GREEN Olympiad: Nurturing Environment Stewardship since 25 Years

In 1999, the Environment Education and Awareness Division at TERI envisioned the GREEN Olympiad (GO) with a goal to test the environment quotient of students, thereby giving them avenues to prepare themselves as environment-literate individuals. It is a leading school-based initiative of TERI, that has incorporated within itself several stages of initiatives in the field of sustainability transformation to match the aspirations of the academic community to establish as an Environment Education brand. Reaching out to nearly 2000 schools annually in India and abroad, this Olympiad is designed for students of Std. 4-12. The importance of Olympiads is articulated in National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and the program draws its linkages to SDG 4.7 on Education for Sustainable Development (ESD).
