Happy to see the progress of this tree -- glad you've gotten it into more appropriate soil. :)

I'm a horticulturist who specializes in grafting and citrus pruning. You need to select a trunk and wipe off the sucker shoots . You want to grow a straight trunk up to about 50cm to 1 meter then selectively cut off branches to develop into a martini shape basically. You need to focus the growth onto the shoots and branches you want to keep to form your tree shape,if you let it grow like it is now it will stay stunted and it causes pest problems you want to open up the tree in the middle but having branches going out and then up if you get me .
Hay sorry for being one of those no all pricks on the internet,it's just something I'm doing and am very interested in is the propagation and grafting of fruit trees .
If you want fruit earlier you can graft on a branch or bud from a mature lemon tree . Most citrus trees you buy are grafted onto lemon seedlings or trifoliata . A cool idea and somthing I've done,if you going to keep it in a pot or plant it out in a small town garden is graft on a couple different things so you have a cocktail tree . I did one with lemonade lemons, lines and Maher lemons in the past I gave away.
I've been watching a few bonzi channels lately and I'm going to turn a couple of my lemon seedlings I have now into bonzi trees, I started the other day by thining out a tree that looked like yours to one shoot and I tried to shape the trunk in a S sort of and I am trying to grow it over a old wine bottle from the like 1920s . I used coper wire to shape it and attach it to bottle , I'm kinda waiting to see what I do with others whether or not I graft them now ,with what and where on the trees to give me the shape I want

@@Erx_3 yeah I might make a video of a couple of my trees,I grow a few native trees as well. I'm growing a tree with three shoots I'm training to grow straight and tall so I can plat them together making a cool looking trunk .

@@kiwiprouddavids724 I am sure the thorned tree is a water shoot but can be grafted too, I use cocktail grapefruit scions.

It didn't do well in 2023 due to pests, so I have to be very vigilant in 2024 with pesticide or insecticidal soaps etc.

I like the shape of your tree, makes it more manageable. I started my lemon tree the day I saw your first video of this, but I let it grow tall instead of more bushy, which is not ideal since I need to bring it inside for winter in my climate.

How cold is it where you live? I'm honored to hear that you went out and planted some lemon seeds after seeing my first lemon video.

@@TheMelvinWei I'm in the Netherlands, so it can get to about -10C in winter (usually around 0-5C). I take the lemon tree inside before the first frost.

Your lemon tree has same leaf shape like mine: narrow and wavy a bit. Any idea what kind of lemon is this?

what I love about citrus place is the smells of the flowers in spring, I own a key lime tree and I'm growing an orange tree from seed, the funnest part is getting to watch it slowly grow.

Josh is really slow growing. I can hardly notice the development from month-to-month, even after the transplant into a big pot in 2022.

@@TheMelvinWei It doesn't matter. It is also about listening to you describe your observations. It is very soothing and academic. Like a casual uni lecture.
