.would.however.add.bloodsurge.with.the.amulet.that.combined.with.ring.of.menelin.is.SOOOOO.much.AOE.
I'm only level 52 or so but I've been doing this build and it's working really well for me. I feel like if you don't have an army of skeletons, you should just play a mage or something else.
Gracias! Good vibes from México, awesome guide
This build has helped me thanks buddy
Nvm this build bruh. I’m lvl 83 with bone spear and im soloin tier 54 dungeons…he’s lvl 84 and still semi struggling with tier 34
I really hope they add load-outs. Not going to bother switching back to minions if they improve them, just because I don't want to redo my skills/paragon board/gear again
Ring of Mendeln and upping your lucky hit chance makes minions practically melt through enemies.
I really wish there was a way to have the golem and the other skeletons on the same hotkey maybe sacrificing the golem AOE attack or something to balance it
You're right about shadow mages they're broken
I can't get a black River drop, extremely irritating
Been using a similar build to this for a while having fun with it
6:40 Are you saying Inspiring Leader is bugged? Because it's supposed to be the player, not the minions, that need to stay healthy, which you do with your bone storm shield.
Another newest best end game build with minions
So you have a best minion build right, and then you spend time improving it, so now time has past and you have a newer and better build making it the new best.
Hard concept I know.
@@RageGamingVideos Listen, you are not the only person who understands the concept of building you just put on UA-cam. Okay?
6:50 That is.. either he cannot read or I cannot read.. He said "Your minnions must be healthy" I read "After YOU have been healthy" ... minions can be almost dead, but you have to be healthy.
Nice video, keep up the good work!
Also it doesn’t consume the corpse so you can still rez a minion from it
can't wait to spend 400hrs+ to make my minion build competitive to other builds that are good straight out of the box
how far are people going in NM dungeons with this?
Why you aim for crit sometimes? I thought it doesnt affect DOTs which most of your damage from blight and CE is?
Nice build i just put bone prison instead of one corpse tendrils
does your lucky hit % count for your minions? like if you have a 50% lucky hit rate do your minions trigger it at that rate or is it only for the skills you cast ?
Only you
I've been doing fine with a bone minion build✌🏼
All these builds I've seen have been great appreciate all the time it must take to make them good work!
Have you tried a thorns minion necro.?
Have you thought about not using the mist and using the the corpse tendrils aspect which boost the crit chance and the crit damage as dots don’t benefit the shadow damage. And using the bone golem which taunts (better position) as well as providing corpse for booms.
Sucks so hard that you cannot pre-save builts and change them like in D3.. I hope they will implement this in a future patch
I wonder if you can do a darkness/cold build using frostburn gloves, pentinet greaves (i think these are the boots that leave the cold trail but not 100% sure), and bloodless scream (the two handed scythe unique)
I actually have this very build except for the boots, it works very well. I'm currently lvl 57 but I'm chilling and having fun in World Tier IV!

Would be cool if there was a aspect to summon your minions including the golem using corpse explosion we we an do damage, summon our minions, and gain essence
Running minions, and a golem is a HUGE hit to Necros… the minions just die too fast, and they don’t deal enough damage.
with the ring - they actually do. Without it - become totally useless at T4
@@yurkofess3825 yikes
@@Slim_Sumo appreciate the insight and response 😊
I agree that currently it’s tough to run minions because if you aren’t full in on making them viable then there are typically better builds to go with.
If you put mages on amulet you get 3 instead of 2
What about paragon board which is just for minions? Where you getting all purely buffs for minions
Mine just says 15% there is no (x) on my shadow blight
@@justinchennell9822 do you have advanced tooltips turned on? it doesn't show it if you don't
Ik ik probably not the most optimal but damn I want to see a hybrid build of blood and shadow
Inspiring Leader is YOU need to be Healthy not Minions
Where is your essence coming from?
You can preview and then rotate the board to make it look like he has 👌🏼
That’s interesting, I miss most of the unique items but with the bloodless scream that should work too until I get the rest. :)
I tried to build something around the bloodless scream and wasn’t to happy. With this inspiration that build should get much more enjoyable. :D
I feel you i haven't got a single necro unique in 6-8 hours of play each day since release, spamming nightmare dungeons to level up glyphs, that's all i get from those, not even useful sacred items since my first at level 50. Soon hitting 70 ( solo only )
What if you don't have the unique ring and scythe?
where's link for build?
Can you make a vid on how to get the unique gear for these builds
guide: just play. I got first Mendeln Ring with 90, then second on the same day. Black River with 95. High level its useless tho, playing bonespear :/
Inspiring leader only needs you to be healthy to work, not your minions to be healthy.
IS THIS REALY A MINION BUILD? focus is on corps explo. shadow damage. first paragon board isent the minion one. i know going for minions is low dps. but this is a shadow build with minions...
Great effort but at tier35, one should not spend more than 2 secs killing a pack of elites.
That's all good if any unique did drop. I spam nightmare dungeons without any unique drops. To be honest no good things drops in the game overall. So these builds is not useful since you can't get the items for it. Same with all builds in the game. You begin to think if steamers have i better drop rate than others. I play 6-8 hours each day and haven't got anything usefully for a week now. Im solo player and are soon level 70 still using level 50-51 gear since no better have dropped.
Can you show how to get some of these items like the sythe
In my opinion unqiues are a flaw in diablo's build system. Pretty much every meta build has atleast one unique. Alot of people have been farming for a long time and simple cannot get the unique's they want. Hence, we cannot optimally play alot of these builds wich then causes frustration. This can easily be solved but i doubt Blizzard is gonna do something about it.
Looks like Kripparrian's build.
Hey guys I have a different looking "Wither" Tree then the one you have, am I missing something? Edit: I just figured out that you can rotate the board haha
If I could ever get the ring or the scythe to drop??? Would love to run this build and been farming both of these and just can't get it done.
